Florida Voters Realize Charlie Crist is an Orange Opportunist

A couple of weeks have passed since Charlie Crist abandoned the GOP to run as an independent. The orange man moved his campaign into a lingerie shop and started renouncing his allegedly long held positions on life, education reform, etc.

And guess what?

He is now nosediving in the polls.

Rubio leads according to Rasmussen at 39% to Crist’s 31% to Meek’s 18%.

And to think after Crist jumped ship, a few Republican hacks started blaming Jim DeMint and me for losing Florida.

Couldn’t happen to a nicer RINO.

It’d be funny now if Orangeman finished third.

Since we peeled away the outer layer to reveal his true character, does that make Crist an….

    ready..

    Orange RINd-O?

that you and Mr. DeMint REALLY know better than they do??? Just sayin’…

Crist is on the verge of announcing the openly gay Democrat Eric Johnson as his new campaign manager. Johnson was the chief of staff to Crist friend Congressman Robert Wexler.
PLUS, he’s about to veto the pro-life bill just passed by the Florida legislature. It requires women seeking abortions to be shown sonograms of their “blob of tissue” they are about to kill- uhm- I mean, take care of…. Crist has called the bill “mean-spirited”. I think killing an innocent life is about as mean-spirited as you can be, Governor.

Oh, yeah – *me* for one!! :)

And please give us the names of the Republicans and/or bloggers who had the audacity to try and blame this Crist mess on you (or us), so I can add them to the **** file.

(And, yes – I do predict: when all is said and done, Crist will finish in 3rd place behind Rubio (and Meek, most likely…).)

That’s about the best thing I can read, next to “[Crist] is now nosediving in the polls.”

Here in upstate NY (particularly in my neighboring district), we are finding that Republicans are a much bigger problem for us than Democrats. In CD-19, we are about to have a Republican woman, Nan Hayworth, who is not only married to an abortionist but also is pro-choice and pro-amnesty, nominated for the primary to face John Hall, while we have 3 other Republican candidates better for the position than she is. This is NY-23 all over again and people are screaming. It’s this horrendous infestation of inbred and crony RINOs at the local level that is the toughest nut for conservatives to crack. At the state and national level things seem to be much better for us.

Very illuminating and depressing, getting involved on the local level. Not for the faint of heart or weak of stomach.

but is it to early to start a pool on when he polls below Meek’s numbers?

  • partyof1

    Listen to yourself.

You think that Orange people are so different from me and you?
They came to this country just like everybody else, in search of a dream.
Crist may be Orange, but now he’s a full fledged American.
    You’re an anti-Orangite.
Oh it starts with a few jokes and some slurs; “Hey, Orangey!”
Next thing you know you’re saying they should have their own party.

  • JadedByPolitics

will be the FINAL NAIL in Crists coffin! though perhaps it is the second to last what with not signing that PRO-LIFE bill is the one that nails it shut! What a disgusting petty little man! The National GOP certainly knows how to pick the SCUM of the Party that is for sure!

I knew it was only a temporary bounce. The newspapers down here have been hammering Crist since he went independent. No one likes him and he really doesn’t understand that little fact.

  • RINKER

Lol. That’s what Jim Geraghty at National Review Online called him. PERFECT.

  • jeffreywturner

And that additional 7% will be substantially all from Crist’s current numbers, putting him about even with Crist.

What would be awesome is if we see Rubio get an actual majority in the 3-way race, thereby robbing Crist of the opportunity to say that he even impacted the race. Total irrelevancy for a RINO. I LOVE IT.

  • kuksool

I predict Meek will drop out and Crist will claim to be an non partisan independent while secretly accepting money from Dem donors.

I wonder if Crist will even make it to the general election. He is so phony, unprincipled, and now rather bitter!

They are so liberal that we just don’t discuss politics much at family gatherings. It’s interesting that they and their friends voted for Crist for governor. I believe that they plan to vote for him in this election regardless of whether he is R, D, or I. I know that they are happy that he left the Republican Party. I, of course, don’t know how many other like minded people there are in FL but I guess there are more than a few. Crist now being an independent may do more to split the Democratic vote then the Republican. Maybe the latest poll data tends to back that up.

  • crassus

We need to bury Crist now. We need to expose him as a total fraud- worse than Arlen Specter. Crist is just such a fraud I don’t think that he could stand a bib blitz right now.

  • uselogic

Orlando Sentinel and their columnists were cheering him on for showing up those mean ol’ Conservatives. Now even these bozos are recognizing that most people think the Orange One is lying, two-faced, narcissistic varmint.

  • RedBeard

But can we say for sure that Orangism is a product of nature instead of nurture? The debate rages.

Crist has been out there mugging it up for the cameras and at the same time really upsetting people who counted on him to do the right thing and support whoever won the primary. His flippant attitude and joking around about how he has betrayed the GOP isn’t earning him respect. I hope he keeps it up as it shows his character.

Rubio comes across as an honest man who has integrity and this appeals to a lot of independents, not just conservatives and republicans.

I’m very proud to be supporting Rubio and would encourage everyone at RS to donate $25 to the future senator from Florida so he can go to Washington and turn back the Obama assault on American liberty.

Check out the new, hard-hitting web ad against @charliecristfl — and this one’s not from @marcorubio.

..has the Christmas party pictures of Crist. His whole entire support structure is made up of the closet gays in Tallahassee. Everyone knows what they are all about, but no one can produce the photos. Someone will, eventually….

Ed F. Cox has got to go. He’s pushing his son in Long Island. It’s pathetic. He brought in Steve Levy (former Dem) as a candidate. Strange thing is the local county chairs would have supported Giuliani’s pick for state GOP head, but they all wanted a strict assurance from the former Mayor that he would run for Governor. Giuliani wouldn’t do it. So Nixon’s former son-in-law runs the show in NY state. He was behind Scozzafava, even after she backed the Dem! Called it a “very emotional decision.” It’s a nightmare is what it is.

Charlie has ALWAYS been an opportunistic chameleon.

He has accepted money from Democrat donors for quite some time; nothing new there; just check out the fundraisers held in Orlando sponsored by John Morgan of Morgan & Morgan and the many liberal donors that attended.

Conservatives knew this but, at the time, he was the best choice we had for Governor. We DO NOT want him entrenched in Washington as a Senator!

If all of Charlies TRUE colors are ever shown, people will be shocked! Just keep digging, you’ll see!

Maybe in the General, but Tom Gallagher (*) was a much better candidate in the Primary. Too bad he lost.

(*) There were a few questions about Gallagher’s conservative bona fides as well, but nothing like Crist. Sadly, none of the dwarves running in 2006 had Jeb’s (the Good Bush) stature. As ColdWarrior will surely say, that’s our fault as FL residents for not becoming PCs.
