The Next Epic Battle: Scott Keadle Vs Richard Hudson in NC-8

With the Wisconsin recall behind us and the Texas Senate race scheduled for the end of the month, we must remember that there is an important battle taking place in North Carolina next Tuesday.

Conservative Scott Keadle – who has been endorsed by Red State, the Club for Growth, Citizens United, and the Madison Project – will be facing off against establishment-hack Richard Hudson in a runoff-election to face faux blue dog Democrat Larry Kissell in North Carolina District 8.  This is a conservative district and is ripe for picking this November; however, we must pick off the seat with the right Republican.

Throughout this election season, we have seen a number of candidates run to the right during primaries in the hope that voters will fail to look into their souls.  Most House candidates are successful at this endeavor, especially those without a record in public office.  After all, they can tell voters anything, and there’s not much information to refute their claims.

One such creature is Richard Hudson.  Hudson talks the talk of an intrepid conservative, yet there are clear warning signs to the contrary for anyone who understands the political dynamic of establishment Republicans.

Hudson has served as a Chief of Staff to establishment Republicans on the Hill for years.  He served as the top aid to a member who voted for the debt ceiling deal and the omnibus bill in 2011 – the two worst pieces of legislation to come out of Congress that year.  Somehow he just wasn’t strong enough to convince his boss to vote the right way, assuming he tried at all.

While Hudson tosses out the red meat on God, guns, and babies (who wouldn’t in a southern district?), he has shown himself to be wanting on issues pertaining to free markets and government intervention.  He has sent out mailers hitting Keadle’s support for free trade as a gift to China – a typical talking point we hear from Barack Obama.  He also loves himself some  subsidies.

Most importantly, you can tell a man by his friends and supporters.  Hudson, who came of political age at the feet of the Republican establishment, is being supported by all establishment players.  In fact, Young Guns Action Fund is so scared of Keadle’s promise to challenge leadership that they are running ads and mailers against him all over the district.  The only other Republican who has incurred negative attacks by Young Guns was Richard Mourdock when he was challenging Dick Lugar.  It appears that they are as confident in Hudson’s support as they were in Lugar’s.  Hudson has also received support from Kevin McCarthy, John Boehner, and Paul Ryan’s PACs.  Now there is word that American Action Network will be coming to Hudson’s aid with anti-Keadle ads.

Welcome to Lugar vs. Mourdock 2.0.  There’s a reason the establishment fears Keadle; he will not be co-opted.

We bemoan, complain, and protest the lack of a conservative direction in the Republican Party.  Well, it’s elections like this where we can actually make a difference.  Are you all in for Scott Keadle?

is another candidate that could use Red States support. He is running for the Senate in the primary against Bob Corker. Corker voted with Obama 61% of the time. I know stats can be manipulated, but Eagle Forum gives him the same rating as Sen Snow, 53%, which is really sad for a conservative state like TN. Corker voted for TARP, Cash for Clunkers, to raise debt ceiling, even to appoint Eric Holder. I left his camp when he began to work with the Dems on their financial bills. That was the last straw. Sen Corker embodies the term RINO. Poskevich is a true conservative, a true Constitutionalist, even named his first child Reagan – hows that for devotion to the conservative cause! Corker has lots of money and power, but I think TN is ready to rid itself of these fake Republicans like Corker.

Here is what put me firmly behind Zach
“I believe in American Exceptionalism and make no apologies for our innovation and entrepreneurship which led to a higher standard of living in America and around the world. America was founded on Biblical principles and since its inception has been what President Reagan called, ?a shining city upon a hill whose beacon light guides freedom-loving people everywhere.? Today, many Americans do not understand the cost or the value of that freedom.

The moral, economic and political decay we are seeing is being driven by the minority view. It is time for the majority view… the silent majority? to rise up and confront this evil. Redistribution of wealth, class warfare, envy, promotion of rights that involve government handouts and direct threats against the Constitution of the United States of America are evil and must be fought against at every level of government.

It is our responsibility as God-fearing people to confront the evil in our society. To stay silent is acceptance. Each individual has a decision to make; whether to be part of the solution or part of the problem. I choose to be part of the solution. Silence is acceptance and acceptance is not an option.”

Hope Daniel and the readers here can give some support, publicity and momentum behind Zach, who I know will work for the goals we conservatives have of restoring this nation.

My tea party group supports Zach and I will too.

So gad to hear it!!! TN & America really needs this guys badly!!!

Scott Keadle MUST win! We need him to win this seat for Conservatives. I don’t want to hear anything like a “conservative can’t win here”. Help Scott Keadle win this election…PLEASE!

About Zach Poskevich: Living near the TN border, I would be more than happy to see Senator Corker defeated in an upset. However, I fear this may not happen because there are other “conservatives” running: http://www.commercialappeal.com/news/2012/jun/10/divided-tennessee-tea-party-could-miss-opportuniti/

Senator Corker is not as bad as Senator Alexander (Tennesseeans should get serious and start looking for a challenger for him!), but TN can do MUCH better. (Also…TN’s governor is pathetic…vetoing a bill protecting religious freedom and claiming to care about the constitution…SAD :( )!

he can increase his name recognition in his run against Corker which might position him to run against Lamar in 2014, and perhaps send a message to Corker this time around that folks are paying attention to his voting record.

            Done!

Zach Poskevich in 2014 against Democrat Lamar Alexander that is a real thought.

My problem is that I can not find out enough information on Zach Poskevich.

Is he just another wet behind the ears youngster, like Weston Wamp?

Just who is he? Facts and figures and experience documented please someone.

          • Melody Warbington (rwm52)

but I appreciate both the young and lady part of your post.

Honestly, I don’t know much about Poskevich other than what I’ve been able to pull from a Google search and what I’ve read on his site. I’m trying to see what I can find out from some GOP contacts in Chattanooga. As previously noted, if I still lived in TN, I’d vote for Zach in the primary (unless I get info that he’s a loon) for the reasons stated: to help his name recognition for future races and to send Corker a message.

Compared to this evil old man in TN,
You are what I say, hands down.
You have the same problem I have no information on him.
Not a good start for someone to fill a six year seat.

Zach has the endorsement of several Tea Parties in Tennessee!

    • inaudiblenoise

Tennesseans didn’t want Corker 6 years ago when he bought his way into the Senate. The conservative vote was split in the primary and Corker won because of that. That is the same reason why we have a RINO for governor as well.

Take a listen to Mark Levin talking about how Corker bought his win. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xcssal_mark-levin-bob-corker-is-a-coward_news

      • mikeymike143

plenty of people dont want corker.

        • ww2nd95

But Tennessee is a moderate state, though solidly red. It’s going to be difficult for Poskevich to pull it off. He doesn’t have the name recognition nor the money, as that article said, he’s raised 40k to Corker’s 10 million..

Go for it, he has voted with Obama to much for my liking, just don’t get your hopes up.

          • inaudiblenoise

Zach Poskevich has been traveling the entire state for months on end. When people meet him, they back him. Yes, name id is the tough part and Red State could be a huge help in that regard.

  • spoasteph97

that Paul Ryan would engage in helping the RINOs. I still like Rep. Ryan, but I would never think of him to be in the same league as Reps. Cantor and McCarthy. (I know the whole “Young Gun” thing…but I thought Rep. Ryan was better than that.) SIGH….

  • ihateliberals

In my state it is too late to select someone that isn?t a RINO. Bill Shuster was able to get his opponent disqualified by saying he didn?t get enough signatures two days before the qualifying date. The Opponent was a very conservative DC outsider and was up by double digits in the polls. Shuster claims he is a conservative but he votes liberal 65% of the time. He never sponsors a bill but brags about the good work he does. He has been riding his father’s legacy for years and hasn’t been challenged until now. I?m sure he isn?t the only RINO that got on the ballot by underhanded shenanigans. If we expect to change congress we have to know about these people well in advance of the Primaries. Shuster might still lose this time because for the first time in many years he has been challenged not only in the primary but now there is a Democrat running against him that might just beat him. Even though he is a RINO he is better than a Democrat but a true conservative would have been nice. People have to come to the realization now that their Senators and Represnatives are not local candidates anymore. More than ever we need to fight for candidates in other states no matter what they are doing on the local scene it is the Nation scene that is important. jA Senator from Nebraska is very important to me in PA because just like in 2009 a Nebraska Senator gave us Obamacare. He was doing a great job locally but look what he did to ur country.

Another example is Ohio’s 8th house seat, john Boehner. I was campaigning against him in 2010. A good friend of mine got very angry with me because he said Boehner was responsible for many local projects that helped the district. I presented the argument about his doings on a National basis and now he has changed his mind. His state representatives can take care of getting those projects anyway Boehner sold out the Party just to defeat the Tea Party. Look what that has gotten us. NOTHING conservative.
