The Hitler comparison is unfortunately nothing new from the left. The Stalin reference is quite surprising. After all, these guys admired uncle Joe.

I expect most people think that Nazi is an abbreviation for National Socialism; I expect relatively few people know that the Nazi party was not simply the National Socialist party but was actually the National Socialist German Workers’ Party, abbreviated NSDAP. What need could Germans under the Nazis have for labor unions? The party was the union. Similarly, what need could Hitler have had for other labor union leaders when he himself was the leader of the Nazi party?

That was on the anti-Brown commercials when he ran for the senate. Really, he didn’t let us down because we knew what to expect from him. I think the trajectory of Kasich’s economic plan at the time of the election and the fall-out from all this union rabble rousing will play heavily in whether he is re-elected.

What double standard?

As an Ohioan, I have been in contact with Senator Sherrod Brown numerous times. My impression was slippery and slimy with the way he would reply to me. For instance, when people in Ohio were calling him and writing him opposed to ObamaCare, his approach was to say that “there were a lot of people in favor of it”.

I had the misfortune to be on a tour stop with the good Senator. We have done many other politicians; they are generally friendly, talk to the briefer in a collegial manner, etc. I watched Brown disparage a briefer (he had done a good job) in a pretty nasty way because he didn’t agree with about 4 words the guy said.

Brown needs to be gone. Hopefully, the Secretary of State office is straightened out enough with the new Republican incumbent that he can actually get beat in a fair election.

I it always a challenge when those in the media have not even a paucity of historical knowledge. Hitler went after the unions because they were the hotbed of Marxism and the main thrust of the revolution to transform Germany into a communist nation. The rise of the third Reich would not have been possible without the subversive activities of the trade unions and the well organized subversive activities led by Marxists like Rosa Luxemburg. Hitler could not have succeeded if there was not a major public outcry and revolt against the subversion by the unions and the organized efforts for the revolution.

False analogies such as Brown’s are one of the cornerstones of what passes for arguments on the Left:

I have a girlfriend
Hitler had a girlfriend
I am therefore like Hitler in all other respects

As in the example, such arguments also typically take a Godwinian turn.

Even if what he said had historical merit it would still be wrong, wrong, wrong.

Brown and the left will continue to get away with just such comparisons. Why? Because, in fact, they are fascists and we do, in fact, live in a fascist society. The fact that even you feel compelled to be polite about it is proof of just how insidious and pervasive the change has become. And, until we conservatives can grow the testicles required to acutally shout these bastards down and physically push back, we had better all get used to lliving in a fascist society.

Also took the guns away from the populace just like the Democrats would like to do. I’m not calling them Nazis or Commies, just saying.

The nazis were very environmentally conscious. They had many “green” incentives and practices of the sort that brown champions. They were especially adept @ recycling, just ask the Jews.

why the MSM continues to support the far left. There is such a great story in revealing the absolute ignorance that exists on the left. Every day we are reassured of the reality that the far left in government, media,education, “religion” and the rest of their flock operate in the emotion zone and reality is never a close neighbor.

As for the unions, it appears the bed they have made for themselves needs to have the sheets changed. Unions are not au priori bad. They have, like many institutions, been corrupted while their members slept at the switch.

Which party is in favor of controlling entire segrments of the economy? GM, Chrysler, Health Care Industry, Banks — any of that ring a bell? Which party wants more gun control? Senator Sherrod has voted lockstep with the gun-control crowd. NRA gives him an “F” so far. Oh yes, Hitler passed laws banning the possession of guns; and in particular he banned his political enemies, the Jews, from owing guns:

Laws onf Firearms & Ammunition (passed in 1928);
Weapon Law (March 18, 1938);
Regulations against Jews (1938)

And which party is generally in favor of more limited government powers, a far more restrained view under the Commerce Clause?

And to reduce government powers you’d also have to restraiin out-of-control government spending right? That’s what’s really going on here: reigning in government spending and thus reducing governent power.
