What better way to GOTV with tea party activists in the primary… Buck is going to win this one.

  • randycorporation

Why should any of them lift a finger for him now?

  • gekster

Being active in my local Tea Party, I often ask people why they vote Democrat.
I get all sorts of answers.
I got this from my friend Saun, and it makes it easier for them.

When your friends can’t explain why they voted for Democrats, give them this list. They can then pick a reason .

    10. I voted Democrat because I believe oil companies’ profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn’t.

    9. I voted Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.

    8. I voted Democrat because Freedom of speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.

    7. I voted Democrat because I’m way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves.

    6. I voted Democrat because I believe that people who can’t tell us if it will rain on Friday can tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in ten years if I don’t start driving a Prius.

    5. I voted Democrat because I’m not concerned about the slaughter of millions of babies through abortion so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.

    4. I voted Democrat because I think illegal aliens have a right to free health care, education, and Social Security benefits.

    3. I voted Democrat because I believe that business should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as the democrats see fit.

    2. I voted Democrat because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would never get their agendas past the voters.

    1. I voted Democrat because my head is so firmly planted up my arse that I require a snorkel and a glass naval just to function, and that it is unlikely that I’ll ever have another point of view.

He bashed birthers, and froot loops like that deserve it.

TEA partiers with brains he never said anything about

Wow Norton is desperate. Cinamon must be sweating.

    from:
    http://www.coloradoan.com/article/20100725/UPDATES01/100725008/1002/rss

    excerpt:
“Will you tell those dumb—es at the Tea Party to stop asking questions about birth certificates while I’m on the camera,” Buck said to the worker while laughing. “God, what am I supposed to do?”

Asked about the comments on Sunday at a political rally in Adams County, Buck said he wishes he had used different language and that he had not lumped all Tea Party members into one statement, but that he remains frustrated that some people are focusing on birth certificates rather than the country’s $13 trillion debt and its $100 trillion in unfunded liabilities.

  • http://www.nighttwister.com NightTwister

That’s just a dumb move by Norton’s campaign. No one in Colorado has forgotten that McCain wanted to take our water.

spin it nicely. But can you unring a bell?

And I try to help them when I can,
allthough you do need a very big crowbar.

  • Scope

should be considered along the same lines as the O stumping for any Democrat.

Sorry I haven’t been keeping up with the Buck/Norton diaries/posts but, has everyone seen this article from the Denver Post?

    http://blogs.denverpost.com/thespot/2010/07/31/colorado-primary-election-poll-results/12702/

So, Norton and her people claim that she is up 6 over Buck, from some phantom poll, that they refuse to release any info on, and the WaPo headlines, Norton surging in the polls? Sounds just like a John McNorton tactic to me.

  • chihank

According to Ramusseen & Survey USA, Tancredo gets 25% of the vote. Thanks to Tancredo, the CO Gov is solid Dem Hold.

Tancredo’s 3rd party might make things complicated for Ken Buck in the general election.

  • chihank

Instead of having McCain campaign for her, Norton should have gotten Jan Brewer.

Bringing in Brewer would have made Tancredo mad since he wants to be the true voice of border security.

  • oldphart

“McCain?s heft with Mesa County voters is significant, Norton campaign spokeswoman Cinamon Watson said, noting that he was the highest Republican vote getter in Mesa County in the past three presidential cycles.”

Those votes might have been for Sarah.

  • Bill S
  • deano64

    Senator?

  • taxpayer1234

I had thought he was all about conservatism, but he’s just proven he’s all about Tancredo.

  • rdelbov

That Governor Brewer has endorsed Jane Norton so the high and low out of Arizona has came out for Jane.

I suspect Gov Brewer might impact some folks–ditto for Doc Coburn who supports Norton

  • deano64

I guess in 2004 they all voted for McCain by write in ballot.

  • deano64

    What are you talking about?

  • callawyn

He pretty much lost my respect. Not that he was advocating impeachment, but that he would do so in a way that grabbed the national spotlight and was then completely unable to clearly state why he believed Obama could/should be impeached. Its not like he was in a hostile environment, just him and a talking head interviewing him, and he was given plenty of opportunity to explain his position. It was a really pathetic performance.

  • callawyn

    at least in the US…

Of course, even if McCain was a Conservative he’d probably endorse her because of the work she did for him in his presidential campaign – its really hard work to lose a state like Colorado.

I kept posting and telling everyone that McCain was trying to stack the Senate with more people like himself, people he could cobble together to stymie conservative efforts. His coming to campaign for Norton proves me out.

    Yes, sweet vindication!

What is even better is how much McCain is despised by real conservatives (count me in that batch) and independents alike. Having ‘Amnesty John’ on the stage with you trying to act tough on illegal immigration is priceless.

For everyone else, there is Ken Buck, and I just donated another $25 to his effort to help take back the U.S. Senate for the people. GO KEN, GO! :)

  • takemccain2

Colorado has been a pretty solid Republican/Conservative state for decades upon decades. Only twice in my lifetime – 1992 and 2008 – has Colorado voted for the Democratic presidential candidate.

Democrats have made gains in recent years mainly due to laziness on the part of the state GOP and the lack of picking good candidates by the state and national party.

Granted, I don’t live there but had family who lived in neighboring Wyoming for many years and he used to talk about how conservative people were in those Western states.

  • takemccain2

That means he would have also been on the ballot in 2000.

  • takemccain2

Those people are just nuts. I’ve met a few of them and trust me, you don’t want to be lumped-in with those conspiracy whacks. They are some of the same people who think 9-11 was an inside job and most of them aren’t conservative but rather a mixture of far-flung libertarians and pure anarchists.

  • http://www.nighttwister.com NightTwister

But you don’t live here. You heard from someone that people in Western states are conservative.

    I got nuthin’

  • takemccain2

that you’ve ‘got nuthin’ because you didn’t address my fact about Colorado’s voting history. Their voting history is pretty much Republican/Conservative.

At the end of the day, it is all about getting Democrats out of power and returning it to the people. On this much you and I can agree.

  • http://www.nighttwister.com NightTwister

He actually talked about a “path to citizenship” in a USA Today interview.

I’m sure this will be spinned by some, but Norton was accused here at RS for supporting amnesty for much less.

  • Richard Mullins

of Norton. That doesn’t look like much and in some way I wouldn’t mind have some of those whose only crime is crossing the border a chance to be a US citizen but only at a Consulate in Mexico. Oh well if the state still has a Democrat in that senate seat, it will be on your hands. I didn’t see anything odd in that interview other than it’s with USA Today(Gannett).

  • http://www.nighttwister.com NightTwister

Actually, I agree with what Buck said. I just wanted to see if people would be consistent.

  • http://www.nighttwister.com NightTwister

I would be putting the democrat back in the Senate seat.

A debate was scheduled for this week in Pueblo but was cancelled–the folks are tired of the negative campaign ads and lost interest. Latest negative TV ad has Jane saying Buck has ‘shady interests’ running ads against her and something to the tune of Ken Buck ‘not being man enough to do it himself’. That one is paid for by Jane but others running that are making false accusations about Buck’s illegal immigration policy are funded by Grow Our Party, all operative carry-over’s from McCain’s failed presidential bid and adept at asking the right people to get very big donations–to help elect Jane Norton. Too bad that last debate didn’t go off as planned so folks could have heard Jane’s definition of ‘shady interest’ vs. her definition of Grow Our Party. She has also sent out a flyer claiming Ken Buck “has a disdain for women”, obviously missing the fact that his campaign leadership team is almost all women. That flyer has ticked off alot of people. Been standing on street corners for a week doing Honk and Wave’s and we have seen probably a slightly greater number of women honking and giving us thumbs up than men. Guess all those Women for Buck didn’t get the flyer from Jane in time to learn he really doesn’t like them much! She’s hitting hard on TV and radio ads, trying to turn up the heat and pick up the last handful of voters. She has about 7% of Republicans polling that they are undecided. Most of them probably aren’t going to vote on Tues. Many say they will sit it out and wait till November because they can’t stand one more slam and slur.

Buck needs money as his critics enjoy pointing out here frequently. Interested in sending a conservative that will spend his time listening to guys like Sen. Jim DeMint instead of liberal Republicans to the Senate? Want to send someone to the Senate that has no intention of becoming a career politician, but rather, wants to go to work, clean up as many messes as he can and resume his life in Colorado? We need to win back the Senate majority in November, too. Ken Buck needs your financial support to air some radio and TV ads of his own to clear the playing field and put the truth before the voters. Let’s get him over the finish line on August 10 and go from there. Thanks for your support and interest in taking back America by supporting Ken Buck who wants to fight for your family and mine, as well as his own.

  • takemccain2

I think Buck has run a good campaign and a lot of people out West seem really fired up about him. I hope he can keep the momentum going into these final 5 days and win big next Tuesday. We need real conservatives, not another establishment Republican who will ‘go along to get along’ with the good-ole boys on the GOP side and the liberals on the Democrat side.
The whole reason I got involved in the Florida, Indiana, Utah and Colorado campaigns was so I could join in the fight to keep the NRSC from hand picking more candidates like themselves. The GOP Elite in Washington is only interested in keeping their power and perks, not in the conservative agenda. I will keep on fighting for fresh faces and committed conservatives before I ever vote for a ‘recommended’ Republican ever again.
Ken Buck will fight for real conservatives, not sell out to the D.C. club.

  • takemccain2

Jane Norton is the one who wants illegals to serve 30 days community service (I guess pick up trash along highways) and then consider that justice enough to reward them with citizenship for breaking our laws and abusing our system.

Ken Buck has said he wants to create a guest worker program to make it easier for people to work in the country legally but that anyone here illegally has to go back first to their country of origin and apply for citizenship like everyone else before being considered.

That isn’t the same plan by a long shot. Ken’s plan calls for illegals to leave, not stay and play garbageman or street sweeper like Jane’s plan. Again, need I remind you who is supporting Norton? None other than ‘Amnesty John’ McCain himself. I don’t have to elaborate as that makes my entire point.

  • http://www.nighttwister.com NightTwister

You obviously didn,t read the article. Also, Nortion isn’t a McCain clone. She has distanced herself from many of McCains positions which you peobably know, but won’t admit.

Not that any of this matters. I just wanted to see if people would be consistent, and ame not at all surprised that some aren’t.

  • http://www.nighttwister.com NightTwister

Because it’s a non-starter. Basing the political temperature of a state on its Presidential votes is idiotic.
