RedState: A “Nerve Center” of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy

Well, this will make you feel good.

The kids over at Media Matters are gearing up to lose their 501(c)(3) status I’m guessing as they go headlong into a new mission to destroy Fox News and Newscorp.

Along the way, the Politico tells us this:

The group, launched as a more traditional media critic, has all but abandoned its monitoring of newspapers and other television networks and is narrowing its focus to Fox and a handful of conservative websites, which its leaders view as political organizations and the “nerve center” of the conservative movement.

Well thanks for recognizing our position in life, Media Matters.

They are rather obsessive about those things that appear here at RedState and in the twitter feeds of various RedState contributors. They even listen to my radio show!

Truth be told, fundraising seems to be the whole purpose behind this Politico article. Couple it with the fawning piece about the Media Matters guerilla pundit training program where they are trying to get people on Fox News and you have the makings of a “we need money” PR blitz with the help of Media Matters friends in the press.

It is rather funny. In the Politico, the story is about Media Matters making it their new mission to destroy Fox. In the Washington Post, the story is about how Media Matters is training lefty pundits to get on Fox.

But the key takeaway is that we now know that by being a RedState user you are seen as part of the nerve center of the vast right wing conspiracy.

I think we should fundraise off this news!

While some media dances around the edges and doesn’t hold our own GOP and “conservative” elected officials and leaders in check, RedState’s been a nerve center & a spine center when others have embraced the elitism that cost the GOP the 2006 and 2008 elections.

    Kudos!

  • spainishirish

It does make us feel good. You can tell much about an institution’s character by its enemies. The fundraising idea, while snark, actually is a pretty good one–use Media Matters’ punks to rake in cash.

  • donnybrooke

We can expect a new influx of trollsnew redstate commentators in the following weeks?

Hot dog! Get the ban hammer ready! ^_-

  • smagar

Bring plenty of lotion! (H/T Greg Gutfield and his satires of Media Matters on “Redeye”.)

  • edwyrd

The real work in the revolution is taking place at the precinct level in the republican party. The beast that will denude liberal political muscle is being nurtured and raised right under their crossed myopic eyeballs.
And in that sense redstate IS the nerve center, but there is no stopping us now!!!

  • Tbone

I just didn’t know what it was until now.

  • acat
  • dajeeps

I am happy to oblige. The only problem is that we just couldn’t make that stuff up. Sorry to disappoint the lefties, but video just doesn’t lie, at least not as much as they do. LOL

  • averagevoterdotcom

which is why they want to attempt to destroy us from within. Sound marxist? No surprise. They lose at fair play on the battlefield, so turn to try to destroy us in our camp. Their vapid ideas hold no sway anymore with the middle voters, their AA president is a true miserable failure, so they are desperate.

    Bring it on.

  • Tbone

While it won’t be of any comfort, you really weren’t fooled by me except by my false claim. Actually, I think sp4 may be Erick having you on. I mean, like really, sp4 has got to be a caricature. I hope.

  • spainishirish

The Left in this nation held total power for almost half a decade in no small measure because it controlled the media. Like its counterparts in the barbarous and murderous East Bloc, it knew information not only was power but the path thereto. What these communist imbeciles don’t seem to understand is that the genie is out of the bottle. They can shut down FOX, Redstate, fill in the blank, and something else will spring up in its place in a nanosecond. They are the Dutch boy with his finger in the dyke.

Sunshine has killed this evil ideology, but it just doesn’t know it yet.

I would not hold your breath waiting on the federal government to revoke their 501(c)(3) status. That threat only applies to social conservative organizations and churches that dare to speak out against the liberal social agenda.

  • reaganauh2o

    Thanks Erick! RedState rocks!

  • Adjoran

then we are successful, and performing a necessary public function.

  • Finrod

The funny thing is that a lot of people will probably discover RedState simply through Media Matters’ denounciation, and thus new recruits will be drafted for the conservative revolution..

Oh wait, did I say that out loud? Oopsie.

  • Knightbrigade

    Does Media REALLY Matter??
Well Media Matters does NOT, that’s for sure.

Everyone here at REDSTATE wave and say HI to them…

and the conservative tea partiers and the other grass roots conservatives in the U.S. were implored by the “people with the big microphones,” the members of the “Conservative Grievance Industry,” implored conservatives to flock into their respective Republican Party committee meetings, and really explained to them what that meant.

I’ve pretty much given up on anyone with a “big microphone” actually doing it. And, in the end, whether they do it or not is not that important. What is important is that each one of us who “gets” the Neighborhood Precinct Committeeman Strategy does what we can to carry it out.

Thank you for what you are doing!

RedState composes several of the vertebrae for conservative action that props up the spineless establishment GOP. Others in the spine include Mark Levin and Rush, along with Glenn, who keep up the broadcast pressure and HeritageAction, FreedomWorks, Club for Growth, and Americans for Prosperity their actions that compose the true spine of conservatism.

  • acat

Have you really not seen some of the previous “Cult of Palin” posters?

I’d think they’d be exactly what your wit is looking for in a victim.

  • acat

only applies to conservative christians. Al and Jesse are welcome to participate, and it’s just fine for certain Chicago churches to invite Democrat politicians to use their pulpits… but let a conservative church try something similar …

CONGRATULATIONS on a new appellation, Erick. That’s like a DSM for heroism in the culture war and all the more sweet for being awarded by the enemy.

  • renny

The unions, the left, the Dems., and their shadow cabinets of movealong.whatever and ilk are very seriously funding the recall movements against Rep. state senators in WI.

We need a tea party response, money bonbs, and all the rest to make sure we do not lose in WI, as that would be a bad indication of what could happen nationally in 2012.

  • ss396

The group, launched as a more traditional media critic, has all but abandoned its monitoring of newspapers and other television networks…

This admits what we have been saying all along, that the leftward bias of the traditional media is pervasive. Those organizations have been so far in the tank for so long that there is nothing for Media Matters to see there, so why spend any resources at it? They don’t even have to monitor them for deviations from the orthodoxy anymore

    “Free and independent press”. Yah.

all of that has to change. No more looking the other way while our foes abuse the laws they use against us.

They only preach to the choir. But really how sad is it that an entire well funded orginazation of political nerds is set up just because there is one cable TV organization that doesn’t toe the party line?

    Talk about paranoid meglomania.

I Love being just a small part of the VRWC. When you think about it the enemy of Media Matters is really themselves. This is what happens when you get everything you want and find out it isn’t the utopia you believed it would be. Then instead of confronting uncomfortable truths they start looking for subversive “counter-revolutionaries” who are keeping their dictatorship of the Proletariat from happening.

Just because Soros was a Nazi do you have to be one?.

  • Tbone

That got old a long time ago and besides, I’m not much for participating in the attack pack tactics that attract lesser lights.

Nope, I favor savoring the opportunities when the typically rational go logically wobbly, like the hair on fire hysteria about the NRA endorsements. Now that was delicious.

  • peterfny

It’s paranoid megalomania of the highest order. I have lefty associates that blame EVERYTHING on “Republicans”. If you so much complain about a re-run of your favorite TV show or a bout of gas from last night’s broccoli, they somehow find a way to blame it on “Republicans”. They’re totally gone upstairs.

  • macbookben

but I also like that of “terrorist cell” as well because while the left thinks they might be able to beat us RedStaters over the head with this (like using teabaggers in place of tea party), they are forced to conclude that they will never be able to chop off the head of this movement. That goes also for the establishment GOP’ers who wish we would just shut up and go away.

    Precincts: the new “terrorist cells.”

Emulating the anti-American, reality-denying rhetorical excesses of the Activist Left from 2000-2009 is no way to fight them.

When they publish falsehoods and lies in pursuit of that malicious goal then the organizations they have done this to can sue them into oblivion?

    Just asking the obvious question…

of a so-called right-wing conspiracy. Imagine their surprise when they find out that most of us are just everyday Americans that are sick of how the Left and their cronies have trampled on the Constitution.

It looks and sounds like Soros/Media Matters is trying to stifle free speech and we’re NOT going to have that in this country, not in America! Ever since Obama got elected, our freedoms in America are being ripped away from us.

  • cja99

MM/Soros, the Obama crowd just wants to stifle free speech. Fox isn’t part of the State Run Media/Mainstream Media, they don’t play along, so they’re supposed to just shut up and go away. How dangerous is that America – it’s called COMMUNISM!!!

  • powertothepeople

do not have the ability to stifle free speech so no they are not doing it. What they are doing is immoral, unethical, and sounds as if a 10 year old came up with the plan, but it is not doing away with free speech.

In order for free speech to be stifled, it would have to be taken by a power such as the police, state government, fed government, etc.

  • alvin691

All these progressive “strategists” ready to go on Fox News. Wonder what would happen if, all of a sudden, Fox stopped having them on their shows and picked more moderate voices instead of liberals.

It’s nice to be a part of the “Right Wing Conspiracy.” Afterall, on my small blog I have, at the bottom of each page – “Powered by a Right Wing Conspiracy.”

I put that in when Hillary Clinton coined the phrase as a funny.

Someone in the Obama Whitehouse took notice and made be an honorary member of their “Fight the Smears” website by calling me out their 27 times over the 2008 election.

These left-wingers are paranoid, nasty and can’t win on ideas or substance only attacks, smears and their brand of twisted truth.

So now I’m proud to be a Redstate user and having one more badge of honor helping to power that Right Wing Conspiracy known as facts and truth.

  • standingonhispromises

They keep telling me that it must be nice to be the center of my own little world. Now I can proudly say that I am recognized as such. I am honored. I stand proudly with Red State, Fox News, …..Sarah and Michelle……

is something I really don’t label myself with. Rather I see us as “Sons and Daughters of Liberty” much like the first patriots who stood shoulder to shoulder against the tyranny of England’s grip. We are in the image of those who drank the cup of freedom and faced a force larger than our own on the battleground of our time. The left sees this as a war against those of us who believe in the same spirit of freedom that dwelt in the minds that birthed this nation. We stand for truth, principled and fundamental to the freedom we strive to protect and defend. Not just for ourselves but for every man, woman, and child. We see the forces that conspire and manipulate to chip at every foundation to the greatest Nation on this earth. Our enemy believes they in their superior intellect have been chosen to lead. Any individual or collective who dares challenge their rationality is thus an enemy of the state. They have no problem in destroying the individual or a collective, either by lies spoken or in print or by disguised distortions of the truth. While they claim their righteous acts as being for the minority, the poor, and the working man. However they label their efforts it is neither productive, protective, or inspiring but is in fact a destructive arrogance of mind paired with a delusional and debased mind-set hell bent a lust for power. Any challenge to that ideologue therefore must be destroyed by any means necessary to preserve their irrational charge.

They know internally that they have lost on the battlefield of ideas and in their method of governing where it is clearly a who’s who that end up reaping the profits off the backs of the collective. Ours is based on the the individual who is in charge of their destiny.
And the individual is the true base of power that the left will never submit to rather they believe that it is the individual that must be shaped to serve others. In reality it becomes the haves vs have not and the individual is fodder on the battleground of their intentions. If we as a vast Right Wing Conspiracy will improve the lives of the individual then I wear that badge proudly, if we protect and defend the constitution and preserve it for future generations ours will have been a noble and honorable fight. If truth is a Conspiracy unto itself then I know I am not alone as I stand beside her for I would rather live on the foundations of truth instead of the ash pile of lies of their making.

    “For my mouth will speak truth;
Wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
    All the words of my mouth are with righteousness;
Nothing crooked or perverse is in them.
They are plain to him who understands,
And right to those who find knowledge,
