DeMint Tried to Stop Her. But Murkowski Lied, Now Babies Will Die

DeMint tried to warn us. But Lisa lied. Now she’s fighting to make sure your taxpayer dollars are used to kill babies.

And how do Washington Republicans respond to this betrayal by Murkowski, who lost the primary, vilified a patriot like Joe Miller, and lied about wanting to use taxpayer funds for abortion? They promote Murkowski as spokeswoman for the Republican Party, of course.

GOP FAIL.

In my heart I want to give the GOP every opportunity to enact the will of the people, to do what’s right, and to restore fiscal sanity, decency, and constitutional principles to the federal government.

But it is daunting to understand that the only entity aside from God able to prevent the destruction of the republic by Socialists, is the frakkin’ GOP doing the bidding of patriots with all urgency and determination that the emergency commands. Daunting. Without the GOP we are left to apolitical solutions. Their steadfastness is the only remaining political road to solvency and restoration. All other roads lead to statism or chaos.

People like Lisa Murkowski are the enemy of liberty and decency, and are complicit in whatever destruction we are attempting to stave off. May millions of murdered unborn children curse her name.

  • phlogiston

Or does the Republican leadership just think that we are?

  • romeg

That the Alaska Republican voters recognized when they chose Joe Miller over her worthless, career politician fat *ss. Fie on her and the rest of the Goobers On Parade that preferred her over a true conservative.

November of 2012 can’t come soon enough for me.

Friends don’t let Friends vote Democrat and, in some cases, for Republican incumbents that have held office for more than 10 years. There are exceptions, of course, but we must identify and separate the the Wheat from the Chaff between now and then.

I mean this in all due respect, of course.

  • saintgeorgegentile

Exile, deportation, shunning – and that’s for her supposedly republican cohorts.

  • conservativemusician

But ultimately, the people of Alaska who voted for this loser over a true conservative are ultimately to blame. We already know that the GOP establishment is not going to support true conservatives, but we the people are responsible for the quality of representation we have, not them.

  • conservativemusician

I meant that the GOP establishment will not support true conservatives.

He should be leading the charge on this and the budget instead of “getting along.” Back to business as usual. Not many of the TP’ers I know in Ohio thought he should have been Speaker. Honestly, I didn’t think he’d keep up the act this long.

We are at a critical time as a nation in regards to our energy legislation. Alaska oil is pivotal to this outcome. Who do you want to represent Alaska and their constituents? As much as I do not like her viewpoints and decisions on many matters, that are important – Alaska elected her. Elections have consequences.

Let us disagree and fight her on many other issues, but I question why, when Alaska is so important in this present battle, we elect to minimize the issue by commingling other battles that are as important. The result is to minimize them all because if one goes down, they all go down. In reality they are not related and each stands its own.

We will fight the Planned Parenthood issue on its own front. These are two different battles, and I hope we are capable of moving our lieutenants, generals,
and officers, etc., in areas of their strengths, or we are doomed.

We cannot get so myopic and territorial that we we get bogged down in the affront on every molehill. We must keep our eye on the goal, or we will fall prey to their objective….create confusion and conflict…

  • runner12

Defunding Planned Parenthood is both a fiscal issue and a moral one. Energy independence is not going to mean squat if we are up to our necks in debt.

The government should not be subsidizing an organization like PP. Especially when their clinics are not up to code and turn a blind eye to human trafficking. If PP wants to remain in business, let them be privatized.

This is just plain common sense.

BTW, Sen. Murkowski is a disgrace to her state. Any person who would divide the votes of her party and submit to a sham of a write-in candidacy cares more about power than principle,

  • libertyatstake

Doesn’t even scratch the surface of the contempt I feel for the (R) establishment upon reading this. Why doesn’t Li’L Lisa just join Dingy Harry’s caucus and be done with the charade.

…in a healthy coat of tar and feathers.

    She is most deserving.

(And let’s hear it for those bright folks in Alaska that swallowed her b.s. hook, lie and sinker.)

  • nivlem

Our representatives are voted in to represent a laundry list of issues. If we cannot fight on multiple fronts at one time we are screwed. Our Representatives realize this everyday. They have to juggle a phenomenal number of issues we are not even aware of every day.

I have major issues on her opinion of PPH. but her opinion on PPH does not cloud my assessment of her opinions on drillling in Alaska. It is like comparing apples to oranges.

If we lose ourselves in this small fight, we will never win the war.

  • drfredc

The Murky problem is just another fine example of how the GOP doesn’t get it when it comes to getting our various social marketplaces under fiscal control. The solution isn’t defunding these programs — it’s time to start calling the liberals bluff. Don’t defund PP, turn it into an NGO that taxpayers who want to fund can contribute a portion of their taxes to as a full tax credit. If liberals are correct, it will get more than enough funding, or not. Add a few more liberal programs (like Education Dept) to the NGO tax credit list and pretty soon even liberal taxpayers will have to start to making tough choices as there just isn’t enough of their money to fund all their favorite programs… This can be done in an organized fashion via a Taxpayer Directed Budget.

  • http://whattoreadtoday.blogspot.com/ Paula

I know Boehner’s in the House and Murkowski’s in the Senate. Just having a senior moment! : (

  • http://www.hakubi.us/ Neil Stevens

    Do you blame them?

  • streiff

I can see how someone could compare the two. Especially considering that drilling in AK has less of a chance happening under the current administration than defunding Planned Parenthood.

So you’re saying that oil that we can get out of the ground anytime in the future is more important than some portion of the 1 million babies killed each year.

Gotta tell you, stud, you are probably posting on the wrong site.

  • gillis7

but when people use it to run on …they will lose because the independents needed to win elections would rather go to the socialists than the aborto-centrists in the voting booth.

republicans should be against Abortion…but keep their mouths shut on the issue until an actual legislative vote comes along.

Abortion as an issue will ensure less conservative in office if they run with their mouths open on this issue.

conservatives ..should be silent on abortion until the legislative vote

  • Gmac

She is after all no longer a RINO but has become an ‘Independent’.

I certainly don’t have any expectations of her voting any way other than whichever way the wind blows her and if enticed I can see her joining the Democrat party. I wouldn’t doubt that Patty Murray is dangling something to do so right now.

  • LDahl752

The R caucus probably wanted her to express the need for more domestic exploration and drilling. I’m far more troubled by her opposition to defunding Planned Parenthood. Touting their contraception counseling and cancer screening for low-income women is insufficient.

There are other clinics and organizations which could do that, with no connection at all to abortion services. We’ve seen too many instances of PP’s law-breaking shenanigans. It’s time for PP to make it on their own, without federal funding, and Lisa M should know that. I think an organization like Heartbeat International would be delighted to have some help doing what they do, and maybe some of the couples who wait years and years to adopt a child would have their waits shortened. If the federal gov’t is determined to dole out hundreds of millions for something, I’d much prefer it be to promote adoption than to fund abortion.

Yet, she was rejected by Alaska Republicans in the Primary. Joe Miller DEFEATED her in that primary. It is true that Alaska voters chose her over Joe Miller in the General election but were she truly a Republican and not a despotic political hack afflicted with all of the ills of that breed, she would have, gracefully and magnanimously, endorsed Joe Miller and worked for his election. But this is HRH Princess Lisa. She’s ENTITLED to HER seat in the U.S. Senate. Why should she bow to the whims of Alaska’s Republican voters?

  • Christine (Trelaina)

We should absolutely shut up on this. Compromise & lie about our views. We have to do whatever it takes, ANYTHING to get elected. It’s all about the votes and the power after all. Once we control everything, we can just do whatever we want and the people can’t stop us, even if they don’t agree.

    ::::shudder::::

Oh, sorry….I thought I was on Daily Kos there for a minute.

  • Christine (Trelaina)

This is the ultimate payback. We attempted to REJECT her…she of the mighty Murkowski family, she of the “leave us the (&^(*^% alone” Alaska GOP.

Why not stay now, keep doing stuff like this, give the media a story and make the GOP look worse than it already does?

    Doesn’t surprise me at all.

  • http://www.firstchevalier.com Mark Malcolm

and we all know it. Those who face reelection should begin sprucing up their resumes because actions like this (and inaction on other things) is going to be your downfall.

The senate has not learned from November 2010 what the house learned. They better, or they will.

  • Bill S

Are you saying it’s OK for Murkowski to support PP? That it’s just dandy for a quasi-Republican to give the radio address response? ?? Erick didn’t propose any action…he simply (and rightfully) slams the GOP leadership for putting this disgraceful woman in a position of leadership. She should be relegated to the back bench of the party, just as Collins and Snowe and the other faux Republicans have been.

Erick never said that a fight against PP funding is THE NUMBER ONE issue on the table. This diary was simply a criticism of GOP leadership failure. One can pose such criticism without saying that PP defunding is somehow more important than other issues.

  • fpete13527

She will assuredly spit more and more.

Most importantly, the legislator SUPPORTERS of the disgrace to humanity known as Murkowsky, (both inside of and outside of the beltway) need to get clear……your desks need to get cleaned out now because you will not have them for long.

Murkowski is probably at the top of the list of disgraces in the Senate next to DICK Lugar.

Message to GOP Senators….your EXTREMELY poor judgment in backing Murkowksi, coupled with your EXTREMELY spineless actions with respect to O-Care repeal and REAL budget cuts, are NOT going unnoticed…..and this goes for the House too.

If you thought Nov 2010 was a wake-up call (and evidently you didn’t) then 2012 will make it look pale. Start typing your resumes.

  • Stan

LOL!! Can I borrow that? It aptly describes Boehner, Murkowski, Cantor, Lindsey Graham, McCain…. the list goes on, and on, and on.

  • nivlem

Lisa Murkowski was chosen to speak on energy because she represents one of our most oil rich states on our nation. As the representative for Alaska her opinion carries an immense value to the rest of the nation.

Those of us that are engaged on websites like Redstate know her baggage, but the rest of the world does not. Should another representative speak for Alaska, they would question the value of their words.

Nothing in her statement addressed the issues Eric’s statement addressed PPH.
Her statements addressed the issues our nation is addressing,

It was only a statement. They did not nominate her for anything,

Who among us is going to cast the first stone against someone representing the interests of their state and the nation.

  • nivlem

Really…comparing a statement on our energy reserves in Alaska to dead children???
I have no respect or time for Lisa Murkowski, but I also do not have any dilusion that she wants to kill babies.
It is this type of melodrama that does morenharm than good.

  • Christine (Trelaina)

Nobody can talk about Alaska except someone from Alaska, or they have no credibility?

What if we didn’t have a Senator from Alaska with an R after their name? Who would have spoken then?

There were two freshmen among the seven Republican dissidents: Reps. Robert Dold (IL) and Richard Hanna (NY).

The others were Reps. Judy Biggert (IL), Mary Bono Mack (CA), Charlie Dent (PA) and Rodney Frelinghuysen (NJ). In his own category is Rep. Charles Bass (NH), who returned to Congress this year after a four-year hiatus.

Ring em up at their offices.

  • Bill S

The GOP appointed her as a defacto representative of the points of view of the GOP. There was no disclaimer at the beginning of her talk that said “Ms. Murkowski only speaks for us regarding energy”. The next time her mug shows up on TV, whether it’s energy or not, the unwashed masses will go “oh, she’s that Republican Senator who gave the radio response”. She gains instant credibility as a significant member of the GOP caucus, despite the fact that she is a pro-abortion-provider squish. A move like this could have only come from someone such as Mitch McConnell.,,which, of course, is the core problem.

  • chihank

After MOOcowski decided to run as an Independent, DeMint wanted to strip her of her seniority on the Eneergy Committee. But hacks like Thune and McConnell refused. After secretly undermining JoeMiller, the Senate RINOs decided to let MooCowski keep her senority on the Energy Committee. What a disgrace by Senate Republicans.

We need to primary every senator who got elected without support from the Club 4 growth, with a handful of exceptions from DEEP BLUE states ( Sure, I’m not thrilled with the 2 from Maine, but it is Maine, I don’t see us doing any better from that State )

You can’t expect people to support just anyone. You have to have a better alternative candidate if you expect people to primary at the drop of a hat.
