Well That Didn’t Last Long

Not long at all.

In an extraordinary outburst on the House floor, Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN) invoked the Holocaust to attack Republicans on health care and compared rhetoric on the issue to the work of infamous Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels.

“They say it’s a government takeover of health care, a big lie just like Goebbels,” Cohen said. “You say it enough, you repeat the lie, you repeat the lie, and eventually, people believe it.  Like blood libel.  That’s the same kind of thing, blood libel.  That’s the same kind of thing.”

And Congressman Cohen didn’t stop there.

“The Germans said enough about the Jews and people believed it–believed it and you have the Holocaust.  We heard on this floor, government takeover of health care.  Politifact said the biggest lie of 2010 was a government takeover of health care because there is no government takeover,” Cohen said.

Note how Democrats are more and more quoting Politifact, which is a pretty left-leaning organization. The American people know what this is and that is why they want it repealed.

    Where does he get the nerve to say it’s not a govt. takeover of health care….? That is a statement so divorced from reality that I do not know where to begin.
    The lefties must be taking November a little harder than I realized because as a group they are cracking up.

    Obamacare was FORCED on an unwilling citizenry.

    There is NO difference between that and this:

    “That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, ? That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government.”

    There will be no difference in the outcome now as there was then. We will exert whatever measures afforded by our Constitution to bring it to heel.

    But as our government has committed itself to a living Constitution construct, we see that even our Constitutional protections and avenue for recourse are dwindling with every passing month; how long can we then endure?

    The ‘National Socailist German Worker Party’ or Nazi for short was not much concerned with the U.S. Constitution and it’s Bill Of Rights. I don’t think they held tea parties with a lot of middle aged and elderly productive people spontaniously assembling peacefully of their own will and shared convictions to reduce the size of a growing Federal Government.
    Nazis were Socialists by deffinition. They took over banking, industry and the already socilized medical industry.
    Hitler was a dynamic spealker with a well organized group of advisors and operatives.
    He didn’t need a teleprompter.

    Rep. Cohen is a schande vor den goyim. My only sympathy for him stems from the fact that he represents a black-majority district and every primary campaign against him has been outright racist and/or anti-Semitic. He’s still a jerk, though…

    I was just reading an article at The Hill, where the writer takes offense to Mike Pence using the phrase “lock, stock and barrel”.

    Pence: Republicans want to repeal healthcare ‘lock, stock and barrel’

    House Republicans will vote to repeal the healthcare law “lock, stock and barrel,” Rep. Mike Pence said Wednesday.

    The remarks by the Indiana Republican, who is thought to be mulling a White House run, shows not all lawmakers shying away from colorful rhetoric in the wake of the Arizona shootings earlier this month. Pence is also a conservative favorite, and the remarks could be seen as a play for the base.

    Pence made the comments as the House moved toward a vote Wednesday to repeal the healthcare law.

    ?Today House Republicans are going to stand with the American people and vote to repeal their government takeover of health care lock, stock and barrel,? said Pence in a one-minute speech on the House floor.

    In an interview with The Hill, Pence said he continues to use the phrase because he believes clear communication and consistency are important.

    “I think it?s important that we speak plainly, that we speak confidently, and that we speak respectfully,” said Pence. “In this case I think I did that.”

    This is what liberals are hoping for. The left-wing website The Huffington Post quoted a top labor union official stating:

    “There’s tons of things that can be done [without congressional approval]. The administration has a vast capacity to act to improve the lives of ordinary Americans regardless of what happens in Congress.”

    Please note the manner in which destruction of our liberties is couched in politically acceptable speech, as in the above words: ” . . . act to improve the lives of ordinary Americans . . . ”

    And if we object to our encroaching subjugation, Cohen and his ilk label US as Nazis. To Cohen I say, if the shoe fits, you wear it, you LIAR AND HYPOCRITE.

    However the words of former Congressman Paul Kanjorski, the Pennsylvania Democrat, saying that Rick Scott, my new Republican Governor in Florida, should be put against a wall and shot, will forever be imprinted in this Floridian’s mind.

It did not take them long to prove every point we have been making for the last 2 weeks regarding their hateful rhetoric.     There are a number of conflicting “origins” of the phrase “lock, stock and barrel.” Could mean the parts of a flintlock rifle–could be a shopkeeper’s lock on the door, stock of merchandise and pickle barrel–could be the lock on the gate to the farm, the livestock and the rain barrel.

    I say that the liberals are fishing for something to attack with, so . . .

    I say let ‘em have it, HOOK, LINE AND SINKER!

    As I said in my comment to that article at The Hill, anyone with half a brain realizes that phrase usually means, everything included.

    Like, the whole shebang. But I guess we can’t use that phrase anymore because it contains the word bang.

    How about the whole enchilada, or would that be offensive to Mexicans?
