Bob Bennett: Sore Loser

We’ve commented here a number of times recently that Bob Bennett has gone out of this way to trash the tea party movement since they defeated him for re-election. I guess that is understandable.

Well, today we’re getting word that Bob Bennet’s son is now working for the Democrats in Utah.

How fitting.

Jim Bennett, the son of Sen. Bob Bennett who ran his father’s campaign for a fourth term this year, has begun working as a volunteer on the Senate campaign of Democrat Sam Granato, who hopes to replace the senior Bennett in Washington, D.C. . . .

The defeat of Bennett at the convention has triggered concerns among a number of traditional Republicans who have begun discussing ways to change Utah’s candidate-selection process.

Jim Bennett says his defection to a Democratic candidate for the Senate should not be construed as sour grapes. He says it is an honest assessment in his mind of who the best candidate is among the remaining contenders.

Riiiigggghhhhhhttttttt. No sour grapes at all. Of course, if Jim wants to lobby, of course he’ll work for the Democrat because he knows Mike Lee is not going to be busting budgets for pork like dear old dad.

His ranking of the candidates overall:
    1) His dad
    2) Any Democrat
    3) Any Republican other than his dad

If there are some Greens or anyone else, they’d no doubt slide in as 3) and bump Lee down.

All it does is confirm that his dad’s ouster is a good thing.

Can’t be helped, I guess. After all, Erick, you were the first to out Bennett months ago, and now everything you said about him, and wanted to say about him but demurred, has proved true.

We can win anyway, but we need to make sure everything bearing Bob Bennett’s name, from street signs, to Post Offices, to seniors’ centers, to elementary schools, be taken down and changed. Make sure that his east coast residence become his sole residence.

    Shun him.

As if we needed any more justification.

But it really is nice having Bob’s own son wear the “Kick Me” sign.

I don’t know much about Bennet. But Erik your lead in mentioned Maryland State Senator andy harris the fact that Wayne Gilgrest threw his support to democrat Kratovil in the last election.
As a registered Republican in Maryland I can tell you that in the last election “honest” andy harris, lower case intentional, used every low down dirty political trick to eliminate his republican rivals. Most of them much better qualified than honest andy. Then andy lost the election anyway. In maryland politics this makes honest andy the republican front runner in this election? andy harris is not worthy to lick crap off the boots of Maryland voters let alone represent them in congress.
This is so typical of elections everywhere in this great country. Republican election committees hand pick garbage like andy harris, support them, put money behind them, get them elected. Then when the voters find out what garbage they are, they go else where to find representation. Wake up American voters. First ignor the trash your local republican election committees back. Do your home work, find the best conservative candidate running and vote for him/her. Flush hand picked garbage like andy harris down the toilet.
Erik, I normally like your work, but when you fail to do your homework and line up behind garbage like andy harris you need to be called on the mat.

their children will do anything to either stay in power or at the very least stay in favor with other members of the Ruling Class. I’ll bet some Dem or Dems offered the Bennetts favors for this move. I mean what’s little party switching when so much money and power are at stake? Like Arlen Specter answered when asked why he switched parties “So I can get reeee eleeecteeddd.”

Precisely why we need to clean out the REP. that are Rhino’s. I gave Bohener a piece of advice when he support the rep from NY who was a Rhino. She got beat in the primary & turned right around and support the dem who would have been here opponet in the general. Bohner being the minority leader should have known better, but I’m sure he learned from that mistake and will be very selective next time. Again that is the problem w/ the rhino reps. they have played a game so long they forgot who they are suppose to represent.

I remember a classic line from The Quiet Man where the local priest is urging Danaher to shake John Wayne’s hand and he says “I’d join the Church of Ireland first.” The priest replies, “As if they’d have you!”

Why do the Democrats want to pick up this proven loser to work on their campaign. He’s proven his incompetence in driving his own incumbent father’s campaign into the ground. I know the Dems have a historical trend of promoting losers but that’s usually from within their party. To reach out now to a loser “Republican” seems quite a stretch, even for them.

Still I think the tea partiers in Utah should rejoice at this news. The anchor that dragged down their former target has now signed on with their current target. Party on.

maybe the Bennetts have finally decided to be honest about what they believe and reverted to kind in backing the Democrat. It’s not like it’s been hard to tell the difference anyway these last how many years.
