‘It’s Of No Interest to Me’

Ken Buck and Michael Bennet had a debate the other day. Ken Buck posed a simple question to Bennet: Did you vote for $1.5 million for an airport named after Jack Murtha that serves no more than 20 passengers a day?

Bennet’s answer? Yes, “but it certainly was not of interest to me.”

Buck replies, “I think $1.5 million is certainly of interest to all of us.”

You know you want to give Ken some money.

Yeah...a big skid mark on Bennett on election night.

it should definitely interest him when he sees the election returns. Kinda hoping Buck comes up with a commercial built around that.

Not diminishing the brilliance of Buck's retort,

but what an idiotic statement for Bennet to make. He should be disqualified from the Senate just on the basis of rank stupidity.

(I know…I know…if rank stupidity was a disqualifier from serving in the Senate, the world’s greatest deliberative body could meet in a phone booth)

Lots of Senators fall into this category eburke.

We conservatives, though, eventually hold our guys accountable. However, on the Dem side, incompetence is a major resume enhancer, so the dumber they are, the farther they advance their careers. Heck, one day, a couple of them might actually become President or Vice-President…oh wait, that’s already happened and now look at the mess we’re in.

Glad that things are going to change very soon and that they are just too arrogant to see the freight train that is coming right at them. It’s a beautiful thing.

That freight train would get there faster if the

so-called Republican leadership would back some of the winning candidates, or had backed some of the losing candidates, instead of pouting and taking their ball home in a snit. What spineless wimps. I truly believe most of them would rather have a Dem majority in both houses still than let true conservative through the door.
Notice to the so-called leadership: shape up, or you are next!

I think the reason for the attacks is when the “new blood” shows up they won’t toe-the-line and bow to the so-called leadership of the republican party. That means the “good old boys” have 2 choices either return to the true roots of conservatism or go it alone. I also think they realize their days of pork barrel projects and special interest money are about to take a big hit. When Buck, O’Donnell, Ayotte, Miller and others are elected they know it’s because of the average citizen demanding change. This keeps them from becoming insiders and forces the insiders to change or be left behind. One example would be how John McCain went from co-sponsoring an amnesty bill to now leading the charge to have the illegals deported. This can only be good for not only the party but for the country, too.

I’m glad to see McCain’s conversion, but I’m not gullible enough to instantly believe it is permanent. After a couple of years we’ll see if the conversion is permanent, or he has returned to his wayward course.

My bet would be a de-conversion

sometime around Nov. 3rd.

McCain simply cannot stand “not being liked” by the Others and the beltway media types.

Over-under bets on when a new “Gang” of moderates re-appears?

based on past history, ya gotta figure on it.

Yow know, it’s always amazed me that a guy who never gave an inch to the thugs at the Hanoi Hilton seems to fall into the Stockholm Syndrome when he deals with Dems.

Perhaps Mr. Bennett's comment

proudmarinemom (Diary) Thursday, September 16th at 8:33AM EDT (link)

was taken out of context.

Maybe he meant to say, “How I vote to spend OPM (Other People’s Money) is never of interest to me and it never will be of interest to me. I’m here to line my own pockets, or is that too hard for you to comprehend, Sir?”

The best part is what the person TAKING the video says...

These short sound bites can omit the context of the discussion – would have liked to have heard Bennet’s response, so as to complete the pwnage.

Damn it’s a good time to be a conservative!

For once, in this campaign (in his entire political career, maybe?) he’s speaking the truth. I commend him for that.

I hope that comment gets posted across the airwaves of Colorado over and over and over again.

What does Michael Bennett think of wasting your hard earned money? “It’s really of no concern to me”. That’s right, Bennett voted to fund an airport named after John Murtha that serves only 20 passengers per day. And it cost taxpayers $1.5 million. On election day, tell Bennett that wasting millions of taxpayer dollars on pet projects to boost congressional egos is the last thing America needs in this economy.

I’m Ken Buck, and I approve this message.
