Where’s the truth meter when you need it?

Crazy Claims

From his speech at Hampton University, Obama tells us the the modern day media (a.k.a. anything outside the liberal media) “…bombards us with all kinds of content and exposes us to all kinds of arguments, some of which don’t always rank all that high on the truth meter…”. Hey, at least he is admitting how much coverage the White House receives. Talk about reporters needing to carry a truth meter!

He also pointed out to the students that “…some of the craziest claims can quickly claim traction…” from blogs and talk radio. I’m sure he was thinking of the liberal blogs and all the liberal talk shows out there, oh wait, scratch that last one.

Then there is this little gem, “All of this is not only putting new pressures on you, it is putting new pressures on our country and on our democracy.” Wow, so talk radio, blogs, xbox, ipods, and playstations are pressuring our democracy now.

I wonder, was he playing video games during all those constitutional law classes during college? Last time I checked, we had a REPUBLIC. If we had a democracy, in which everyone got to vote on each law, we wouldn’t be trying to dislodge that huge lump (socialized medicine) that got jammed down our throats earlier this year now would we?

I wonder when we are going to be told what we can play, what we can listen to, what blogs we can read, and which cartoons we are allowed to read (for the greater good and all)? Can you say Net Neutrality?

“Electronic media makes it easy for those who oppose my agenda, to expose it to those who in past years would have blindly followed along. “

Once again the Minister of Propaganda has complained about the “opposers”. We need to be careful. Since we completed the census he knows where we live. Watch out if you go to meeting in a beer hall.

The way that Obama always talks to people like he is teaching them something. It’s as if he doesn’t think anyone can possibly get by without his advice.
We have been doing it all wrong.
All these years we thought that having free access to all sorts of media and information was a good thing until Obama told us how it just fills our little heads with all sorts of silly notions about free will and Constitutional rights.
    We’re so easily distracted.

    Don’t worry though.
He is gonna’ change all that.

“With iPods and iPads and Xboxes and PlayStations, — none of which I know how to work”

The President who was famous during the campaign for his Blackberry addiction can’t figure out how to use an iPad?

Why is it we never hear this genius actually make the case for his policies and beliefs? He doesn’t present arguement, only assertion. For rebuttal he substitutes ridicule. Now he is making subtle threats against open debate. (I know it’s nothing new.) When I hear him making statements like this I can picture him actually fantasizing about running unopposed to as our next “democratically” elected president.

    And the band plays on.

is guaranteed under the constitution. He can complain all he wants, but he can’t actually do anything about it. Good thing all those elected officials up there in Washington are sworn to protect our First Amendment rights. Whew, so glad we don’t live in commie land where ‘free speech’ means you can say whatever The Party says you can say, and no more. November 2012 cannot come soon enough.

There are countless ways a devious thin-skinned egomaniac like Obama can stifle the free exchange of ideas, particularly with this cesspool of a Congress to follow his lead.

      • 4life

I was being sarcastic, but somehow that is hard to convey in the written word. I completely agree with you. His speech sounds alot like commie land talk to me.

It’s so much easier to do this stuff face-to-face.

Maybe we could get Erick and his minions to give us a few extra emoticons to play with. ;-) Or not.

Along with the most venerated lie, “free speech, our most important freedom”. Boy, things are really changing fast. Our little Hitler has absolutely no patience.
I wonder if any of the LittleLibs are beginning to wake up? I know the media is loving it, all those years of hate finally paying off.

all the hollywood types were so scared of the “cold chill” that Bush was putting on free speech?

    What a joke.

New poll results put out today by a subsidiary of Merriman River group show Charles Djou (R) has the lock on the HI-01 race. Djou 39 percent, his two dem opponents are at 25 each. The kicker is more than a 1000 likely voters were polled and 52 percent had already voted. Of those Djou got 45 percent.

Right here, right now its an embarrassment because HI-01 is Obama’s home district. For all intents & purposes we won this one.

Some on RS do stats well and could break down further what these numbers mean, but where is the media hype on this new poll? MSM being oddly quiet aren’t they?

If kirk pulls that one out we’d get both his old haunts. Wonder if kenya is running any elections this year. It’d be like a triple crown winner. (kidding, just kidding. not a birther. )
