Barack Obama Is ‘A Threat to Our Democracy’

“[U]nlike the Chamber of Commerce, the Obama campaign most likely accepted into its campaign coffers donations from foreign individuals and never returned the money.”

When you’ve hung around with so many people who idealize communism and socialism and loath the United States, you tend to develop an inner-Soviet voice. Barack Obama sure has.

He let it slip with Joe the Plumber and Obama’s talk of wealth redistribution. He let it slip when declaring that “I do think at a certain point you’ve made enough money”. He’s now let it slip again.

His campaign farce, Organizing for America, sent out an email noting that Barack Obama declared the United States Chamber of Commerce “a threat to our democracy.”

What. The. Hell.

Why would the President of the United States want to slander 3 million American companies, and their tens of millions of employees? Why would he assume them evil enough to subvert the law deliberately like this? Is the man who got his political start in the home of a terrorist, who spent twenty years worshipping in the church of a man who preached contempt for America, whose childhood mentor was a communist radical, and who shows no more understanding of basic economics than a cliff notes reading of Das Kapital . . . projecting?

He has now been echoed by his whole campaign team in an organized character assassination attempt with the Center for American Progress against the Chamber of Commerce.

Why?

The Chamber of Commerce accepts money from some foreign corporations that have American business interests. The Chamber has been quick to point out that it keeps those funds segregated and does not use them for political advocacy.

But there are two larger points worth noting. First and foremost, if this is the standard Barack Obama is using, then Barack Obama himself is a threat to our democracy. Why?

Barack Obama is the biggest recipient of British Petroleum dollars. British Petroleum is a foreign corporation.

If that is the standard the Chamber of Commerce is held to, Barack Obama should hold himself to that standard.

But there’s more.

Back in 2008, the Washington Post documented the ease by which foreigners and others could give the Barack Obama’s Presidential campaign. The campaign, in fact, boasted of it.

In addition to accepting pre-paid credit cards, the Obama campaign turned off the processing mechanism that verified only United States citizens were giving to his campaign.

As Patrick Ruffini documented in 2008 the Obama campaign turned off the Address Verification Service mechanism to the campaign website, allowing virtually anyone to give to the campaign.

In addition to this being another matter that Daryl Issa will have to investigate once the Republicans take back the House, the bigger issue is that several of us in the blogosphere back in 2008 knew people living overseas who gave to the Obama campaign just to see if it was possible. Yes, Europeans gave a few bucks just to see if they could. Of those I heard of who did this, I never heard of any of them getting a refund.

In other words, unlike the Chamber of Commerce, the Obama campaign most likely accepted into its campaign coffers donations from foreign individuals and never returned the money.

But there is a larger issue here too.

The President of the United States has taken to the bully pulpit to declare an institution as American as mom, apple pie, and flags on Main Street to be a threat to our democracy.

Were Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity or Mark Levin or Glenn Beck to say anything of the like, the left would dismiss them and say they were no longer worthy of being taken seriously. How then can we take Barack Obama seriously?

Very easily — Barack Obama is the President of the United States. For him to call an organization instrumental to American commerce and business a ‘threat to our democracy” should trouble all of us. He and his administration have shown no ability to get the economy going again. Every advice from the Chamber of Commerce, the National Federation of Independent Businesses, and other supporters of the entrepreneurial class have been rebuffed.

To now declare one of the few groups that has the bona fides to get the economy going again a “threat to our democracy” is as extremist as anything he and his goons would accuse conservative talk radio of saying.

It also shows this President is out of ideas and is falling back on the Soviet rhetoric his mentors of long ago all embraced.

I mentioned this two years ago here on Red State: http://www.redstate.com/kudzu630/2008/10/29/israels-day-of-reckoning/

Unfortunately, Yahoo! has since removed the photograph but you get the idea of the description:

“…computer to be a Palestinian ?refugee? working for the Obama campaign via the web-based call center. Where is this refugee? He?s in a Gaza refugee camp? known breeding grounds for Hamas and recruiting base for Palestinian terrorists. Am I making a bit of conjecture here? Yeah, but how much are you willing to be there isn?t some semi- or fully organized undertaking by these people to conduct these cold-calling operations?”

The president taken near this level for even the most casual observer… the same reason Beck repeats at least weekly that his familys first prayer everyday is for the safety of our President. Its just a final sad nail in the coffin of what I think most of us already can only take a positive of helping facilitating the grass roots “awakening”

Would it be wrong to call Obama “The Kingfish?” Because lately all he does is carp.

Growing up in Louisiana where my father and mother were registered Democrats because there was no viable Republican alternative, the Democrats fought amongst one another and played the most diabolical tricks and illegal activities. It was very common for candidates to go to the graveyards at night with flashlights and write down names of those entombed there and register them to vote and then to vote for them. It was not until we went to West Virginia where Democrat candidates were giving out money when a citizen would take their bus to vote and some additional money given to them when they exited the polls. In Louisiana we thought we had “the best politics money could buy” and usually they were bought. Former Governor Edwin Edwards spent time in the federal facility in Huntsville, TX. Other elected officials were indicted and convicted. Many were not even prosecuted (such as the levee commission of New Orleans taking many hundreds of millions of dollars given to improve the levee system and using it to fill in swampy areas to get an amusement park and a casino to locate there). It seems so many excuse the immoral, unethical, unConstitutional, anti-American behavior from Democrats and have done so for many years. May we throw the bums out?!!! Conservatives rise up and vote. We may not be able to change everything this November but it can be a great start!

are waiting for will be.Try this hypothesis on for size: The GOP wins by landslides all over the place, only to have them called “close votes” and to be “recounted” into democratic victories. I can tell you right now that Rucio is whipping Crist and meeks here in FL, Just like Scott is whipping Sink for Governor here. If they declared a Dem winner here we would know it is a lie and the elections are as fraudulent as 2008.
Why do I see this as a huge possibility? Because the Liberals are already setting it up.They are running many fake polls saying a lot of races are closer than they really are. Why? Because they will try to use those fake polls to justify a recount and Dem win, thats why.

When True Americans see the candidate they voted for defeated by blatant voter fraud and lies, and the proof hits the table, we will be at a tipping point in American History. The liberals tried to hide most of their vote fraud and election tampering in past years. Now they arent even trying to hide it.
Type in Houston Votes Fraud into your browser. This group is modeled right after the same group that gave you Barack Hussein Obama. Question is, will the people just stand by and watch as their states and Fed Governents are stolen from them by the Socialist-Communists calling themselves progressives?

That was in late October of 2008.

Since slightly past high noon on 20 January 2009, the administration officially commenced doing exactly what then-candidate Obama said they were going to do in the run-up to the appointed hour.

Some of us saw it coming long before the few days prior to November 2008 and used documented examples of the persons surrounding the man – the vast majority of whom some of us knew would be tapped into appointed high-level positions within the administration – to form our fact-based views.

Some of us have lost life-long friends because of our fact-based opinions.

Some of us have had family members not speak to us in a few years because of our fact-based opinions.

Some of us have been ridiculed and chastised to the point of libel and slander because of our fact-based opinions.

Some of us have even been physically threatened because of our fact-based opinions.

One of the ‘some of us’ – me to be precise – has been saying for a long time that, although The President is highly suspect, at best, as to motive and documented-dangerous to freedom Rights and liberties, he’s nothing more than the front-man – the visible face.

Since I’ve spent quite a long time in the music business as a secondary source of income (even though it’s my first love-of-career since I was a teenager), here’s the analogy I’ve been using to make my case:

Much more than any other in the office preceding him, President Obama is like the lead singer in a glam-rock cover band with an unlimited budget and an ego to match……He doesn’t write the music, doesn’t play a note either, but is deeply involved in the process of getting it all out there, however only with words and also signing tons of autographs, making the fans happy.

The band – who doesn’t write the music either – and crew are the real force, because without them, the lead singer is nothing but a man with a microphone in his hands. But because of the lead singer’s highly crafted – some would say ‘gifted’ – stage presence, very few people notice the band, although one or two of their names are known and almost nobody ever sees the crew – in the business called ‘backline staff’ – let alone knows who they are, nor acknowledges them for what they actually do in getting the show on stage – always being there gig after gig, tour after tour.

And the manager….. There’s the real backline power. The band’s manager must be a very strong-willed and powerful-in-the-business individual indeed to put things together in order for a big crowd, night after night, to want to pay to see a group of people play music created by others……. Part marketing genius, part contract attorney (no brown m&m’s !), part logistics director and a definite expert in delegating tasks and authority.

Managers also have a bit of an ego themselves, but usually reserve displaying that ego, except on business cards and letterheads – the band even helps form the title as a tribute to success – by giving the manager a header of great import.

The manager’s title many times is something simple like ‘Artist Management’…… Many times, I’ve seen something with a humorous slant like this one (an actual artist’s manager’s title): ‘The Real Boss’.

But what usually occurs in a well-known band and setup with an ego to match……. The manager’s title can be a long, drawn-out description of the job done…… Kind of like…… I don’t know…….. Let’s say………. Administrator Of the Office Of (Band) Information And (Tour) Regulatory Policy.

I’m hoping you now understand from where I speak and derive my fact-based opinions.

Just to reinforce my take, here’s another one of the ‘some of us’ from over one year ago – September 22nd 2009. It’s a rather well-done summary of the matter to that date wih the very apt header of “In His Own Words”.

So then……. Erick, welcome to Threat Club.

The first rule about Threat Club is we always talk about Threat Club, but offer volumes of backup to make our cases.

Membership is still open to the public.

    Cheers !

The federal government has long since reached ‘critical mass’, that tipping point beyond which elections will have virtually no long-term effect on its power. No credible politician is currently advocating the ONLY course of action to restore sanity – ‘Deconstruction’ to the original Constitutional framework. This would require eliminating all federal departments except those specifically cited in the ‘enumerated powers,’ and removing the ability of the government to borrow money. As a nation, we are nearly evenly split between those who believe the Constitution should be enforced, and those who deem it an anachronism, simply to be parsed when expedient. This is now an unbridgeable schism, and our failure to embrace this reality will simply prolong our national agony. We are past being united, we need to separate while we can still remain civil.

if the Democrats accuse the GOP of something, rest assured it is because they are already doing it. And they know they will continue to get away with it because the media will cover for them.

Whether it is astroturfing politics, abusing the system with lobbyists, harming women, children and minorities with their policies, engaging in bigotry, racism and sexism, or taking campaign money from foreign sources, they are sure the right is guilty because they themselves have already been doing all these things for so long.

Their projection leads them to the assumption that the right must be guilty also, and so they make their unfounded accusations. Most of which are easy to disprove.

What thinking person would believe that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, an organization which exists to support American small businesses, would be receiving foreign support to be used to campaign against our President? The accusation is stupid on its face.

It’s too bad that you won’t read this in the lame stream media. The American people need to WAKE UP and realize this guy is out to destroy America! We only have 3 weeks until the midterm elections. Our side is polling well – if the marxists, communists, and other friends of the left don’t steal the elections. Which is a big IF.

  • mbee51

He is panicking….grasping at straws. November 2nd is too close for any “miracles”, so he’s doing what liberals always do when their bag of tricks is empty …..attack, smear, destroy…whatever they think they can get “their” voters to believe. I think Obama is beginning to understand that “his” voters aren’t ALL going to follow him off the cliff, because all that change he promised still hasn’t materialized and their lives are worse than before he “took” office.

then you would say yes, it is absolutely appropriate to call Obama a kingfish.

In any Minority community. (Louisiana was in a way a minority culture ) The Kingfish is the guy who is slightly better educated than the others, he is smart and sly and makes them lots of promises so that they follow him.

Then he always ends up with all of their money, women, and liquor, and they are no better off than before.

to any American Capitalist that the democrats & their leader are the enemies of the state…….

  • Marcus_Traianus

When in the history of our republic has a President ever engaged in such anti-democratic behavior? I can’t ever recall a moment where the tactics of creating an enemies list, class warfare, implied race warfare and unsubstantiated, factless allegations have been used in such reckless and irresponsible fashion.

We are well beyond the personal irresponsibility of Mr. Obama and are now traveling down the road of demeaning and destroying the Presidential Office.

It is now clear that “change” means transforming our republic into something most of her citizens would not recognize. It is egregious taxation, historical unemployment, overbearing, intrusive government, a loss of liberty, neighbor against neighbor, crushing American exceptionalism and expunging the society that made this country great.

In November, we serve notice that we are here to take our government back, stop the reign of destruction and impeach this anti-democratic waif.

  • http://impudent.edublogs.org/ kyle8

Going back at least to Woodrow Wilson. In fact it would be hard to find a Democrat administration that did not have an enemies list, and engage in race baiting.

The only difference is that these guys don’t even try to hide it anymore.

In fact, the controversy over the Chamber of Commerce financing may say more about the Washington spin cycle ? where an Internet blog posting can be quickly picked up by like-minded groups and become political fodder for the president himself ? than it does about the vagaries of campaign finance.

Organizations from both ends of the political spectrum, from liberal ones like the A.F.L.-C.I.O. and the Sierra Club to conservative groups like the National Rifle Association, have international affiliations and get money from foreign entities while at the same time pushing political causes in the United States.

In addition, more than 160 political action committees active in campaigning have been set up by corporations that are based overseas, including military contractors like B.A.E. Systems and pharmaceutical giants like GlaxoSmithKline, according to data from the Center for Responsive Politics, a nonpartisan research service.

Such groups, which collectively have spent hundreds of millions dollars on political causes to advance their agenda, are required by law to ensure that any foreign money they receive is isolated and not used to finance political activities, which would violate a longstanding federal ban. The Chamber of Commerce says it has a vigorous process for ensuring that does not happen, and no evidence has emerged to suggest that is untrue.

I think this is more about Obama’s beef with SCOTUS regarding the result of the court?s landmark campaign finance ruling.

Just wait until SCOTUS gets ahold of ObamaCare……

It was a fair election even if the military ballots were tossed and muslim thugs served as poll enforcers. He is doing the best he can, especially demonstrating the dangers of affirmative action. I was busy doing other things, as I’m sure most of America was — so although I’d “heard” about fraud and intuitively suspected it b/c he turned down public funding as the D-nominee, these details are new to me and very, very important to know.

I think talking more about this will help eclipse the bogus meme coming out of his camp.

NEVER in my life, nor in the history I’ve read about other presidents, NEVER have I heard a President blantantly CONDEMNING opposing factions as “threats to democracy” — especially when they’re not directly affiliated with any party and are directly representative of WE THE PEOPLE.

This just tells me he’s not just against Republicans — he’s against ANYONE who’s against him, including the citizenry.

Obama’s lack of class is characteristic of radical leftist politicians.

Marxists regard parliamentary democracy essentially as a sham that covers otherwise uncompromising capitalist drive for power. Because he considers all his opponents immoral, he believes he justified to use any means toward achieving his socialist end. The reason why 20-th century history is littered by left wing monsters, because these radicals never played by the rules, because they considered the game itself illegitimate.

That is why Obama attacks Rove, Fox news and just about anybody opposed to his administration’s policies and demonizes them in public. He doesn’t accept that anyone except himself may have genuine motives and beliefs. The paradox is that Obama is projecting his own political tactics to those of his opponents. because he believes that all dissidents are immoral, he finds it perfectly acceptable to employ immoral tactics against them. This is what makes him a caricature of Nixon who at least implicitly recognized his own wrongdoing – when he said “I’m not a crook.”

Obama is a crook. He just doesn’t know it yet.

“The report from DHS’ Office of Intelligence and Analysis defined right-wing extremism in the U.S. as “divided into those groups, movements and adherents that are primarily hate-oriented (based on hatred of particular religious, racial or ethnic groups) and those that are mainly anti-government, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely. It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration.”

Rejecting federal authority for local or state authority? Groups of individuals dedicated to a single issue such as opposition to abortion or immigration? So now any pro-life group is categorized as “extremist” and this permits the government to “intervene” on behalf of their children? Or pro-legal immigration groups facing the same scenario?
