Did they ever see the cars keyed by Code Pink, the store fronts broken and even railroad tracks attacked by ANSWER, did they ever not the attacks SEIU has made on peaceful demonstrators, or paid any attention to the filth and garbage lefty mobs leave wherever they gather?
The left is oblivious and irrelevant. I think that’s why this issue has become so important to them, because they see their beliefs and significance falling by the wayside of history.
Socialistic ideas are over 150 years old and have created murders and mayhem throughout the world from the old USSR to Chavez without ever producing a successful nation. The time for the left is up.

I wonder if the good Sheriff had one of those on his cop car?

And the vast majority of Americans totally totally get the silliness of the smear attacks. I was going to say that you deserve 5s on both conception and execution, but instead I’ll stick with extraordinary!

This and Ben’s post from yesterday should be crammed up the Sherriff’s nose as the 2 theses.

Maybe, but it wasn’t rush, or mark levin, or michael savage:

This conscience dreaming stuff is right off of Coast to Coast radio. 3/24/2007, a show on lucid dreams, right about the same time Loughner confronted Ms. Giffords with his bizarre questions at a townhall. According to a friend, the answers that Ms. Giffords gave Loughner caused some type of grudge. This was long before anyone had heard of Sarah Palin or Jesse Kelly. George Noory has had several shows on lucid (conscience) dreaming.

Ditto to the conspiracy theories of government mind control. Several programs on government mind control featuring victims and specialists who deprogram the

Years ago I experienced it with ~80% of my dreams for a period of time. I found it odd and intriguing, I suppose I could see how it could put someone on ‘the edge’ over it.

the Sheriff. Local State Rep. Jack Harper said that the location of the shooting was the Sheriff’s jurisdiction and that there should have been a deputy assigned to the meet and greet. The local news tried to get a comment from the Sheriff about this, but unbelievably the never camera shy Dupnik did not answer the newspaper’s repeated calls for comment.

“In fact, it was his jurisdiction for law enforcement,” Harper continued. “He should have had a law enforcement officer there.”

under the bus by his left-wing media manipulators. Watch for him to be made the scapegoat for excesses by reporters and opinion columnists more than a 1,000 miles away from him.

He deserves it, by the way, but we need to keep the heat on the left-wing media that tried to use this horror to suppress dissent.

…radar” angle, (after all, we don’t have all the facts and shouldn’t jump to conclusions), Sheriff Dupnik has certainly behaved unprofessionally and
jeapordized chances for a successful (i.e., needle) prosecution of the gunman:

        1. Poisoned the jury pool. Have to assume his appearances have received heavy rotation on local news and defense team will drill down heavily on first impressions.
        2. Given a competent defense team an opening for an insanity defense.
        3. Given a competent defense team a lever to create reasonable doubt around Sheriff’s dept. investigators’ testimony.

Someone on talk radio yesterday mentioned the Pima Co. Sheriff in the same breath as Mike Nifong, the disgraced Durham prosecutor in the so-called Duke
Rape case. Last thing a civic mediocrity like Dupnik should be doing is drawing attention to himself.

I was saying the exact same thing to some friends yesterday. By the weekend he will be thrown under the bus and been made their little scapegoat.

I lived in Tucson for 7 years before moving to metro Phoenix. He’s very much like his counterpart in Maricopa County, but on the opposite side of the political spectrum. The big difference is that, unlike Joe Arpaio, Dupnik is not a shameless media whore. Also, being in a much smaller media market that is willing to ignore him helps too.

    • aesthete

This cat runs the Tucson police dept. HORRIBLY. The department goes after petty crime and petty criminals, and takes its sweet time with the parts of the city prone to gang violence and property crime. My neighborhood is one of the most crime-ridden ones in Tucson, and I have seen many more cops patrolling nice areas like Rita Ranch than my neighborhood, or others of similar lawlessness. The police in Tucson as a rule are rude, condescending, unprofessional, and capricious: I had one walk up to me and very rudely *demand* that I throw away a candy wrapper which I had accidentally dropped on the ground, and which I clearly meant to throw away in a garbage can.

(This sort of pettiness and abuse of authority on the part of the Tucson police is common.) There are problems with corruption on the force, and substance abuse is endemic to the officers. Dupnik has decided for these last two years that the things in Tucson that warrant his attention most are 1) announcing that he will not be enforcing the new immigration bill (even though the law changes nothing), and 2) wailing about the Culture of Hate

It’s the immediate crass exploitation that is the problem, not the phantom of mean words from political opponents before the action.

But then again when the other side is making massive mistakes, who am I to tell them to stop digging themselves deeper?

“The sheriff, who celebrates his 75th birthday today, is understandably defensive. He had no officers at Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’ Saturday open-air get-together in a shopping parking lot. Just the sight of a parked patrol car near a federal officeholder might have discouraged a troublemaker.

Indeed, Dupnik’s deputies didn’t arrive at the carnage scene until summoned by frantic 911 callers. By then, officers didn’t even have to capture the suspected….
…shooter, Jared Loughner. Several brave, unarmed crowd members had already subdued the man; good thing they did because the kid still had ammo for his 9-millimeter Glock semiautomatic”

Amazingly, since several outlets have been questioning the lack of protection , The Sheriff has been strangely silent.

  • Scope

The Sheriff admitted on one of his many TV interviews that Loughner had made other death threats, and he admitted that they were recently. There are some quotes out there from people that called to file complaints against Loughner that they were told he was being handled properly in the mental health system. Tonight, Fox reports that there were no AZ mental health agencies that had ever seen or heard of Loughner. Uh Oh. I’ve also read that the good Shriff told some complaining that it would be best if they didn’t press charges against Loughner, because he had a family member that worked for Pima County. His mother is the Natural Resources Director for Pima County. As pure speculation, did Dupnik protect Jared as a favor to another Pima county official? I’m quite certain it will all come out some day in the FBI reports from their investigation. It seems he is trying to call out the hostile media now, and get a jump on those that one day will be looking into his culpability.

  • Goldwater_Conservative

for why we dont need our sheriff to be an elected position. The county judge should be over the sheriff and it be purely on law enforcement merit not political pandering. This is truly embarrasing as he continues to talk about everything except the actual facts of the case. I guess at this point he figures he has made his bed, now lie in it.

  • 6eorge Jetson

who didn’t even bother to interview the witness, when cripes, the politics were obvious.
