During the last debate, I could not get anyone of the prime Cain Twitter sites to give me a link. I am not as computer savvy as I would like. I got insulting responses like, ‘It is online’ or ‘Google it.’

At the end of the debate, one ‘Cain’ twitter site asked me if I blamed them for not providing a link that was readily available on Google. I said “Yes” do you only want Google savvy voters?’

I have not seen any improvement from the Cain web team but happy to see you are on top of it. Thanks again.

A guy was hitting on a girl in a bar. After a while she got up to leave. He asked her for her phone number. She said, “It’s in the book.” (meaning phine book for you young people) He then asked for her name. She said, “That is also in the book.”

Yea…I hate software, and now I have to either find a reliable live streaming video feed for the debate that i can split screen with Redstate… Or just shut everything off and break out the emergency wind up radio and candles…

Paging Neil Stevens to thread three…. Help! ;)

…not everybody can use common sense, logic and the most commonly used search engine in the WORLD.

Still, if it’s true that the Cain folks wouldn’t help him out, then that’s a bad commentary on Cain’s campaign staffers.

IF it’s true. Which I sincerely doubt.

On Gingrich: The country is “looking for someone who can rise above fierce political divisions.”

    HAHAHAHAHA!!!

On Paul: “He has quite a following.”

    Brilliant.

This is why nobody watches CNN, except for when Erick tells us he’s going to be on.

Here’s what I expect: The debate moderators are right this minute gleefully preparing buckets of chum to dump in the water.

However the insulting tone of this is obvious.

“not everybody can use common sense, logic and the most commonly used search engine in the WORLD.”

You sound like a Ron Paul supporter or a liberal.

  • progressivelibertarian

He is the only one with direct and quite substantive answers thus far.

    Huckabee’s absence is notable.

I think there were several winners from tonight’s debate. Herman Cain wins because he didn’t screw it up. If you didn’t know better, then you would think that he must have substantial political experience. He didn’t look like he was out of his league. For a guy with no experience in office, that is an important accomplishment.

However, for every good answer that Cain gave I think Pawlenty gave a better one. Pawlenty had a really good night and looked very Presidential. I think he gave the best performance of all the candidates.

Finally there was Newt. He gave some really great answers which reminded people that he is a talented guy. If he wasn’t Newt Gingrich, then he could be a contender.

What about the rest? Romney didn’t get a lot of time. I don’t think he did himself any harm. Ron Paul was Ron Paul. Santorum didn’t really impress. Bachmann made a reasonable impression but I just don’t see her as our next President.

The big loser was the debate format. 45 seconds is not enough time to properly answer questions about complicated policy issues. The moderator needed to spend less time talking so that there was more time for the candidates.

  • traversecityconservative

I kept hearing noises from him the entire time…

  • pantera

very well run debate CNN(yuck, threw up in my mouth a little)…
would of been better if it was 4 ppl 1st hour so answers could be more indepth.

90% agreement, 10% diff paths to common point…

bachman got highest number of applause, newt biggest applause…

glad there wasn’t 200 paul ppl there…they stop the debate during introductions…

  • kcdude

unh um um eh uh uh uh

Buy a light and let them talk for one minute. Flash the light at 55 seconds and cut off their mike at 70 seconds or so.

  • cpaguy

    Terrible debate format.

    They all did fine.

Sure, I didn’t like how Romney and Pawlenty pandered to the guy who had kids in the Navy (T-Paw almost made me puke…”not you too T-Paw….a panderer”…made me a bit sad). Bachmann made me a bit sick by ignoring a question to talk about her adopted kids. I really hate that type of panderimg.

I found it interesting that both Romney and Bachmann had on tons of makeup making both of them appear 20 years younger. I know…looks are important…

I really think Bachmann needed to set herself apart, and she failed (not that anybody else set themselves apart…but she really needed to).

Cain answered the Muslim question perfectly…and by the audience’s response (and Newt’s masterful piggybacking) his strategy on that issue is tone perfect (despite what the lamestream media trys to say about it).

Newt was terrific (I bet some of his ex-staff are kicking themselves right now). Showing why he is considered an intellectual (still don’t trust him).

Romney was good (I’ve been a big critic on this site about Rick Perry…and this debate confirmed it to me Romney = Perry). That RINO camo was in full effect.

Paul was good…got a lot of applause, and only said one or two kooky things.

Santorum was good. Like Bachmann, he really needed to set himself apart…and failed.

    T-Paw was good.

  • nod90

It’s ridiculous to expect the candidates to answer these type of questions in 45-60 seconds. They need a couple of minutes to properly lay out some ideas.

They could have saved a lot of time by having the moderator talk less.

  • rememberthealamo

Of the candidates there, all did ok, nobody knocked my socks off. And I’m a looong time Repub voter/delegate/precienct chair who pays close attention.

The fact that nobody was outstanding head and shoulders above the rest – then I suppose you could say Rick Perry won.

  • traversecityconservative

Then you know they are wrong. They say it’s the Romney/Bachmann show and that’s mainly because they got a lot of airtime. The people saw what they needed to see…and that’s substance…Romney was enough of a Rino when he entered the debate and just piled on even more at the debate. It’s all about TRUST. The only ones up there who I trust to stay true to their conservatism are Cain, Bachmann and Santorum.

He never gave them enough time to get to the meat of their answers (not surprising). We need to hear extended answers, not soundbites. Seemed like the event was moderated by the DNC.

  • littlehouse18
  • jeffreywturner

I mean aren’t these three the only ones who have been unapologetic conservatives at every point in their careers?

  • krutnewm

@mbecker908 – what does the “nt” or “n/t” stand for? I keep seeing it on posts here on red State?

  • Bill S

there is “No Text” in the body of the comment – the message is fully contained in the comment title. “NT” is required to keep the RS commenting system from throwing an error message about an empty comment field.
