Has Anyone Checked to See if Glenn Beck is Still on the Air?

In light of the Keith Olbermann news, we might want to check to see if Glenn Beck is still on Fox News. After all, the lefties had a boycott of him going to try to get him canned.

Oh.

What’s that you say?

Glenn Beck is still on the schedule?

Oh. Okay. Thanks for letting me know.

As far as Olbermann goes, we should note that he was not actually fired. It was a mutual decision. We should also note that for all the “climate of hate rhetoric” out there, Olbermann was on MSNBC for eight years. Glenn Beck has only been on Fox since 2008 and even Olbermann’s own compatriot Rachel Maddow says Beck wasn’t as the left claims he is until he went to Fox.

I’m sure Olbermann will be back. For a reaction to his departure, all you need do is check my twitter feed. For the last forty-eight hours I’ve been told where to go, how to get there, and encouraged to get AIDS or die in a fire along the way.

So much for the new tone.

Thanks to you Erick. Good riddance to the Bloviator.

  • JadedByPolitics

God! Beck believes in a God and Olbermann believes in himself. The former has a job and is beloved by his viewers (principles do that) the latter is a disgusting human being!

I’ve been watching Glenn Beck since his CNN days and his first days at Fox News. He’s been off his game for quite a while now.

I just don’t like the format. He talks to the camera for an hour and has few guests. A Fox News host can do this on occasion, but not every night.

This “e4″ thing has lost me.

Beck was great in exposing Van Jones and other radicals, but he seems to be recycling stuff.

As for Keith Olbermann, yes, he was terrible. But I liked to see which Republicans made his “Worst Persons in the World.” The segment was so bad, it was entertaining.

Lawrence O’Donnell isn’t ready for the prime time slot. He’s a one trick pony–attacking Sarah Palin. He needs an enemy like that to get him animated. He can’t present or discuss any issue without an enemy.

Ed Schultz is a hyper-partisan blowhard who deserves small ratings.

Perhaps MSNBC thinks it can draw a young audience with Cenk Uygur. He’s another witless hyper-partisan blowhard. He recently did a “special comment” on Dylan Ratigan’s show, basically accusing Sarah Palin of being an accomplice to murder.

WIthout Keith Olbermann and with higher profiles for Lawrence O’Donnell, Ed Schultz, and Cenk Uygur, there’s no cause to celebrate.

MSNBC instantly gets worse. Hard to believe, I know!

He’s off the radio airwaves oin several stations in the Philly market area…WPHT and WDOV…Hummm…SMIRK Smerconish…you know the Liberal In Conservative clothing…took over Hannity’s spot… Wonder how their ratings are doing.

  • mollybr1

WPHT promotes the new schedule as new local programming. Sounds like implementation of the Fairness Doctrine through other means. Beck has audio streaming of his show on his website as well as his show. Rush is still on WPHT so I’ll still tune in just for that. Waiting with some amusement to see what the ratings are.

  • erp617

Now that Todd’s been busted by a prostitute, he’s ready for a prime time cable talk show of his own ala Eliot Spitzer and he doesn’t even need a female echo.

Todd would be great and get great ratings.

    Pass it on.

  • carolina

The new ownership will make some changes no doubt. Maybe it will be some decent commentators?

  • rbdwiggins
  • Return to Revolution

PHT said they wanted to promote “local” content. Dom Giordano is decent but booting Beck and Hannity? Its hard to believe that one of the largest cities in the country has neither. And smerconish is a raging imbecile. I hope the station crashes.

  • Scope

and that is pretty bad. Beck has changed his direction and programming now so many times no one knows what to expect him to do next, and the next has always been worse than the last. Apparently he doesn’t understand that when you have something that is very successful, like his first months on Fox, you don’t just arbitrarily change it with a whim. It seems Beck gets bored, or more enlightened (bad) and he keeps going down more and more. I just read a very negative appraisal of his new book 7 something, and that it is going to lose him even more support. Is the guy on a business suicide mission? DIY has been more interesting than his shows lately.

As of this week, WOR 710 radio replaced Glenn Beck with Mike Gallagher. Glenn use to be on the radio 9am-12noon. I can’t believe it. New York is a big audience. Surprised Glenn didn’t mention it.

  • rightwingmom52

hardly put Todd Palin in the same category as Spitzer. Why even mention it?

  • mosander

I think someone has put a muzzle on Glenn for a while now because eligibility issue has not come up. If the “president” had an alien Brittish father, under Natural Law, he would be a dual citizen and not qualified. But worse than that, he was adopted in Indonesia and listed as an Indonesian citizen. His grandmother could have gotten him his Connecticut social security number easily. That makes him an ALIEN president, not even a citizen. Doesn’t matter where he was born.
As to Olbermann, I quit watching msnbc because of him. He is a disgusting communist.

  • trutexan

Exposing radicals is one thing, but Beck is now in the process of educating/re-educating the American public as to why those radicals are “radicals” and why their methods are wrong for this country. He’s spreading the word of the Founders and letting us come to our own conclusions instead of just pointing out the radicals. His ratings are still high for that time slot too. I can’t imagine any other host in that time slot being able to sell 70k copies of a book in a week on his topics that didn’t sell that many copies since publishing years before. To those of us who get it like you and I, it can be mundane. But we need to teach our children and grandchildren those principles because the schools sure aren’t.

  • kervick

I agree. He’s gone all Christian and New Age recovering Alcoholic Personal growthy. Bad schtick. Libertarian investigative truth -teller was incredible. The beginning of the end was the 812 Rally in Washington.

  • kervick

And Gallagher comes across as a poppous blowhard, even if he is correct most of the time. The conservative movement needs to find some more temperate voices. Guys with committment to principles and good humor like Reagan or even Pat Buchanan.

  • CJB68

I was wondering what the heck happened to Beck on WPHT.  When my father and I discussed this, he went so far as to say that it was the station acting in anticipation of the revival of the “Fairness Doctrine”, and how that was in effect back when Rush Limbaugh got his start.  I forgot about the local content being given front billing on the airwaves back in my youth.

When I was a kid, we used to have this libertarian talker named Herb Homer who was pretty outspoken on the old WWDB FM talk station.  I used to think that he was a pretty straight talker, but then Rush started airing on local AM stations sometime around 1991.  I was hooked since, and Homer turned into a shill for the Clintons after George Stephanopoulos paid him a visit sometime in ’93.  Hannity followed soon after, and then Beck.

It’s like I once said about the comicbook industry following that “crusade” launched by the college professor Frederick Wortham during the 1950s — the industry is run by a bunch of pansies who’ll fold as soon as the words “Congressional hearing” reach their ears.  More so in deep blue districts like Philadelphia than elsewhere.

  • CJB68

I believe that Gallagher used the term “moribund” to describe his personality on the air once.  He just acts as the lone voice in the wilderness decrying the end of the Republic.  I suppose living and working in California does that to you.

I can agree with his assessment of “liberalism” being a mental disorder, though.  It seems that being on the public dole for most of your life, and filling your head with all the narcissism and nihilistic hyperbole against conservatives tends to erode whatever common sense and decency a person has in them.  Eventually, it gets to where you’re cynically touting the virtues of being a welfare addict and socialist shill to whomever it is that you want to torque off…

  • atillathehun

Exposure is the enemy of those who believe as Olbermann. As with the Obama dude, the narcissim and venom eventually comes shinning through the intellectual psychobabble.
When the socialistic meassage gets exposed it usually dies a natural death. Liberalisim cannot stand the light of day or full exposure.

  • bigmaude

I personally have been listening to beck since the week of 9/11. Gone to his stage shows, read his books and this summer he went weird on me. His business of course, but his mix of Mormonism/new age/some freaky type of Christianity/Oprahism makes me want to hurl. I have a minister, thank you, just give me the old Glenn. I’m not recording his show anymore and am listening to Alex Jones with an app, and seems Glenn may have been getting some of his info there, just sayin’. Love to theological here but probably not a good idea.

  • cam1

    one makes when they vomit?

  • winks

How does Keith Olbermann ending his show, for whatever reason, have anything to do with your twitter feed, you narcissist!? ?People hate you irrespective of Keith’s career choices!

And for the record, Glenn Beck was not a gold selling, self righteous, uninformed, self promoting idiot prior to his stint on FOX. ?He was a pill popping, infidel, driving his Dolorean around backwards in Seattle, and getting arrested for DUI. ?He was however, still an idiot back then, with a very left wing shock radio morning show.

  • winks

What are you thanking Erik for? He had nothing to do with this…maybe thanks Keith?

  • http://www.erickerickson.org Erick Erickson

    Thanks for the morning laugh.

  • winks

Gold, Glenn beck believes in gold…not god. I think you made a typo?!?!

  • http://theminorityreportblog.com Repair_Man_Jack

    How’s the hangover doing?

  • betsp

Todd Palin is a good guy and that’s what drives you libs nuts. Now, Gore, he is the kind who would grab and pay.

  • lojofo61

and is second only to Rush IMHO. I lived in Minneapolis for 19 years before moving to KC 3 years ago. I’ve listened to conservative talk radio for 15 years. Stigall is much like Rush only with a better sense of humor. Philly is lucky to have him. In my opinion, he’s far better than Beck or Hannity. Everyone in KC is hoping Stigall goes national. Many of us stream his live show from Philly ~~ even though he comes on at 4:30 a.m. our time!

  • miroco

Let us not be judgemental gang. Wait, why not? I pretty much agree— ahhh but I am NOT supposed to agree. I am supposed to be rationa, reasonable and— and that is part of why I switched to Tea Party from wore out Republican. I want to kick whoevers’ ass who said phase in weenie spending cuts, I want to cheer whoever fired that ass–le Olbersleeze. I want to slap Glen around when he gets too much into the evangelist mode— at least once a day I want to slap Shep around, but at least I can stand to watch him. (Always cracks me up when lefties think nobody can tell)

  • leehazel

Could there be some relationship between Immelt’s incarnation as an Obamanite and Olbermann’s exit from GE’s MSNBC. LOL
    Just wondering.

  • sharinlite

Would someone please, with specificity and in excruciating detail, list 10 things that Glenn Beck has said that are not true! I am tired of even the right painting him badly. Read history folks! It didn’t take a Glenn Beck to tell me 50% of what he says….I knew it already and I even knew about George Soros and emailed the fool years before anyone even knew he existed. Glenn went left when he joined FOX?
Rachel is not for this real world, she exists in her own elitist existence where the sky is orange and sun is blue…pleeeeeeeese!

  • williamjameson

‘m sure all the angry libs want to believe its true but the source is thin an unreliable at best. Besides even if it were true Todd Palin isn’t running for office nor is his wife.

And this little rant from da lybrul has nothing to do with Creep Olbermann.

  • http://impudent.edublogs.org/ kyle8

    everything is relative.

  • http://impudent.edublogs.org/ kyle8

    everything is relative.

  • williamjameson

He deserved to fail. Anyone who lies about a potus being a war criminal, calls Bush and Cheney Nazi’s repeatedly, refers to Bush as dumb and makes sexist rants about Sarah Palin. Well he deserves to be shown the door mutual or not, he was not a journalist. The former president of NBC was shown the door for poor performance of NBC and MSNBC and that slug protected the hatemongers like “Creep” so out with one and so go the rest.

Beck isn’t a gold broker, his opinion didn’t convince anyone to buy gold. If they did then they made money so long as they didn’t buy gold clap coins. Even then its buyer beware. Beck does a good show 40% of the time, he nailed your messiah time and again. Van Jones too.

Is Beck an “infidel”, if so that means you are a liberal jihadist, right? ROFL.

  • politicalpaw

    Question 4 @billmaher: how’s the “teabagger” slurs workin out? @keitholbermann http://tinyurl.com/4qhvctp @davidshuster http://tinyurl.com/4r5fzrg SEE YA!

    @PoliticalPAW

  • whatwillyoudowithoutfreedom

If Philly would have been around when Sodom and Gomorrah was in God’s sites He probably would have spared them and took Philly. I imagine that Hannity and Beck was burning their ears more than they could stand.
