Blanche Lincoln Beats the Left

But the right will defeat Lincoln come November.

As Moe noted, Blanche Lincoln is the Democrats’ nominee in Arkansas. She is the incumbent the leftroots and SEIU tried desperately to defeat.

A White House official told the Politico,

“Organized labor just flushed $10 million of their members’ money down the toiled on a pointless exercise,” the official said. “If even half that total had been well-targeted and applied in key House races across this country, that could have made a real difference in November.”

The left is out spinning ferociously now. Markos Moulitsas, whose DailyKos led the effort to defeat Lincoln, commissioned a poll showing Bill Halter would beat Lincoln.

He did not.

Now Moulitsas is saying Halter would have been a better nominee in the general election — something no polling except his own (the same one showing Halter would win the primary) has shown. Others on the left are claiming the primary challenge pushed Lincoln’s votes to the left in the Senate.

In fact, Lincoln was the first of the establishment Democrats to run to the right of Barack Obama and bash, in commercials, Washington and the Democrats. Her rhetoric saved her.

There are three important points that people need to pay attention to:

(1) Lincoln did not run as a moderate, she ran as a conservative oriented populist against Obamacare and the left.

(2) The SEIU and Leftroots poured millions into defeating Lincoln that cannot now be spent elsewhere. Meanwhile, online conservative activists have picked off Bob Bennett and picked up Nikki Haley, Maro Rubio, Pat Toomey, Rand Paul, Sharron Angle, and will continue winning.

(3) The online left has tried its best to destroy Rasmussen’s credibility. Meanwhile, Research 2000 gets another one wrong on behalf of the online left.

Boozman should win easily in November.

  • redpens

I’m glad they did. HAHAHA!!! Blood vessels are bursting on the left tonight.

  • mostlygood

is on full display. it would have been hilarious to watch halter throw them under the bus though.

under the bus to win the general.

  • jaybo

This is just one example of their slanted polling that seems to favor whatever candidate (or opinion) they hold.

Tarkanian in third in Nevada. What should have been a relatively easy pickup is now a tight race.

Perusing headlines on far left google news, I see the NY Times and AP are framing it as “well, obviously the idea that there’s anti-incumbent feeling has been disproved because Blanche Lincoln was re-elected.” Implication of course that Obama has just been reaffirmed and validated. I didn’t read their whole story, I just like to see how they frame things..

He’d pull them out and cozy up afterward if he DID win. And IF Lincoln should pull it out in November running to the right, how long before she’s back in bed with Hawwy Weid and the unions? There is no such thing as a moderatDemocrat. No. Such. Thing.

  • Adjoran

If not for their “favorable” treatment under the TARP II takeover of GM and Chrysler and the payoff, I mean “stimulus” bill, the unions wouldn’t have been able to afford this expense.

But any exercise which ends up with union-controlled money not buying what the unions want is a beneficial one for America.

  • bostinks2

thru unions spending 10 mil in union dues should upset members because of the waste. that money could have been used to actually help their future retirement and and healthcare coffers. and possilble aid in the unions to provide better services. What is most delectable is their idea to persuade thru power ideology was defeated.

  • antisocial

And then Unions would have spent millions again in the election.

Not that I mind the loss of 10 million.

For them, getting Lincoln elected is still far better than seeing Boozman get the spot. So I expect they will still spend a lot of money, regardless of whether it would be to try to get Lincoln or Halter elected. We should be happy that the less progressive won, just on the chance that Boozman goes down to defeat. Lincoln is pretty bad, but not as bad as Halter would have been.

The real plan of action is to support Boozman, and don’t even look in your rearview mirror.

The Question: Bill put a little on the line for Blanche in getting her this far, but will be be able to make up for the loss of union money in the general?
We he even try? Obama about to become 1 for 3.

Democrats, including labor, will rally ’round Lincoln, but maybe without so much enthusiasm and without the National online mob and their money. That said, the foundations, non-profits, and other cabals that really are what’s behind Democrats these days won’t let the seat go R without a fight; they’ll be in even if holding their noses. Something a lot of people on the Right should learn to do.

Not that they won’t get away with it. But they’ll have to cheat. All the money in the world won’t get that scarlet letter off her forehead.
