Even the New York Times Notices

When even the New York Times notices Barack Obama’s ban on all offshore drilling is unreasonable, he has a serious problem.

More troubling, Barack Obama wants British Petroleum to pay for the losses rig operators are suffering because of his imposed ban. Does anyone really think they are reasonable for that? Seriously? More importantly, will the trust operator?

Probably not.

Obama is promising a bag of goods to people who are now out of work because he overreacted after underperforming for so long. He’s also trying to stick the cost on British Petroleum, a company that had absolutely nothing to do with this particular tragedy.

That won’t hold water and taxpayers will be left to foot the bill.

When even the New York Times notices how screwed up Obama overreacted, he has problems.

The Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association has warned that many of the affected rigs will seek to drill in other countries, imperiling roughly 800 to 1,400 jobs per rig, including third-party support personnel.

The securities firm Raymond James & Associates predicts that the moratorium could last well into 2011, directly jeopardizing 50,000 jobs and potentially gutting blue-collar communities that rely heavily on the economic activity that comes with deepwater work. “Just as the demise of auto plants and steel mills in the Upper Midwest devastated entire towns, an extended drilling ban could eventually have a similar effect in the Gulf Coast,” the company said in a report Monday.

This is called kicking an entire region of the country when it?s down.

(no pun intended) I suppose if you read between the lines, perhaps you could say that the NYT is indicting Obama on this. But I don’t really see anything explicit that says he should not have enacted the ban. The article simply details the negative results of it. I guess that’s a lot better than them running a piece that talks about all the gloriously green results that it (in their imaginations) will produce, which would be their normal approach. So this is probably the best we could hope for from the NYT.

This administrations dream come true. Shut down off shore drilling in America using spill as an excuse and have a big fat cat company from another country foot the bill so that the workers will be compensated for not working. It’s not Obamas fault, after all, he is “looking out for the people.” He’s really outdone himself. Look at how many birds he’s killed with one stone (and alittle bit of oil).

We constantly ask,”Where is the transparancy that Obama promised?” Well, I”d say, that he is the most transparent President ever.

push, which even without this spill would have been difficult for the media to lie about.
If and when you grasp the unpalatable idea that the moratorium is consistent with the passion to damage America and it’s people, it starts to make a kind of sense. It’s not all about incompetence.

in early May. I hate to be a conspiracy theorist, but I’m beginning to believe this is not just gross incompetency, but a deliberate attempt to destroy red state economies. They don’t give a rat’s *** about LA. This will just give them the excuse they need to regulate the oil/gas industries out of existence, which will lead to nationalization, & that is the end game.

It is no longer legally British Petroleum, it is now just BP, which I believe was supposed to stand for “Beyond Petroleum.” Remember they are trying to appear to be a green company.

She couldn’t recall the word “nationalization” but that’s essentially what she was calling for – a government takeover.

There’s a part of me that fears November will come too late to stop these clowns!

The greater implications, collectively, of Obama’s actions is that hehas destroyed — obliterated — the Middle Class. To me, in all seriousness, he appears to be “mentally ill” or have some other t ype of psychological and/or medical problems which affect one’s better judgment. Politics aside, he is not fit to lead.

It has now become critical that Republicans not fight amongst themselves and support our candidates, even if, like me, I don’t like the particular candidate the GOP has backed, I will still support her. Not to put too fine a point on it, the GOP cannot afford losses this year come November. The country is in a critical situation and sinking faster than the Titanic.

WAIT TILL WHEN THE OBAMA TAX PARADE BEGINS OCTOBER 1, 2010 with the destruction of capital gains, and then the taxes get ramped up Jan. 1, 2011. America will begin the decline into ghost towns of despair. That healthcare package will destroy us.

or Barak Petroleum as Drudge put it

Considering , George Soros’ Center for American Progress is the one who advised obama to issue the moratorium. Here’s what I got…
May 4th 2010- Center for American Progress asks Obama to appoint an independent commission to investigate the spill.
May 22nd 2010- Obama names independent commission to investigate spilll.
May 21st – CfAP ‘s John Podesta asks obama to name point man on disaster.
May 24th – Obama names Thad Allen to “point man”
May 26- CfAp tells Obama to demand $20bil escrow acct. for “victims”
June 16th- Obama demands and BP agrees to $20b escrow acct.

Center for American Progress, run and funded by George Soros , is advising Obama on the Oil Spill. Obama issues 6 month moratorium on drilling. Rigs sit idle. Brazil moves forward with their deep water drilling. A yr. $220 billion contract to drill in deeper water than the Horizon.
US makes loan to Brazil of $2million for ” offshore deep water oil drillingexploration and production”
George Soros owns $900 million in Petrobus Brazilian Oil Co. Stocks!

So basically , Soros tells Obama to stop US drilling, give Brazil money to drill, and Obama does. That has to be illegal. Not to mention BP is one of the first and largest supporters of Cap and Trade.
