1. The Tim Bridgewater Attack On Jim DeMint Continues

Tim Bridgewater’s supporters have set up and are pushing a website called the “Jim DeMint Takeover.”It contains just one post.It is a YouTube of Mike Lee, who is asked, “If you are elected as the new Senator from Utah, who will be your mentor and why?”Mike Lee’s response?“My mentor in the senate and among those who are still in the world of the living will be Jim Demint in whose endorsement I am pleased to have and who hails from South Carolina and who is an advocate of constitutionally limited government, and as I say the two of us together will build a coalition that will one day control the US Senate, to limit the size, scope, reach and cost of the federal government.”And the Bridgewater people hold this in contempt? What is wrong with these people? Please click here for the rest of the post.

2. John Oxendine’s Binder

It was actually a birthday present of sorts. I received the information from out of state from a third party group interested in Georgia’s elections, particularly those candidates who will be good or bad for business in the state. It’s a binder containing a professionally compiled opposition research briefing on John Oxendine, Republican gubernatorial candidate in Georgia. If the information is not used in the primary, it will definitely be used in the general election.I’ve said for some time that Oxendine is corrupt. I’ve had people in his own office tell me there are rumors of him ordering personnel to shred documents, but those employees instead smuggled the documents out of the office to be used against him. This binder confirms that. Oxendine has serious, serious problems and the binder is a compilation of publicly available documents, interviews with individuals, pictures, etc. that source the allegations. The binder is in three sections of more than 250 total pages. The first is the proven and easily provable. If you want a taste, I’ve scanned the first five pages as a PDF.Please click here for the rest of the post.

3. Rep. Joe Barton: Right, but at the wrong time

By now we’ve all heard about Rep. Joe Barton’s apology to BP for the government’s “shakedown” of forcing them to fund a $20B slush fund to pay for the Gulf oil spill damages. On the surface, Barton’s statement was correct, and he should not have had to apologize for it. But, he should never have said a word in the first place. Sometimes it is possible to be right, but at the wrong time. The issue here is not accuracy. The issue is polls and public opinion. Right now the public opinion against BP is overwhelming. A NYT/CBS News poll published today shows that over 3/4 of the public disapproves of BP’s handling of the spill. And amusingly, the public’s opinion of President Barack Obama’s handling of the spill is somewhat better, but not great – 47% approve of Obama’s actions. And last week, a USAToday/Gallup poll showed that Americans overwhelmingly believe Obama has not been tough enough on BP. In fact, that poll shows that 59% believe BP should pay all expenses – even if it drives BP out of business. Right, with a CEO who is attending yacht races and pictures of oily birds plastered across the media, there is no love lost for BP.Please click here for the rest of the post.

4. Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY) Cares a Lot About our Troops

She cares so much in fact, that she is really deeply committed to making sure that if they get accused of a crime, they get their day in court. In fact, just last week she sent a letter to a constituent, saying how confident she was that three Navy SEALs accused of punching a terrorist would get justice. There’s just one big problem. Oh yeah, it’s a big problem. Please click here for the rest of the post.

5. George W. Bush, Up to Evil Mischief Making Again!

After taking a quick rest from breaking up Al Gore’s marriage and from magically tricking President Obama into being an utterly incompetent failure, President Bush is now nefariously insinuating his way onto Facebook and Youtube. He recently released a video on the popular video sharing website, discussing his delving onto the Facebook scene and a little summary of what he’s been up to since leaving office. Well, besides the manufacturing of hurricanes and arranging for oil spills and such. Please click here for the rest of the post.

6. Boxer showing rare vulnerability for a California Democrat

I always hesitate to analyze the California Senate polling because I have strong feelings about it. I live here. I was engaged in the primary. But this is key to determining how big of a wave, if any, Republicans see in the Senate, so I must try.I’ve given enough time for both parties to settle down after the primaries, so here’s Rasmussen’s latest. Boxer leads Fiorina, but this is close. Please click here for the rest of the post.
