You too can ask President Obama a question on Twitter, using the hashtag #askobama. Of course, the tiny fraction of those tweets to be answered will doubtless be carefully screened, and the answers vetted before posting them. I’d say Saturday Night Live should satirize this, but it already did, the last time something like this was tried as if it was a totally brand-new idea, in March 1977:

    This is hilarious!! I can’t believe that the Obama re-elect campaign/OFA are doing the #askobama gig, when the whole thing is lifted from Carter!! Amazing…..I’m sure I saw this years ago, but had completely forgotten it. Thanks for the blast from the past – back when SNL was funny and fresh.

    That last line in the skit – it’s as though Axlerod and Co. are using SNL to get ideas!! Case in point: the “raffle” to have dinner with Obama and Biden, price cut down to $3 per entry to boost donor numbers!! Almost the same as a stay at the WH with the Prez. Hahaha!!

    Priceless. Thanks for the laugh, and the reinforcement that this is Carter 2.0. What clowns these leftists are. Clueless.

    to get one of US in There. Then we replicate another cultural icon: the infamous Food Fight in “Animal House”. We would probably need a Manchurian Candidate as I hear vetting is going to be heavy,and thorough.
