    Chairman of the Banking Committee

    excerpt:

Still, pressure is mounting for Murphy, R-Cumming, to at least temporarily leave his post after the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. filed suit Tuesday against him and seven other former insiders of a failed Alpharetta bank.

Regulators allege gross negligence and various breaches of fiduciary duty by Integrity Bank insiders related to loans made from 2005 to 2007. The FDIC is seeking more than $70 million in damages.

Murphy told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Tuesday that he had no plans to step down as chairman. In a statement, Murphy said Wednesday afternoon that the public has yet to hear the full story.

Amazing you support Cain Concap considering the nonsense you and your parrot spewed today about putting social issues on the back burner and staying quiet about them. Funny you railed about politicians only being for fiscal issues and not allowing social issues to be the front of their campaign which would cause division amongst us and lose us independent votes, yet Cain is very strong on social issues, makes no apologies for his faith and his strongly held social views, and has said they would be not only important in his choices for positions should he win, but would be a vocal part of his campaign.

You two seem to be oil and water, unless of course you only felt like lecturing us dumb socons today but do not nor have you every actually stood behind your “strong” convictions about the lack of value social beliefs hold in politics.

By the way, the site you linked even has video of Cain talking about the importance of his social views………..can not beat this irony with a steel rod. So much for you supporting a candidate that is, as you state, “A” political.

    That’ll leave a mark.

never has been, and may never be. He proudly talks about his strongly held social views/christian values and how he feels the many social issues can be fixed. It is only in your mind and self rationalizing that he is a fiscal only conservative or a fiscal first conservative. The reality is, he is a man who believes equally in both social conservatism and fiscal conservatism and puts neither above the other.

Personally, after reading your posts with writeblock, would have expected you to be a fan of someone along the lines of Rudy or Romney, not Cain. Glad you like him and glad you support him, but surprising all things considered.

Fiscal first (not instead of) social
    don’t you understand?

We are not fiscal only. You can not separate the two. The social first only people have had their chance, and this is what it has gotten us.

Did you not see one of my other posts?

    Just on Fox

    In short

The fiscal first conservatives have rocketed more pro-life candidates to Washington than ever before, thus increasing the social conservatives chances of over turning Roe v Wade

See, you can not separate the two.

  • powertothepeople

you must be correct. I grew way too tired of this rhetoric and nonsense with writeblock, so not going to start up with you. So I am simply going to say this:

Cain is not fiscal first by any stretch of the imagination. You can say it a thousand time and click your heels three times and it is not going to change the fact he has put his christian and social views at the forefront of this life and possible campaign. But keep on clicking those heels, maybe that will change.

Never said fiscal conservatives are not or can not be social conservatives in theory. Never said they can not hold strong views on social issues, so that nonsense holds no water. But as to the last part of your comment, again clicking heels does not make things so. We have not had a true social conservative in office in quite some time, so not sure where you think “we” have gotten us anywhere. And please do not name Bush, he was about as strong a social conservative as Joe Lieberman is.

In fact, if you want to lay blame on someone for where we are, you must look at the many in Congress who have little to no social value. It is fiscal issues and experts that have crashed this country, not us “evil” socons. If you are going to put blame anywhere, put it on the vast majority of so called republicans who were no socons who have been running this country for the last 20 years.

And no, did not see anything your wrote where you lay claim that it is fiscal conservatives who have pushed pro life people into power. Had I seen an article like that, I would have told you to stop drinking and making up facts. Even without any real numbers, the reality is someone who does not hold social views as a priority will not push them in congress. A person who avoids making such an important issue a major part of their campaign rhetoric will not make it any kind of priority in congress or the white house.

Fiscal conservatives who do not push or hold social views are a small minority in this party. They do not have the ability to push anything without us carrying the weight.

  • concap

Social first only people I refer to, are the Democrats
not the social conservatives on the right.

The socials on the right are social first (not instead of) fiscal

If you are on the right you can not separate the two.

If you are on the left you can, and they have.

I agree about stopping this exchange.

How ever you can have the last word if you wish
