Mark Amodei Comes Out Swinging

Mark Amodei is the Republican pick for the special election in Nevada 2 to replace now Senator Heller. I suspect we’re going to hear a lot of Republicans sounding a similar theme. It’s just that Amodei’s first commercial is extremely timely.

Work your magic with crossroads. This will be an ugly vilianizing expensive race. We need to never underestimate republican’s abilities to loose special elcetions and just not show up to the polls. We need to remember this time to explain Medicare reform. Also if Marshall isn’t doing her job but instead is campaigning and taking a state pay check hit her with that as well.

Of course, the foreigners who hold our government debt have no mortgage on the country, although many ignorant people seem to believe otherwise. If we default, they get . . . NOTHING but the paper they are holding. They have NO other recourse. Naturally, we’d never be able to borrow again at reasonable rates, but that’s a far cry from a Red flag over the Capitol.

And his last line is just dumb: “I’ll never vote to increase Obama’s debt limit . . .” Never is a long, long, time. What if the Democrats agreed to the Cut, Cap, & Balance plan? Amodei has pledged to vote against it!

More likely some shorter-term compromise plan would be the deal, but he’s already pledged to vote NO – without ever having seen the details. That’s not the sort of thoughtful person we need in Congress. He’s just playing to the fears of the electorate in a cynical ploy for political gain.

At least I hope that’s what he’s doing, because if he actually believes all that, he’s a moron.
