Woody Allen Dictator Comment

From the L.A. Times: Woody Allen would like Obama to become a Dictator for a few years.

How many times during the eight years of Bush’s administration did we hear that GWB was trying to become a dictator? How many conservatives ever called on Bush to become a dictator?

Mr. Allen, the constitution was written for people who think the way you think. There is a reason that the powers of the government are supposed to be separated, and not in the hands of a single person. There is a reason that one party can “get in the way” of another party. Our founders were trying to prevent the formation of another tyranny in the world.

Woody, please go back and learn some history. I figured you, of all people, would know how dictatorships turn out. Specifically, go back and learn about the dictatorship of a guy named Adolf.

      The libs in Hollywood love the ‘progressive’ tax idea so much, then maybe we need a truly progressive tax. Not one that they can get out of because they earn so much more than the average American.

      Let’s tax them with 80, 90, 95% of their earning per movie. Its for the little people.

        Most of the entertainment industry revenue is in “residual income”, so making a single movie will pay you for years and years. By liberal thinking, thiis is “unearned” income. If it’s ok to tax capital gains out of existance, it should be ok to go after income from royalties at 80%.

    Barry has been governing against the will of people for 16 months! How much more damage do you libs want to inflict on the country??!! Apparently, you would all like to see . . . .

    — more government takeovers

    — more safety awards and environmental exemptions for gulf oil rigs
    — more campaign contributions top Barry and the Dems from the very oil companies that run the rigs
    — more union thuggery
    — more corruption
    — more pedophile school czars
    — more unvetted radicals appointed to positions of responsibility
    — more Marxism
    — more entitlement programs
    — government control of free speech and the free flow of information on the Internet
    — more terrorist attacks on our country and people
    — more illegal immigrants to drain our resources
    — more floods, oil spills, and earthquakes that BHO can exploit as opportunities to play more golf

    Thanks, but no thanks.

    Anyone who see the “Balance of Powers” as nothing more than an obstruction or impediment clearly has no respect for our representative government, and is clearly broadcasting that they wish nothing more than to overthrow it.

    The intellectual set had about the same though regarding Mousolini in the early 1930′s; democracy was simply too weak and too messy to be effective, and there were so MANY good things he wanted to get done.

    Of course, there were some significant differences between Italy in the 30′s and America today. Mousolini was the center of a cult of personality, and Italy was suffering through a long-term economic downturn, and had a large, undeducated, permanent underclass that was easily swayed by a slick media campaign promising them other people’s money, the country was beset by an endless series of crises…

    Never mind.

    The thing with leftists is they never seem to see the irony in their proclamations and ideas. Currently, they’re talking about government controlling the internet, they’re talking about government deciding free speech ought to depend on the potential harm it could do (to the government), they’re talking about surrendering national sovereignty via uncontrolled borders and submission to the UN, they’re talking about (and in some cases actually doing it) confiscation of industries and the profits they make, and so on. Yet they persist, presumably with a straight face, in the notion it is the ‘right wing extremists’ hell-bent on making us a fascist dictatorship, all the while ignoring that virtually all of the dictatorships of the past 100 years have arisen from leftist/socialist-communist ideology.

    For a bunch of people who pride themselves in being so much smarter than the rest of us, they sure are a pack of dolts. Unfortunately, being in power makes them dangerous dolts. Like a child with a loaded gun, few things are more prone to hurt people than a leftist with a lot of power.

With all the other things Dems have tossed over the side, don’t think for a moment democracy matters to them. Their sado/masochistic nature would welcome repression.

    That’s why his statement got some coverage, just to see the reaction to it. Wonder how the O is going to handle losing the house and senate in the Fall? Will he suddenly become concerned and suspend all election results he doesn’t like until “investigations are complete”? Or will he wait quietly for his own impeachment hearings?
