If you are a Republican, you wear white sheets and attend midnight meetings. That is if you believe Robert Brown.
Brown is now, after the decimation of Democrats in Georgia, the highest ranking Democrat in the whole state. He serves as leader of the Democrats in the State Senate.
On a local television program in Middle Georgia, Senator Brown was asked about a series of party switchers from Democrats to Republicans. Brown responded, “I mean, what does the wife do then, put on some red sheets on the bed and say ‘You know we can get rid of the blue sheets, but keep the white one over there because we might need that one for the midnight meeting.’”
Robert Brown has a history of racially incendiary remarks, having in the past accused Republicans of “Willie Horton” politics and other supposed racist actions.
It could be that Robert Brown is unfamiliar with what typically goes on between sheets, in which case we might forgive him. But whether he’s race baiting or just that dumb, it’s hard to mount a convincing case that he should actually be the highest ranked state level Democrat in Georgia.

Keeping the black population stupid is the goal of democrats, while telling them that they are their friends. And now, with their success at that, they think they will get away with it with the rest of us…. Well, unlike so many Americans, sadly, many of us on the right have a true concept of real history, history rewritten by the left to support their moronic, guaranteed to fail agenda to a uneducated public.
It is way past time to take back control of the education system in this country from the progressive/liberal/communist regimes. Another issue that seriously needs to be taken with the new 112th congress…

Protecting the Base
michaelbowler Thursday, December 30th at 6:48AM EDT (link)The trend the democrats are facing is that a small number of blacks are breaking ranks and supporting conservative ideals. We all saw them at TEA Party rallies. Their numbers, as yet, are relatively few but obviously the democrats are frightened they will grow. There are members of the gay communities also breaking ranks, several percentage points more of them voted republican in this last election.
The democrats are desperate to keep their bloc voting bases, it is the secret to their success. The democrat party has traded in single issue politics, pandering to many groups on whatever their cause celeb was for that election cycle. When the various groups are split, voting on solid economics instead of perceived injustice issues, it only takes a modest portion of these groups to break the stranglehold the democrats have held on government. They know this and are responding with these over the top claims. Let them do it, it is eroding their credibility.
War against each other.
eldstenorge Thursday, December 30th at 7:00AM EDT (link)Democrats have descended into the class warfare socialists and communists have always attempted, to divide us, make sure we are not unified, and with the split, get what they want. We are all Americans and need to remember that. Conservatives, put your arm around a black or Hispanic or Asian, or whatever other minority is perceived and bring them into our cause. They are our brothers and sisters and we need them as much as they need us. Neither of us can succeed without accepting the other.
It can't be racism, so don't think it
ohiohistorian (Diary) Thursday, December 30th at 7:16AM EDT (link)Mr. Brown, from his photo on his legislature page, may be black. If so, according to the Holder justice department, there is no such thing as racism against whites. (see the New Black Panther case, where voter intimidation was thrown out http://www.wnd.com/?pageId=173117). So, Mr. Brown HAS to be correct.
There is also another possible slant on this. Is anything that Mr. Brown is saying any worse than Alan Grayson http://www.wikidbs.com/quotes/alan-grayson/ ? And HE was elected to Congress! Maybe it is a new approach to be elected to higher office?

WarEagle01 (Diary) Thursday, December 30th at 9:19AM EDT (link)The KKK is the terrorist wing of the Democrat party. And every single villain of the Civil Rights era was a Democrat, just like Robert Brown. I think this may be why Democrats are so quick to call Republicans racists. Racism runs deep in the Democrat soul. It’s made them who they are today. But they feel such intense guilt over these barely concealed racist feelings that they constantly feel the need to project them on others. Poor silly Kluckers.

swamphermit (Diary) Thursday, December 30th at 9:36AM EDT (link)..all alike. Filled with hatred for whites…a hatred that is even taught in black churches, e.g. Rev Wright and the racist TUCC. Brown supports Obama, and Obama was a member of the racist TUCC group for over 20 years, so that makes Brown a racist, IMO.
Not quite...
merryj1 Thursday, December 30th at 10:03AM EDT (link)Jeremiah Wright’s church is NOT a “Black” church or a true Christian church. Wright preaches “liberation theology,” an oxymoronic pseudo-blend of Christianity and Marxism. As such, any “racism” is strategic, rather than ideological (“divide and conquer,” whether by class envy, racial animus, anything that has an “us vs them” element).
Pope Benedict, (when still Cardinal Ratzinger) wrote a paper on Liberation Theology in 1984 that fully explains the insidious nature of this perversion of Christianity, and how & why it has gained traction. I suspect (but have only anecdotal evidence) that history is tied to the CPUSA efforts from the 1930′s – 1950′s to infiltrate Catholic seminaries and other Christian theological schools with devoted comrades, instructed to gain upward mobility within Church hierarchies to positions of influence (1950′s HUAC testimony of former CPUSA NY head, Bella Dodd).

Since Robert Brown Opened that Door...
merryj1 Thursday, December 30th at 9:39AM EDT (link)…the wise Georgia Republicans should walk through it: Most of us (on the Right) are fully aware of the history of those “midnight meetings in white sheets,” that it was the Tennessee head of the Democratic Party Nathan Bedford Forrest who founded the white-sheet brigade as an enforcement arm OF the Democratic Party with the declared purpose of “breaking up the Republican Party.”
Unfortunately, that bit of history has been “lost or misplaced” to probably a majority of rank-and-file Democratic voters since about the time of the first FDR election. Between then (1932) and the LBJ era (1963-1969), ‘common understanding’ of the facts was somehow reversed in very large areas of our national psyche.
Robert Brown’s bit of demagoguery provides an excellent opportunity for Georgia Republicans to (belatedly) set the record straight: The ground-work for that has been done with historian David Barton’s book, “American History in Black and White.”
If the astute Georgia Republican political class would begin “talking up” Barton’s book on local radio shows and newspaper op-eds, perhaps donating copies of the work to local school and public libraries (and issuing press releases about ‘setting the record straight’), the end result could well be a permanent majority of Republicans in the Georgia voting populace,

Many people do think that way about conservatives
earlgrey (Diary) Thursday, December 30th at 11:45AM EDT (link)Some people see this was as some kind of us vs. them (black vs. conservative white). On forums if you don’t say the right thing they call you “White” as though that is an insult. Some people really think this way. I remember someone on HuffPo referring to the Vanilla nature of the tea party protests. I wrote back White is beautiful too. Didn’t get a response, but I don’t care. I am going to make the point.
I think people should stop ignoring this stupidity and call them out for it. There are plenty of examples of reverse racisim (whidh actually is racism). I just don’t support ignoring this kind of nonsense anymore. It doesn’t seem to help and it sort of knocks people back if you just face them head on about it.

severed2009 Thursday, December 30th at 1:48PM EDT (link)Most recent Southern Republicans are former Southern Democrats (just as many current Southern Democrats, the black ones, used to be Republican, back when they had trouble voting). Since we admit that the old Southern Democrats were racists and white supremacists and connected to the Klan, the question is what portion of them took their racial attitudes with them when they switched parties, and what portion of them left their racial attitudes behind with their old allegiance and were glad to be rid of them.
Very few current Southern Democrats still subscribe to the former Southern Democrat notions on race. Some proportion of the new Southern Republicans still do, but the official line is that this racism was left behind. This official line has the same sort of accuracy as the older Southern official line that most blacks were happy with segregation, and is publicly proclaimed for much the same reasons.
The mechanics for propagating and strengthening Big Lies provide a fascinating view into human nature.

When Wilson took office in 1913, [he] removed all of the black persons from positions of power in [his] WH; and maintained one as [his] servant. Much like Bill Clinton was heard saying; “A few years ago, he [Obama] would be serving us coffee”. Up until 1913 black patriots were serving equally with whites in every matter, from military to Congress. I believe the first black “Speaker of the House,” was nominated and placed in 1877 [or thereabouts] and a black man, Fredrick Douglass, deciphered our American Constitution as completely anti-slavery; James Armestad, a black double-spy for Gen. Washington nearly won the American Revolution single-handedly against Benedict Arnold; so don’t be fooled by the divide and conquer ideology of liberal progressives.

Many Southern Democrats were racists; this you agree to. I did not say they were racists because they became Republicans. I asked what proportion of them took their racism with them when they changed parties and what proportion left it with their old affiliation. Simple question; your inability to understand it is how you protect the sublime simplicity of your views. You make yourself as stupid as you have to be to believe what you believe. You can see doctrinaire liberals switching on their stupidity as needed, and they can see you doing it.
Tax cuts without corresponding reductions in spending are what is leading us towards bankruptcy, and either tax increases or spending cuts or a combination will lead us away again. This country has had socialism lite since at least the New Deal and perhaps since Teddy R and the federal regulation of railroads, trusts, food, and drugs. The alternative to socialism lite (Europe, Canada, Australia) is the rule of the super-rich and large corporations, with an electoral figleaf (USA, Russia, and in a strange way China, where the superrich are protected by the Communist Party and the figleaf is the Proletarian Revolution rather than the vote).
Free enterprise tends to self-destruct; somebody wins. This is why we enacted anti-trust legislation; a small group of folks had won and we took their victory away because it was bad for everybody in the long run (including them). Let the electric company or the phone company or your ISP behave as it wants, and they will wind up owning part of everything.
