Impotence & Salad

Welcome back. I hope you had a good Thanksgiving. There are a few stories that came out over the holiday weekend and I think they are best tied together by one word — impotence.

Barack Obama increasingly appears to be an impotent President and no amount of viagra funded through Obamacare seems capable of helping the man.

First there was North Korea. They have, in essence, engaged in several acts of war against South Korea and have received no substantive response. The United States will engage in military exercises with South Korea, but that’s it.

In reality, though, let’s not kid ourselves. North Korea has no plans to go to war. North Korea just wants something. It wants concessions of some kind. Further, until the U.S. Government recognizes that North Korea exists solely because of Chinese subsidy (pretty much like us these days), we can do little to curb North Korea unless we take a more aggressive posture against China — something few Republicans and even fewer Democrats want to do.

China, however, is the enemy.

In the meantime, Obama does nothing.

Then there is the matter of Wikileaks. Why its founder, Julian Assange, continues to walk free, is mind boggling given the extent of the leaking he is doing. The founder of the online encyclopedia Wikipedia, Larry Sanger, directly says Wikileaks and, consequently, Mr. Assange, is an enemy of the United States.

In Yemen we send unmanned aerial vehicles to deal with American enemies. The best we’ve done so far with Mr. Assange is send him a letter and plead with his sensibilities — to no avail no less.

Mr. Obama has been unable to deal with Iran. He has been unable to deal with North Korea. And now he is unable to deal with Wikileaks. To be fair, his predecessors had a hard time dealing with the first two as well, but if we’re really being fair we should also admit that neither Bill Clinton nor George Bush would have so ineptly handled the matter of wikileaks.

Our foreign policy has become ivory tower and academic. The wikileaks documents, if nothing else, shows us that none of our allies take this administration seriously.

In order to meet his timeline to shut down Guantanamo Bay, the Obama Administration withheld meetings with Obama until countries volunteered to take some of the detainees — no word on the repercussions for letting them go once the head of state had a meeting with Obama.

Then there is Richard Wolffe’s new book about Barack Obama. Mr. Wolffe of MSNBC fame no doubt thinks he is helping the administration, but Kyle Smith seizes on one revealing anecdote.

One staffer was conspicuously overweight. The president, in an incident that Wolffe believes proves how caring the man is, took it upon himself to present the aide with a salad for lunch — “then listened to him protest that he could take care of his own health. ‘I love you, man,’ Obama said. ‘I want you to look after yourself. Eat the salad.’ ”

This is followed by Barack Obama quoting Abraham Lincoln and attributing his knowledge of the quote to his frequent perusals of the White House library. But the quote is actually from Ronald Reagan, not Lincoln, and Obama found it not by perusing the White House Library, but by reading his own diary wherein he mistakenly attributed the quote.

Mr. Obama is impotent and James Carville is perhaps right that Mr. Obama lacks a pair.

Maybe had the media demanded to see his college transcripts instead of believing the myth that the man is a genius, we’d have seen before putting him in office that he really isn’t as smart as he or his acolytes think he is.

Remember that bell curve that we see everywhere? Someone has to fill in the data points down at the left end. And Obama appears to be the one, as they say. Unfortunately, the myopic media was more concerned about his race than his ability to do the job, which is the definition of racism… yes, the very racism that they have been accusing us of.

  • eddie74

Livefreenh, – You failed to put all those voting for this Incompetance on the Left side of the Bell Curve.. The present WH Incompetant will be GONE in Jan. 2013, BUT we will be stuck FOREVER with the Idiots who voted him into the US Presidency.. It takes Inteligent Thought to pick a good President.. The Election of this WH Incompetant proves & reveals more about the Ignorant Electorate than about the Man-child Obama.. Obama is Temporary, but the Electorate resides Permanantly at the Left of the Bell Curve..

  • smagar

Maybe had the media demanded to see his college transcripts instead of believing the myth that the man is a genius,

Starting sometime this summer (if not sooner), the MSM will publish some mea culpas, in which they admit they didn’t vet Obama as fully as they should have. They’ll promise to turn over a new leaf—at which time they’ll go after the GOP presidential candidates—especially the most promising ones—-with a vengeance that will make Sarah Palin’s treatment seem mild.

When we point out the double standard, the MSM will claim it’s “grown,” and learned from its past mistakes. They may even try to hide their smirks as they say it.

The question, Erick, is why Assange is still walking, period.

    with Assange?

If he were to die, from any cause, or just disappear, the entire world would think we did it even if we did not. This would seem to provide plenty of cover for someone like the Russians to move in a spray him with,,,,,,,,, oh I dont know, ,,,,,,,maybe some polonium-210? But I guess they are having too much fun watching this. Which also probably explains why Assange doesnt leak Russian secrets. He knows that would be the end of him pretty quick.

Suing him is a farflung possibility. You first have to get jurisdiction over him. And he is probably careful about which states he steps foot into. Rendition is probably not a realistic option (does Obama even us this as a tool anymore?). He is not really a terrorist is he? Is information a weapon of terror? While it probably is for some individuals, it doesnt seem like this release was designed to terrorize average citizens.

There does seem to have been a political purpose — but I would have trouble articulating it exactly. Clearly, Assange intended to embarrass the US Govt, but whom? Bush or Obama? Neither or both? The CIA (their docs werent released, it was State’s). Furthermore, based on what I have been able to read so far — I do not see that the case has been made that the US Govt has been lying to everyone over everything. To the contrary, I see alot of consistentcy between public and private communication. What these docs have shown is only undiplomatic wording or unvarnished directness. OK, you got us on that, but so what?

Still, the worst part of this is that it may get some people killed. People who have tried to help us in the past. Perhaps are still doing so. These people have been exposed to all sorts of dangers. Even so, is this a crime in the US? Probably not if Assange were a US citizen.

So what does that leave? The acquisition or possession of classified documents? That got the actual leaker, we presume anyway. But is the publication of this info actually a crime, or is it protected speech? And, again, even if it is, how would the US legally get jurisdiciton over this guy.?

And don’t give a damn about what “the world” thinks. They don’t like us anyway and pretty much never have. The only time we’re useful is when they’re under attack and require the services of the US military.

In a way, I like the leaks. It shows to everyone else that Obama is the stumbling fool, the right knew he was way back when he first started running for President. It also shows that Obama did not bring about peace on Earth, Goodwill to Man by simply being elected.

On the other hand, yes, it will get some people killed. It will damage our ability to conduct diplomatic relations for years because our diplomats will be assumed to be spies. If you think that little trick was all Obama’s idea, you believe that Clinton is more qualified to be President. She doesn’t have much more experience than he does.

Why did Assange leak this stuff? Not to hurt anyone. He likes the attention. Everyone is talking about him. Everyone knows who he is. Isn’t that great?

As for N. Korea, I am still waiting for something other than strong words. Guess he is too busy playing basketball, watching basketball and just generally living basketball to actually DO the job for which he was elected. I knew there was a reason I was morally opposed to basketball.

Absolutely. The array of nuclear centrifuges in North Korea that so surprised Americans had to have been supplied by China. Where else could they have come from? North Korea’s great universities? Uh huh. Everybody must know this, they just don’t want to say so.

Likewise with the missile defense shield. Who is that a defense against? Iran? C’mon. Korea? Doubt it. It is to protect against CHINESE missiles. We just don’t want to say so.

We don’t need to go to war with Chine, we simply need to stop buying stuff from them. We don’t need their junk, we can find other suppliers in Malaysia and Singapore. If we prohibited imports from China, Wal-Mart might have empty shelves for about a month until it found new suppliers.

Drudge had a link about all the “bit torrent” sites seized by DHS over the weekend.

Figures. DHS is busy worrying about copyright infringement, but not disclosure of state secrets.

This is like local police ignoring serial murder to go after petty thieves.

I admit it is a little refreshing to hear/read the bare truth about some of these issues. Like what the Arabs really think of the Iranians. Or that we seem pretty sure some ChiCom official was behind cyber attacks (this last one we should have published ourselves anyway IMO). Or even the humor, such as the Germans realizing we know more about them than they do.

However, what is neither refreshing nor humorous is the fact that the lives of friendly assets have been put at risk. This is not good for them, or for us in the future as these courageous types will become stop giving us info if we cannot protect their identities. To me, this is the part we simply cannot allow to continue.

  • godot

…..we have now waited too late to do this.

If we were going to dink him, we should have done way back when we first got wind of it.

If we do it now, all the secret memos authorizing it will be released. Which might subject Obama to the jurisdiction of some crazy Spanish judge for crimes against humanity. Hey! ……maybe this is a way out of everything. One can dream ;-)

  • NeoKong

Ain’t this what we pay the CIA FOR…?

  • gwalt

Since they can uncover and leak just about everything that has ever been said or written about most anyone involved with the U.S., can we hire them to do some digging around—oh, let’s see—-Occidental. Columbia and Harvard circa the early 80′s?
Then move on to Chicago in the 90′s? Maybe pay a visit to rezko and get him to Wikileak?
Seriously. Look at the millions and millions of bits of info that has been released and we can’t get a thesis out of Columbia?

  • dambama

… than we can about Obama’s grades?

We should get Julian Assange to leak information about Obama.

I’d like to see his college transcripts, and how his tuition was paid at these elite universities he attended, and just for the heck of it, throw in his birth certificate.

    That kind of stuff.

Why can’t Wikileaks get this stuff?

  • p3orion

The ever-decreasing number of Wjhite House apologists point out that Assange has already spread his trove of leaked data to a number of subordinates, a wise move that prevents it from being eliminated by a single cyber attack. But if he were to turn up dead, in a very public place (the middle of Picadilly Circus, in London, perhaps?) that would send a warning to those who see no danger in poking a sleeping giant.

There are some very bad people in the world, many of whom still breathe the same air as the rest of us due only to American restraint or (much more lately) liberal impotence. They should beware of thinking this is a permanent condition…

  • CSUFBomb

…because he is undeniably an enemy of the State. However, it is somewhat educational to see the Obama Administration’s response to what amounts to a TSA full body scan of their own private parts.

Violation of privacy is okay for thee, but not for me?

  • p3orion

The leaks will doubtless cost some people their lives (Assange not among them, knowing the current administration) but I haven’t heard anything so far that is very surprising. Most of it seems to be the sort of information that everybody knows, but nobody publicly talks about. Diplomatically, it’s more a breach of etiquette than a revelation.

US diplomats perform low-level spying at the U.N.: excellent, I’d be disappointed if they didn’t. Karzai is an unpredictable egotist: anyone reading the newspapers could see that. The Saudis would like to see the Iranian nuke program bombed: of course they would. Etc, etc…

Some foreign governments will pretend to be shocked at the secrets that were revealed, and use the incident to try to extract some minor concessions from the U.S., but in general I suspect most of the information consisted of things they already knew, and that we knew they knew, but that both sides pretended were truly secret.

After being a reader for awhile and not joining in with my thoughts I can no longer sit out. All of the past events have lead me to believe that we as Americans can no long Blog about what needs to be done and how it will be different after the election etc. but as I read the headlines nothing has changed in the political arena!! The elected officials still do what THEY want and leave us to complain on sites like these with little results! It’s time to take action of some sort. I am not an intelligent man but grew up in an era that taught me that after taking it on the chin for so long it was time to strike back in a manner that caused those who inflicted the knocks to take notice. Voting is not causing this and a more drastic effect needs to be put forth.
Maybe some of the readers here who know law and other avenues to use can explain but in my mind since these elected official go against the Constitution and basicly break the law of the land why can we as citizens no make a citizens arrest on these people and start taking actions that have an effect? If we would gather in force, much like the Glen Beck rally did, and demand an audience with Congress and the House I think that we would have more of an effect than what is currently going on. Just my thoughts.

  • eastbaylarry

it’s never ‘too late’ to end it, (and him!).

  • dambama

We need to keep replacing democrats and RINOs with Constitutional Conservatives who are committed to returning America to a Constitutional form of limited federal government.

The next election gives us an opportunity to throw our several more democrat and RINO Senators and a few more Congressmen and women.

We can retake the government, and we can dismantle it’s un-Constitutional agencies, programs and spending. It will take some time and a lot of resolve.

Seek out posts from ColdWarrior on Red State, he explains this way better than I can.

Look into joining the Precinct Project in your area. As ColdWarrior keeps saying, most of the Republican Precinct seats sit empty, and the ones who fill the seats are the ones who vote in the party leadership, and get a voice in who can run for what … so it’s a spot where grass-roots can make a huge difference.

George Soros may have his Attorney Generals, but if we have the troops on the ground, picking serious conservative candidates, his bought-and-paid-for crooks won’t stand a chance.

Either leaking confidential information is wrong or it’s not. And if it puts those who are fighting for our country in danger, it’s wrong.

My question is: is this person an American citizen? If yes, we should be arresting and trying him for treason. If no, we should be treating him as an enemy.

  • acat

There’s enough stuff “in the pipeline” (i.e. already on a boat or a train or a truck) to keep WalMart shelves happy until next July – and between now and then we can easily find other places to manufacture.

Perhaps we could follow China’s lead and start looking for sites in Africa…

The DHS is large enough it can handle multiple investigative operations.

The problem with the leaks in general is you would have to be exceptionally lucky to determine who the leaker is before you see what is leaked. The best way to find a document leaker is see the documents then see who has accessed what.

The whole affair is a mess with no easy solution.

  • http://www.defeatobama.com DefeatObama.com

I especially found it funny that some of the Arabs were pleading with us to bomb Iran’s nuclear facility.

  • over9grand

Let’s no kid ourselves, our allies are for the most part Third World hellholes and Arab dictators. If they don’t like our president, that only makes me like him more. Let’s not forget what tons of our “European allies” were saying about Bush and fat Americans for eight years.

  • gkendall

Woe. It appears that dialogue with United States’ enemies simply isn’t working! (Surprise, surprise.) While Obama and his — shall we say minions? — were jet-setting around the globe, North Korea was prepping its attack on South Korea. “Mr. WikiLeak” was gettiing ready for super spill. China — perhaps? — was aiming missiles at the West Coast. Gee, could it be that Mr. Obama doesn’t treasure dialogue at all? That he knew as well as he knows where his backside is — for kicking — that it wouldn’t work? And didn’t care? That his goal for the United States of America is accomplished with propaganda and other instruments from that toolbox? Perhaps he uses “dialogue” simply to buy time. His brand of jargon might be tailored after that the enemies of Israel have successfully used against that little nation for decades — with assistance from Bill Clinton and other “peace-prize candidates.”

What type of Presidency Obama would have when Michelle came out wearing that Black Widow Spider dress.

He will be known as the Inane and Trite president in the history books

First, learn the acrid smell of sarcasm.

Second, who needs to find the leakers to put a “this website has been seized by DHS pursuant to XX CFR…” banner and shut the damn thing down.

They didn’t look for the people fueling the 70 plus websites they put out of business over the weekend. They shut it down.

On the grand scale of things, protecting the profits of Obama’s Hollyweird buddies isn’t as important as protecting our agents and friends.
