Who is Norma Jean?

Some youthful videographers approached Congressman Lincoln Davis.

It was all well and good until they mentioned some woman’s name — Norma Jean.

Then the Congressman fled and his Chief of Staff shoved the cameraman.

That all begs the question — who is Norman Jean? It isn’t Mrs. Davis. That much we know.

and Earl Perlmutter slapped Ryan Frazier’s hand during a debate last night

That’s kinda slim – the congressman was already leaving when the kid started asking about “Wanda(?) and Norma Jean.” Yeah, the security guy seemed to have pushed the camera a bit, but Davis taking off doesn’t seem to have anything to do with the questions.

If the kids (or you) know something, just say it. Otherwise it’s just slinging mud against a wall and hoping something sticks. We should be better than that.

No body has any right to slap someone period.

  • charlesmartel

But Erick seems to be making this as much about this “Norma Jean” person as it is about the security guy pushing the camera. Unless he knows something he’s not saying, it should just be about Davis’ security detail assaulting a kid with a camera.

    Marilyn Monroe.

    sorry, couldn’t resist.

  • deano64

good since you could then call him “Earl the Perl” although he ain’t much of a pearl. Nice to see Ryan Frazier is making Perlmutter lose his mind.

LINCOLN, this is Wanda. I need you to call me ASAP. I know your crew, (hey boys) have nothing else to do on a Friday afternoon, because I see them all on this blob or whatever you call it. But this has gone far enough. You said you wouldn?t attack the Dr. and his nice family, and look at all of you. Do you remember the first time you met Dr. DesJarlais? I?ll bet you that blue diamond necklace you?re always danglin? in front of me you don?t remember. Well, I do. Call me. You have the number.

Wanda, this is Norma Jean. If Lincoln calls you, please tell him to get back with me. I am sorry about all that happened. Please forgive me.

And apparently these videographers are picking this up and running with it.

I did some digging. There appears to be a Norma Jean Brown from Centerville, TN, close to the same age as Lincoln Davis.
Sept 20, 2008 Norma Jeans brother passed away.
October 7, 2008 Lincoln Davis was in the area at the Grundy County Rotary Club
    May be a coincidence.

There is also a 44 year old woman in Manchester, TN (central TN as well)

A name Kenneth Roberts keeps popping up in my searches. There is one Ken Roberts shown in TN (no city), that also relates to improper hotel room videos. So I am curious if there is some sort of connection where Ken Roberts took a hotel room video of Davis having an affair with Norma Jean??? Or maybe the videographer in this case was the same Ken Roberts?

Another Ken Roberts in Centerville, TN in Davis’ district is shown to receive a sizable farm subsidy, so I am curious if that has any correlation either.

The 2 names that always seemed to relate to THIS Lincoln Davis is Brown and Roberts, and in many of the genealogical and other related searches, there was a lot of marriages, kids and connections between the 3 names in central TN.

This is all speculation but certain names kept appearing during my searches

…to be all Debbie Downer on this, but I it really looks like it was probably just the same two videographers who were questioning him – they probably just went on the message board, posted the two messages (3 minutes apart) and then tried to make an issue out of it.

I understand the assualt part of it is serious, but to try to make a big deal out of the “women” is ridiculous, and cheapens it when we try to make an issue out of something legit.

This is much ado about nothing unless we had any idea what this was about. If the same kind of thing happened & the cameraman asked “Do you know about Napoleon Bonaparte?” and the congressman continued walking away it would be just as damning. If there is no accusation of anything, then what’s the big deal?

If you want to defend Democrats, and call liars those who question Democrats, go elsewhere.

He’s just trying to point out that this likely isn’t anything sinister. I don’t see the harm in that: it’s a different point of view on the situation, not a blind defense of a Democrat congressman.

For your reading pleasure (in case you can’t scroll up one post), and to jog your memory:

“it really looks like it was probably just the same two videographers who were questioning him – they probably just went on the message board, posted the two messages (3 minutes apart) and then tried to make an issue out of it.”

Come to think of it, he’s calling them *worse* than liars….

  • Jack_Savage

If there is nothing to it, just tell the guy he is wasting his time and then walk away?

Or is there something you aren’t sharing, charles?

  • Adjoran

If there is ANYTHING behind this – even a rumor – WHY not just come out and say it?

Instead we are presented with 100% innuendo. The ONLY thing even slightly untoward is that the aide (I assume) pushed the video camera away. It appeared to be right in the aide’s (?) face at the time, but if it was an assault, why not file charges?

  • http://www.hakubi.us/ Neil Stevens

    Are you with us?

  • minister_of_war

… I don’t know anything about that Congressman, but I’m not a big fan of “gotcha journalism” normally & in this case, there’s nothing there other than these 2 dudes claiming that this Congressman doesn’t have family values.

I don’t know him or them so I don’t know what they consider to be family values either.

It would be better if there was some kind of an accusation of some sort but this whole thing reminds me of the “National Enquirer”.

  • minister_of_war

If there is an accusation to be made against this Congressman, why doesn’t somebody just make it?

  • hippiessmell

I took Neil’s comment earlier to mean calling people on this forum liars. But since we’re being insulting now, here’s something to look into while trying to piece together this mystery: http://zapatopi.net/afdb/

  • http://www.hakubi.us/ Neil Stevens

How are the Republicans in your state and district doing?

  • minister_of_war

This Congressman claims to be pro-Union because his first name is Lincoln.

But people fail to recognize that his last name is actually “Davis”, as in Jefferson Davis. It was right in front of us this whole time. He’s really a Confederate & he supports slavery!

  • minister_of_war

… so is attacking a person just because after politely speaking to a few younger people, he walks away when he’s done & then they start screaming at him about family values? Bizarre. But I see no crime here. It’s like they say on criminal drama shows: “If you’re not going to charge him with anything, then you’re going to have to release him.

Davis could be the biggest scum in the world, but this video doesn’t prove anything about anything. It’s conjecture at best.

  • minister_of_war

… What are you accusing Davis of doing?

    ——————–

And by the way, not that you’re the person who gets to decide if we’re working hard enough for Republican candidates or not, but I am going to the CD-8 Congressional debate tonight in Tucson @ the UA to cheer on Jesse Kelly as he makes Gabby Giffords look like the fool that she is.

And I can actually back up the accusation of calling that I made against Giffords, by calling her a fool, if you need me to do so.

  • hippiessmell

And giving it undue credibility until any wrong doing is confirmed damages our cause more than it helps it (see Birther movement). I don’t think of it as defending a Democrat, I think of it as defending our credibility.

I suggest you contact the management regarding your bona fides.

    contact@redstate.com

If we’re going to play cloak and dagger here, then nobody new can be trusted – just a necessary precaution, you understand, since you have no track record here at RedState.

I don’t need to hear it – I’m just a reader; RS management does.

If legit, this was a good search effort on your part.

  • Jack_Savage

And I see your point. Whenever anyone asks me a question relating to something that isn’t true, I hit them and walk away. It really removes any doubt as to what kind of people I surround myself with and whether the charges have merit.

  • hippiessmell

That way I don’t get my hands dirty.

There’s something we can agree on though, shoving the guy like that is totally classless and thuggish. Bob Etheridge did the same thing in NC as did Martha Coakley’s handlers in Mass. The outrage then was properly focused on the assault itself. This could be a very effective video in continuing the narrative of Democrats manhandling people with video cameras, but that’s not where we’re focusing apparently.

And you have it backwards unless we watched a different video: The congressman realized he was being video taped and walked off, which was when those two guys started yelling at him and chasing after him.
