EDITOR OF REDSTATE

On Jon Huntsman: See, I Told You So

My objection to Jon Huntsman remains simple: while serving at the pleasure of the President of the United States, he began plotting against the President of the United States. It matters not who the President is. It matters that the man was disloyal to his President while serving as his mouth piece to our biggest strategic adversary in the world.

Many people responded to my objection by saying, “he never campaigned or did anything to start campaigning while serving the President.” This statement is made in direct contravention to the public facts and record.

And now even the Los Angeles Times concedes that I was right.

Huntsman’s campaign, while he was still serving as ambassador, began lining up speaking gigs for him in key primary states. Huntsman says he had no connections to the people doing this on his behalf, but the facts show otherwise.

Did Jon Huntsman violate the Hatch Act, a federal law prohibiting political appointees from engaging in politics? It does not look good for Huntsman and you can bet that, should he be the nominee, the media will do to him with Hatch Act allegations what they’ve done for two years to Sarah Palin.

At least with Huntsman it will be deserved.

Every candidate has flaws, every candidate has dirt, plenty of candidates break laws. Huntsman is a fantastic candidate who knows the most about China by far which is very important. He’s very pro-life, and he knows so much about economics. He’s handsome, will do great in debates. Honestly, he’s one of the few candidates who can beat Obama aside from maybe Romney the robotic RINO.

Conservatives need to remember that if we want to beat most most liberal president in history we need to pick a candidate who’s electable. I would love a super strong tea party conservative like Michelle to get the nomination, but the media would eat her alive, not to mention she’s gaffe prone and probably can’t beat Obama in a debate.

We need to defend our candidates, and spend our energy attacking the President and his far far left administration.

isn’t that one of the gripes about Obamanuer.
And if he would undermine his boss, how much better would he treat you.
You just don’t get it, do you.

and I’m wondering if you actually mean Obamanure, or if there is another meaning I’m not catching with Obamanuer. Just curious.

Huntsman is the Republican strawman for Obama.
Why do you think Obama said a month ago that he most fear Huntsman?
The Huntsman candidacy is probably manufactured by the one.

So you think he got the cash from daddy or from Obummer?

    A Republican Praising Obama? Here?s Hand-Written Proof

    http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/04/15/a-republican-praising-obama-heres-hand-written-proof/

In a handwritten letter to President Obama obtained by The Daily Caller, Jon M. Huntsman Jr., the former governor of Utah, calls the president a ?remarkable leader? ? and underlines ?remarkable? for emphasis.

The letter was written two years ago, just after Mr. Obama selected Mr. Huntsman as his ambassador to China.

?I am most grateful for the graciousness and kindness you have shown me and my family ? particularly your confidence in my ability to represent you in China,? Mr. Huntsman writes. ?Mary Kaye and I will begin our journey tomorrow ? leaving behind a state we love ? but also anticipating an extraordinary experience in Beijing. You are a remarkable leader ? and it has been a great honor getting to know you.?

?Need any more proof that the White House most fears Jon Huntsman?? the strategist asked. ?I don?t think so.?

    Oh, brother….

Thanks for the correction, I’ll change it.
Obamanure. The man and the crap he spews.

John McCulla was filling in for Frank Beckman on Friday I think and he used it on his show.
I think it aptly applies. ;)

Say his name again in 18 months and you’ll get the same response.

I detest Huntsman, but Juan Antonio Samaranch called the Atlanta Olympics “most exceptional”, instead of his traditional”best Olympics ever”, and we took it as an insult here. I think Huntsman blew the smoke just about right in this case.

All except that part about the media doing to Huntsman what they have done to Palin. That just isn’t possible. The media has expended so much energy and vitriol on bashing Palin that no matter what they do to Huntsman it would pale in comparison.

Also, I think we need to stick to the loyalty angle on this. Its just not morally right. Forget about the legality of it – that is a nonstarter.

  • jiminga

to look for another job while still employed….don’t we all do it? It doesn’t imply a lack of loyalty as long as you’re still performing while looking.

Second, John who? Huntsman is an unknown non-starter and is really looking for the VP nomination.

  • acrucesalus

candidacy. Apparently, when and if he announces it will be in New Jersey, and yet he is from Utah? What gives with that? It is a mystery to me why he did not speak at the RLC (along with no show Romney), has not even declared, and yet is being given all kinds of attention and a spot in the polls. He reminds me somewhat of John Edwards – a little smarmy lookin’

  • blarman

Let’s use our time doing something useful rather than worrying about a _potential_ candidate. Erick obviously has an axe to grind against Huntsman. I’d rather focus my efforts on looking at ACTUAL candidates. Until Huntsman joins the fray, what’s the point?

One point I guess I would make is this: for someone who decries the liberal bias of newspapers, why would he take verbatim a report in the LA Times? Simply to jump at something that supports his view? If Huntsman is guilty of violating some law, bring him up on charges and have the whole thing out in court. Good grief!

  • funwithknives

The Gent from Utah is gettin’ Media attention as he is a Proven Fence Straddler. Moderation in conservatism has had it’s day (8 years l o n g ) and comes up lacking, in success and support. If Media in general extols him as a “Problem Solver”, or “Bi Partisan”, those are your signals and then just ignore him. Weak knees and moderation ain’t gonna do it, or did Dole,GHWB and McCain teach the GOP Nothing? Any body see Perry on Sat, at The SRLC, in NAWLINS? Remember PATTON’s Louisiana (Troops) speech?(Begins the movie) I’d LIKE ME Some-More-A THAT! JOHN-WHO?

  • gunslingr45

    thumbs up on this!
I am glad you pointed out Erick it was Jon and not Dick Lugar. Both cut from the same cloth in the Obumber butt kissing award.

So many RINO?s so little time!
