CNN notes Pence leading the transition  was not unusual, citing the role of Dick Cheney in George W. Bush’s transition.

This is good news for those questioning President-elect Donald Trump’s stated intention of draining the Swamp. Trump’s Contract With the American Voter, his outline for the first 100 days of the Trump Presidency includes getting the Clean up Corruption in Washington Act introduced. That legislation will enact new ethics reforms to Drain the Swamp and reduce the corrupting influence of special interests on our politics.

It is still bad optics to Christie anywhere near the Trump Presidency after the conviction of two of Christie’s former allies for conspiring to shut down the George Washington Bridge, the nation’s busiest bridge, to punish a local mayor who refused to support the governor’s reelection bid. A third Christie, David Wildstein a former Port Authority executive, pleaded guilty and testified they orchestrated the shutdown of the lanes and toll booths on bridge which resulted in massive traffic delays, then tried to cover their tracks by claiming that the closures were part of a traffic study.
