BREAKING: Mullah Omar Captured?

You Can Run, But Sooner or Later America Will Find You

That’s what best-selling novelist Brad Thor is reporting over at Big Government:

Through key intelligence sources in Afghanistan and Pakistan, I have just learned that reclusive Taliban leader and top Osama bin Laden ally, Mullah Omar has been taken into custody.

If Thor’s sources pan out, this is excellent news, and a moment for real vindication for everyone – from the military brass to Republican leaders and conservative commentators to, yes, President Obama – who argued for pressing on for victory in Afghanistan and not abandoning the region to the Taliban. Of course, I’m guessing that if Mullah Omar has been held for some time now by Pakistani authorities without public disclosure of that fact, he’s probably been under questioning. Without being read any Miranda rights by the Pakistani government, one assumes. But doubtless we’ll learn more about what has happened and when, in due time.

    …if he tried to escape and took a bullet to the temple at close range – say, 1/4″. I mean, in that case how would we ever know if he had been read his Miranda warning?

      They know that Obama needs a win in the worst way to show the voters that he’s winning overseas. So, if this is Mullah Omar, and the ISI has been holding him for some time, I suspect there was a terrible price that was paid by us for him.

        You make a very good point. I would say they Pakistanis can deliver whomever they want, whenver they want. Well timed by Obama.

    LAHORE: Some Pakistani officials know more about al Qaeda and Taliban than they actually claim, the CBS channel quoted US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as saying on Monday.

    ?Some Pakistani officials are more informed about al Qaeda and Taliban than they let on,? Hillary said during an interview to the American channel.

    ?I?m not saying they?re at the highest levels, but I believe somewhere in this government are people who know where Bin Laden, al Qaeda, Mullah Omar and the Afghan Taliban leadership are,? she said.

    Reportedly Pakistan has had Omar since March.Perhaps Obama was saving him for an October surprise.

    Omar would be a propaganda coup for Obama, but other than that he probably wouldn’t be much of a catch. The guy is illiterate and the only knowledge he has is the koran, memorized. He was an absolute disaster running the country when he had the job, and led the Taliban almost to the point of annihilation (they have gradually built themselves back up, but only after Mullah Hopalong had to go into deep hiding to save his own butt – as much as he would love to get his 72 v-j-j reward).

    Better to have given the little sh*t two to the head when they found him, and collect the cash with his corpse.

    I have faith Breitbart has sourced this properly. No way he’d allow a story of this significance to be wrong. There’s absolutely no upside.

    Also please recall how he rolled out the ACORN story:

    1. Sensational Report
    2. Doubters Speak Up
    3. MSM gives free reign to Deniers and Mythmakers
    4. Film shown
    5. MSM and Acorn hang themselves.

    Get it right and get it first as they say. He has it first, does he have it right? Again, I’d be shocked if Breitbart got this wrong in such a public way.
