The Erick Erickson Show — Open Container Friday

I was in such a hurry tonight that I didn’t put this up on time. The show is live from 9 to midnight. You can listen live at http://wsbradio.com. You can call in at 1-800-WSB-TALK.

Consider this an open thread.

I got email from my dad in Indiana recently, and he mentioned that my mom (who listens to a lot of talk radio) had a new friend, on out of Atlanta at 9pm, and he had a website, redstate.com, that I should check out sometime.

    I told them I’d been here since 2004. (-:

    a run for the Presidency?

Will Boortz ever muster the courage to take another call on the issue of abortion? Will he realize his own obvious hostility to Christians? He even pronounces the word with mocking derision in a comic voice and yet feigns shock that he is regularly called out on the hostility.

Obviously Hannity failed to intervene effectively. Erick, please take Neil to Church. His hostility indicates that God may be hounding him to get baptized!

John McCain was on GMA the other day with George “I’m not a partisan hack, really” Stephanopolous to discuss the SOTU, and made some idiotic comment about how, after Tucson, we need to be more civil. I was so mad at this casual acceptance of the absolute calumny that political talk had ANYTHING to do with the Tucson shooter, that I almost threw a rock through my TV.

Of course, McCain would like nothing more than to have all of these nikulturny Tea Partiers go home so that he and his establishment buddies can continue his policy of only being conservative during election years.

The man is a certified war hero, and I held my nose and voted for him in 2000 because the alternative was worse, but I honestly wish he’d either (a) retire, or (b) cross the aisle permanently and declare himself a Democrat.

A 3rd party will not be an issue in 2012.

The only new real threat in 2012 is to the Tea Party movement.

Moderate Democrats forced to moved to the right-left wing of the Republican Party have joined forces with the Social First Conservatives that refuse to move to the right.

This will give the remaining Conservatives the power needed to place who they want in office.

Unless the number of Tea Party members increase ten fold, I fear we will end up with a Fiscal light (Bush) in office for 2012.

We need someone that is just as far to the right Constitutionally as well as fiscally, than Obama is to the left on spending. Unless the Tea Party movement has total control over who gets elected, this will not happen.

Another Bush will totally crash the economy and guarantee a 3rd Party run in 2016.

In order to save what?s left of America, that Party will do away with every thing outside of Article I, Section 8 ?Powers of Congress?

    Wanted, Tea Party members
