Congressman Walsh Responds to Obama’s Debt Ceiling Demand

Congressman Joe Walsh (R-IL), sponsor of the House Balanced Budget Amendment bill, is drawing a line in the sand and refusing to raise the debt limit.  He has sent out another video message to Obama evincing his unequivocal rejection of Tim Geithner’s fallacious fear-mongering .  As some members of leadership go wobbly on the Balanced Budget Amendment, we must remind them why they obtained their leadership positions last November.

Today, the RSC hand delivered a letter to John Boehner essentially saying Cut, Cap, Balance – or bust.  We will not make the same mistake we did with the FY 2011 budget.  This time conservatives will fight.

Consider this an early weekend open thread.

Just refuse to give Barry another dime on his credit card limit. Which is what the majority of Americans say they want.
Anyone here think that’s gonna happen?…
    Didn’t think so.

a reporter to ask Tim Geithner at his next presser “Mr Geithner, despite your best efforts, you have failed to convince a majority of Americans and their congressional representatives of the dire consequences of not raising the debt ceiling. Considering that in August, without a debt ceiling increase, you will be, by your own arguments, completely helpless to prevent the bankruptcy and default of America, will you at that time resign your office?

    geithner is a socialist too.

if I can’t borrow more on my credit card, I will still make the monthly payments.
same thing with treasury. They will pay the monthly debt service of outstanding notes. Govt revenue doesn’t change.

David Plouffe “strategist”, will read and explain. Mr Walsh and other Normal People must be doing something right, the NY Times has lost total control over their collective bladders. What have we come to they ask, when we can’t wreck a nation. They regard this as a birthright, superior intellect and all that.
Has Geithner caught up with his taxes? We’re all in this together, or supposed to be.
