Jim DeMint Brings His A Game To the Debt Vote

Finally. Conservatives are starting to fire up on the Cut, Cap, and Balance pledge and are deciding they must hold people accountable.

Senator Jim DeMint appears to be one of them. He tells ABC News that “It would be the most toxic vote” for Republicans.

Now, he’s not saying necessarily that he is going to challenge them, but there are growing hints that he might. I, for one, hope he will.

He said he will not support any candidate for Congress — incumbent or challenger — who does not sign a pledge promising not to vote for a debt limit increase without first passing a balanced budget amendment, making deep spending cuts and putting strict limits on future government spending. The same rule applies to presidential candidates.

“I don’t have many litmus tests, but this is one: Any candidate who doesn’t understand that we need to balance the budget should not be president of the United States,” DeMint said. “So, I’m looking for candidates to sign the pledge.”

Now, the question is whether DeMint will actually choose to primary Republicans who raise the debt ceiling without extracting serious concessions to include passage of a Balanced Budget Amendment. If this really is the gravest situation the country faces, then that should happen.

…for those Republicans who vote to raise the debt limit “not only are those individuals gone, but I would suspect the Republican Party would be set back many years.”

That’s forward-looking thinking, and very insightful. As is usually the case with the good Senator.

Recal that Dem’s ran anti-TARP ads against the Republicans who voted for it. Don’t think for a second that Dem challengers going after GOP incumbents in 2012 won’t run ads hitting those Republicans for voting to raise the debt ceiling,

The building momentum for “Cut, Cap, and Balance” is impressive. We all need to keep it up.

The $64,000 question: does Boehner have the spine to push it? To not blink? To not buckle?

Just like he showed a stunning lack of leadership in letting the HOUSE pass the bill to mandate that UNIONS only get federal construction contracts! 27 republicans voted to do this.

Today’s Congress is about as honest and conservative as Nancy Pelosi.

Sadly, that seem hard to argue with.

The debt ceiling gets raised when the Executive Branch stops spending money out the back door through regulations and wars and these stupid “study” programs.

Boehner should call for Obama’s impeachment. Reason: He is usurping the Constitution. He did not consult Congress about the War Powers Act. So…the Congress funded it anyway because we have to make nice with the rest of the world. Obama tapped the SPR…not because of OUR SECURITY…BUT THAT OF EUROPE AND BECAUSE OF LIBYA. The flooding in the Midwest was not just because of Spring rains or heavy snow fall. The US Corps of Engineers has been trying to get the Missouri back to its original path so save ENDANGERED SPECIES. In addition, when all the farmlands were flooded…GUESS WHO had the land grab…YEP…THE US ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS ALONG WITH GEORGE SOROS under the names of Ospraie and Gavilon. Hope you like begging for FOOD. Check out the American Thinker for more info.

Boehner was charged with carrying out the wishes of those that were elected in a landslide. He has not. TIME TO GET SOMEONE IN THEIR WITH GUTS and SOMEONE THAT PUTS THE USA FIRST…NOT CAPITULATES TO OBAMA.

With the government debt so great is a balanced budget even possible?

Yeah, I know what you mean . . . but you also know what I mean.

The Federal Budget is just as balanced as the main stream media.

Publius Huldah shows how the BBA is a trap and a hoax. The BBA destroys the separation of powers by transferring all powers to the executive branch. Read her latest paper here.
