This is What Karma Looks Like: Alvin Greene Cleared

Alvin Greene went on unemployment. Democrats keep extending unemployment. Alvin Greene got enough to use as his qualifying fee. Karma.

After Alvin Greene won the South Carolina Democrats’ Senate nomination, House Democrat Whip Jim Clyburn (D-SC) immediately declared Alvin Green a “Republican plant”.

There was just no way in Clyburn’s mind that Greene could have come up with the $10,440.00 qualifying fee on his own. Well, you know what? The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) has concluded its investigation into Greene.

Turns out Greene saved up his own money to pay the qualifying fee.

Now, if this isn’t karma biting the Democrats on the butt, I don’t know what is. What’s Mr. Greene’s source of income? Those unemployment benefits the Democrats keep extending.

By the way, will Jim Clyburn apologize to his Senate nominee?

    Nope,

But Mr. Greene must be careful and not “fall down a flight of steps in the middle of the night”.

a young black man with no political experience and a questionable background.
    My how times have changed.

    Snicker.

He he he, it is to laugh.

    Bwahahahahahahahahahah !!!!

Unemployment checks are being used for something more than cigarette cartons and booze.

  • Richard Mullins

I don’t think that’s going to happen and all this is going to show that establishment Dems don’t like newcomers. I think we might use this against Jim Clyburn.

  • throwback59

miss campaign slogan for young Alvin, perfect for a bumper-sticker:

    FORGET “GREEN JOBS”…
HOW ABOUT A JOB FOR GREENE!

  • lukematthews

I mean, Jim Clyburn followed the storyline to its most obviously conclusion. Evil Republican pigs must of foisted a clearly unqualified candidate in order to pursue their evil capitalist ends. Greene was just a pawn in their twisted game. The narrative insists that a black man can not get a break in this country unless he’s fodder for the greedy wealthy machine. Finding out this guy paid his own ticket will never get aired properly because it makes the narrative sound untrue and even fundamentally racist at it core.

they blame others. Clyburn will say that Republicans made him say those things about Greene. Or maybe he’ll blame it on Bush. Either way, if he does apologize, it won’t be publicly. If it is publicly, the words “I’m sorry” won’t ever be uttered, but he will say “I was mistaken…”.

Question. If running for US Senate is Alvin Greene’s new job, does that mean he won’t be able to collect unemployment?

“Wink, wink, nudge nudge, he asks him knowingly..,”

  • Richard Mullins

Clyburn hates the fact that a black guy won the nomiation and it wasn’t him.

  • mustango

So the man actually saved up money? From time spent serving in the military? And spent, again, his own money on the filing fee?

I have trouble thinking of any way this man could possibly be more unqualified… to be a Democrat.

  • izoneguy

The democrats cannot believe that he “saved” money…

What is this you speak of? Save….

  • techsan

I’m sure she does want Dem candidates supported with government’s own money (union funds mostly)…just not in this way. Heh.

  • joecollins

He should have spent his campaign donations to campaign in the primary instead of saving for the general election.

He screwed up. Who wants a screw up for a senator? Obviously not the good people of South Carolina. Ha!

  • jisaacconnett

On what basis did SLED launch an investigation of Al Greene? Who approved the investigation? This is another example of an attempted political lynching. There was no indication of criminal activity, no evidence that Alvin Greene had done anything wrong. Heads should roll at SLED.

I was so down on the New Jersey country club republicans for – literally – throwing the race to the democrats after Schundler beat them in the 2004 gubernatorial primary, I could barely come around to trusting the system when they managed to get behind Chris Christie in 2008.

But this eating of their own seems a relatively new thing for the democrats… “Das Party uber alles” seems to have been replaced by “Heil Obama.” This is “the new thing” that is to be feared, that must be defeated. The party of Obama will no longer tolerate the two party system should it gain a second term. It is playing for keeps.

It never hurts to have “out of work former U.S. Senatorial Candidate” on your resume. He’s likely to be picked up as a lobbyist’s intern or something…

  • http://pocketchangeproductions.net/ anotherindyfilmguy

He’s not the “chosen candidate” etc.

  • http://pocketchangeproductions.net/ anotherindyfilmguy

I just realized it’s very likely the whole thing could be reverse psychology thing… by calling him a “Republican plant” etc they’re trying to boost his actual chances for election…

Should have seen it from the start…

in this depression, I have become a frugality expert (apparently second only to Alvin Greene, who btw favors liberating N Korea!!!! I seriously love that), but I would not want to serve any constituantcy that would hire me!

Not so for Mr. Greene, however.

Here is a story waiting to be reported on. Will the MSM pursue this?

For sure, it was an excellent question about where Mr. Greene got his money. But that’s a story for reporters and the general inquiring mind — *not* a government entity. Other than general curiosity, there was absolutely no basis for this investigation. Baring some justifiable reason (which I assume SLED would have announced it had, even if it didn’t provide specifics), Mr.Greene has an excellent case against South Carolina.

    Greene v. South Carolina.

    Go Greene, go!

  • Adjoran

Law-abiding civilians exercising their constitutional rights in a peaceful way and fully according to our election laws (well, Greene did fail to file his required Ethics disclosures – the instructions are included when you file for office and they send you reminders before the periodic filings are due – but this is a civil matter handled by the SC Ethics Commission, not SLED, the state police unit) get investigated . . . WHY, again? Because some people wondered where they came up with the filing fee?

That’s not a complaint, it’s an unfounded suspicion. SLED is being misused here for political reasons, and we need to rock the house to find out who.

Maybe we can shake out a few more from our corrupt state establishment from the investigation into the investigation.

can beat up their Greene AND Clyburn dolls. You gotta get full the set of three or they’re just no fun to play with. I do hope they come with matching accessories.

You are looking at this from the wrong perspective! Alvin Greene said a good jobs creation project would be start a business making action dolls of him in various uniforms. Let’s advance this idea a little bit. We could have male and female action dolls. Instead of Ken and Barbie, we could have dolls patterned on Alvin and Maxine Waters. Call them Alvin and Maxine! – in and out of uniform! I might even throw in a little seed money for that venture!!

  • tngal

i hope you got something else to put on ‘em. I’ve tried to imagine them
au naturale and – eeeewwwww. Some people you don’t want to see nekkid Politicians are one, parents are the other.
PS would Maxine come with matching purse and heels?

  • jisaacconnett

I was thinking, in this case, of not just action dolls, but political action dolls especially. Think about this! In the Democrat party, the possibilities for political action are really open ended. Think of Dick Morris and toe admiration, Billy Clinton and, and, and –, not to mention Mr. Edwards, who at least did contribute to national demographics. The Maxine doll could at least have a blue dress!! That would require some action.

The maximum unemployment benefit in SC is $326/week.

Greene has been unemployed for some 10 months, which means by now he’d have accumulated some $13,000. He would have had to spend *none* of that money, and who’s to say he’s getting the maximum benefit?

No, there’s a benefactor in here somewhere.

  • mschmitt

Add in the fact that he has no expenses, 10 months of unemployment, 6k exit pay from the military, and 3k from a tax refund for being unemployed; assuming he had no savings before.

I think it’s smart economics. He might not be able to land a gig as the night manager at a taco bell in this economy, but neither could Barry Obama.

  • taxmaiden

Unemployment checks were the fastest way to create jobs. So, there you go. Gee, she was actually right about something for once.
