EDITOR OF REDSTATE

Mike Lee Will Be Utah’s Next Senator

They laughed at us last year when I said Bob Bennett needed to be taken out.

They called me crazy when I said the path to Florida from NY-23 ran through Salt Lake City.

They howled with laughter when I said Utah voters should replace Bob Bennett with Mike Lee.

They aren’t laughing tonight.

Mike Lee won. Nikki Haley won in South Carolina. RedState won.

To quote Moe Lane, “BOOM!”

I echo your sentiments and will quote the texts I sent around after the second round of voting in the state convention terminated Bob Bennett’s “CAREER” in the Senate:

    BOOOM BABY!

Yes, I’m irrationally happy tonight, indeed.

    And a succesful goodnoght.

But Scott, Duncan, Johnson, Randall, and Gowdy. The only loss: Bill Conner for SC LG.

I donated to Mike Lee’s campaign and believed in his cause to bring responsibility and accountability back to government. What an awesome night!
Despite the GOP establishment doing everything possible to derail Mike Lee and install a Bennett clone, we prevailed, conservatives prevailed and America prevailed.
So, where is that ‘game changing’ political play now, Tim Stewart? Unlike others, I’m not a gracious winner. In your face, pal!!!

Glad to see Lee winning, but I had nothing against Bridgewater until he started on Jim DeMint. Word to the wise . . . if you can’t run with the Big Dog, better stay under the porch.

Haley and Scott won over the old state establishment on a message of conservative reform and lower spending. Ard is okay, he’s a conservative, too.

Nationally, it’s another feather in Palin’s cap for her early endorsement which clearly turned the tide for Haley (Sarah even predicted the dirt that would be thrown). Big loser is Mike “The Tax Hike” Huckabee, who endorsed the low-life sleazeball scum Andre Bauer behind all the slander. Bauer finished last in a field of four and didn’t make the runoff.

You are becoming a powerful dude!

We knew whoever won tonight would be the next Senator for Utah, and it would have made no sense to replace Bennett with Bridgewater.

I’m so glad Mike won. He will make a great Senator, and I’m sure Senator DeMint can’t wait to work with him.

Hopefully DeMint will have a few other like minded people to work with next year, like Toomey and Angle.

Why, hello Ms. Norton. I barely noticed you there. How are you feeling?

  • propagandaink

He voted against the flag burning amendment to the constitution. Regardless of how far it would have made it, it was symbolic, but not symbolic of Utah values. Don’t ever forget, Clinton came in 3rd here.

    :)

Anyway, I sent his office an email after that vote and told him how out of touch he was and that he was on his way out. I received a templated return letter in the mail… and the last page cut off mid-sentence with nothing more behind it. Typical Washington. Treat the people like dirt. But i KNEW his time was over, long before it finally was.

I was one of those who got out in Utah and voted and I was proud to even send that Necro-Senator’s chosen candidate back to the darkness from which they both came. Damn it felt good.

Hatch is next, make no mistake. He’s DONE.

  • JadedByPolitics

with his LOVE songs to the Socialists in the Senate makes me sick to my stomach. That man hasn’t been a Conservative in too many years to count. He is the PERFECT example of the man who has been in Washington way too long!

  • mbecker908

And, thank God!, good bye Utah-Bennett-Bridgewater-Cherilyn Eager Trolls.

Oh and Mr. Hatch, that sound you hear is footsteps.

    Two fold Wahoooooo!!!

    1. Mike Lee won, and it’s most likely that he’ll go all the way… even if bridgewater or bennett decide to run as independent…

    2. We most likely will never have to hear from the Bridgewater shills ever again.

Utah law doesn’t allow it, the deadline to run as an independent is long before the state conventions and long since passed. The only option either has is to mount a write in campaign, which is a non-starter. You can’t just up and change parties last minute, I don’t know why every state doesn’t do it like Utah. Both have said they won’t do that and both have said they will actively support Mike Lee now. Because they both know they have no other option.

The party switcheroo is such a fraud and a ripoff to the voters in every case. If you want to be in a different party, register for that party before the election cycle.

instead of giving meaningful opposition to The One’s SCOTUS picks, thugocracy agenda, etc. Webster’s ought to have him pictured under the definintion of (disgusting) RINO.
