EDITOR OF REDSTATE

The Third World Oscar Mayer Wiener

It looked to me to be some sort of joke they intended to play on the producers. On yesterday’s Morning Joe, Time magazine’s Mark Halperin, asked his take on Barack Obama’s Wednesday press conference, said the President came off like a “dick.” That’s his word, not mine.

He said they might need a delay. The production crew may have been asleep at the switch. They did not delay it. It got out there on live television. Halperin apologized. MSNBC suspended him “indefinitely.” He said what a growing number of Republicans, Democrats, and people in the media think.

It’s a problem for Barack Obama.

But another problem is shaping up on the floor of the United States Senate. Marco Rubio, who is rapidly becoming one of the most impassioned champions for opposing the debt ceiling increase, said that Barack Obama’s class warfare soliloquy was not the rhetoric of the President of the United States, but of a third world leader.

In fact, you could hear a Hugo Chavez or a Fidel Castro or a Robert Mugabe or a Lula da Silva say the same thing. And to be honest, I think this is a message that will resonate with independent voters, a growing number of whom do see Barack Obama as a jerk who tries to reward his friends, punish his enemies, and have the government pick the winners and losers.

Couple that with the President rejecting an invitation to meet with Republicans on Capitol Hill to discuss the debt, while pounding his chest that Congress stay in Washington while he goes out on the campaign trail and he leaves voters with a real disconnect.

If the economy suddenly improves, Barack Obama will win re-election. But thanks to his failed policies that he intends to perpetuate, the economy will not improve. And come 2012 a ham sandwich would beat Barack Obama. Worse for him, a Republican will beat him.

Would it require plain wheat or rye or sourdough bread.

    Toasted or not.

    Mayo, mustard, both?

Hold the lettuce and if not what type…

Actual, it is often said that my German Shepard could beat Obama in 2012 barring some miracle like the econ suddenly overcoming all the new regs being issued daily from this clownish Admin and jobs appearing from the Fairy Czar or.. VP Joe becoming an adult.. adding 30 pts to his political IQ.. and turning states evidence on the fraud and corruption…

  • dudette

to Chavez and a few other pariahs is brilliant. I hope people start doing this on a regular basis and using quotes (short quotes) to illustrate that. That would stick like fly to flypaper.

  • ag8tor

BUN. He is such a pathetic hotdog that even Oscar Meyer doesn’t want him. How ever, we cannot let up on getting the word out. Americans have proved time and again that they have short memories. They are also very lazy when it comes to actually finding out what these politicians stand for and not voting for them based on what they are promising or the color of their skin. It is no surprise that this shameless Marxist would only speak about class envy. He can relate to the jet set with the exception of his not having to pay for the use of OUR corporate jet.. He has to keep up the class warfare rhetoric so he want have to admit that he has no clue nor plan about the economy!

  • wennejunk

By the end of 2012, the mess will probably have reached critical mass and whoever is voted in will not be able to resurrect the body of this nation without the kinds of drastic actions that are driving the Greeks to riot.

We have a massive underclass that will not take lightly to any cuts especially after being whipped up by their leaders.

  • rattlerjake

‘Obuthead’ is a “dick”. What’s sad is how these journalists, like politicians and actors, immediately apologize for saying what they mean, and the rest of us know. If you didn’t mean it, then why would you think it much less say it! ‘Obuthead’ is a “Dick”!!! Besides that, it is embarrassing to watch him walk out to press conferences like he is be-bopping onto the basketball court. This man has no class.
We have an individual that has been put into office that not only has no background in this type of work but now has shown he CAN’T do the job. Additionally, he was allowed to become a candidate for office without proving he was eligible by birth, although McCain did, and even now that he is in office and his proof has been proven to be fraudulent, we are still dragging-ass and letting him stay in office and continue to tank this country. Why does it take so long for an investigation into this type of wrong doing? Is is because they’re (the government, politicians, and the people) are worried about what other people in the world will think? Too Late!, they all already know, not think, that we have lost our minds. “Obuthead” belongs in jail, as a minimum..

  • edintexas

I sincerely hope that you will be proven mistaken. But I’m not working on the supposition that you are wrong, for I fear you are more correct than not.

Watching their champion fail in so many ways, and dragging the economy down with him. Captain Zero is a miserable failure by any reasonable standard.

You said: “If the economy suddenly improves, Barack Obama will win re-election. ” I dont think that is the case; a lot of people have seen with their own eyes what this guy is about. While Americans are a forgiving and compassionate people, but they dont like wanna-be aristocrats and liars. Captain Zero is a narcissist and pathological liar.

The conservative wing of the Republican Party needs people like Rubio to constantly make the distinction between themselves and the class warfare idiots. he and his MSM clowns are going down, and it aint gonna be pretty.

Have faith; stop with that pre-determined win nonsense.

  • tritonspolartiger

Listening to Lord Zero repeatedly circle back to that one phrase, as he clumsily sought to demonize yet another subset of Americans, I couldn’t help but wonder if this, finally, is THE stupid statement that will come to define this mental midget as the dangerous faux poser he so manifestly demonstrates himself to be.

As the wheels continue releasing themselves from his little red wagon, how irrational and how dangerous (to all of us) will he become?

  • tritonspolartiger

in his embarrassingly obvious attempt to somehow equate congressional republicans with procrastinating elementary school students?

There are just so many “jump the shark” moments with this buffoon.

I suspect that it won’t take too much more in the way of this sort of classless hectoring behavior to cost him the support of significant numbers of independents.

Behaving like a Penisaurus Erectus is so incredibly off-putting when it’s someone in his position of authority doing it.

  • jonrd364

I find this the most brazenly hypocritical AND ironic phrase to come from Dear Leader’s lips, considering he’s probably the most jet-setting president ever, with the most expensive “corporate jet” on the planet.

  • hidlins

    Great comment…

“If the economy suddenly improves, Barack Obama will win re-election.” That would be a travesty beyond imagination. The only thing worse would be if we were to re-elect Jimmy Carter to replace him although I’m not sure how much worse it could be.

We must do EVERYTHING within our power to inoculate the electorate against the illusion that Obama’s nostrums actually had anything to do with any improvement in the economy. And it should be noted that improvements in equity prices does not, in and of itself, mean an improvement in the economy.

In fact, I defy ANYONE to name the program or policy put into place by this administration that has had a meaningfully positive effect on the U.S. Economy and to demonstrate, empirically, how that policy either lowered barriers to the creation of NEW jobs or saving existing ones.

And, Please, Spare me the drivel about ‘Saving the U.S. Auto Industry from extinction”. His actions neither saved jobs or created new ones. What that did was destroy or diminish faith in our existing system of managing debt and enforcing contracts because it stripped debtors of their rights by transferring those assets to the very people who bear at least some responsibility for the problem.

The comparison to his two daughters, who I hope aren’t as stupid & childish as he is, is an insight into a grossly hostile & vulgar mind. He displays the venom cultivated over 20 years in Rev. Wright’s church of slander. The netroots in their derangement loved it, surely many in the media as well, after all there’s not much of a difference there.
The Congressional Dems see an unforced error coupled with O’s view of the Presidency as an extended holiday for him and his grotesque wife. Only for that reason do some of the less rabid ones start to wonder about this utter fool.

break was no needed. He knew Boehner already said that there
would be no vacations. Berry isn’t giong to make any out of session
appointments this time. He’s just trying to make his followers
think he has some kind of power over the congress.

then why not use the sucker to it’s fullest? Friends of Cain have made a powerful visual example of absorbing ,then using Progressive blunders against them. WHEN is The Nat’l GOP going to realize they CAN BE Street Fighters, simply be following OCCAM’S RAZOR: “The best solution is the simplest”. If CAIN’S Campaign does nothing else, at least give his followers Credit, for CHUTZPAH and foresight. Each and every statement Barry and his ZAMPOLITS (LOOK UP THAT ONE, why don’t-cha) utter should be viewed as a PLUS in the fight for his, and their, removal. I am not suggesting “Just Lay Back and Edit” but this is a powerful tool ,and curiously is not used to any great degree, on a National Basis. “IF you Always do ,what you Always did, you’ll Always get, what you Always GOT” This is a battle and losing is Not an Option, now is it? Is the GOP a Solution or a Problem? Time’s A-Wastin’ Reince, you got your EARS ON?

    Our Legacy?

As our 4th of July anniversary event approaches, and considering the deeper meaning of the holiday other than parades, picnics and fireworks, I have arrived at the inescapable conclusion that modern age Americans are not smarter then our ancestors. We only have more neat toys to play with which has, in fact, distracted us from what should have been our true business, protecting the gift of independence, freedom and liberty that our ancestors left us.

We have proven to be woefully poor guardians of that wonderful legacy and because we haven?t done our job, we are about to be absorbed by the odious multi-cultural, politically correct theories of socialized communal living and central government planning that Obama (peace be upon him) wants us to become. We are being turned into ants in an anthill.

Now that I have expressed my dire concern about the direction we are taking, I still have not given up hope it can be stopped. The question becomes: How do we wash our hands and purge our recent history of the shame the Liberals have brought upon our once great country? It is incredible that we have allowed the political legacy left to us to be so easily washed away by the enemies of free enterprise, self-determination and individual freedom. I saw my Dad, other friends and relatives engage in a costly terrible conflict to protect America (WWII). Only America could do what was done then and survive to grow and achieve even greater prosperity.

Our advances in science and technology, albeit, assisted with technology captured from the Germans and Japanese, lead us to the Moon. It gave us modern inexpensive transportation. Our free enterprise system allowed ineffective systems, like passenger rail, to go by the way side. Our system of higher education produced high quality scientists in mathematics, physics, hydraulics and any other number of professions. America became the worlds food basket and good employment was available even for itinerate farm workers. Where is all that now?

Then, the wealth generated clouded our eyes. With hard work a man could make a great living and support a family, enjoy the good life and provide for the future of his children and retirement. The products America made were sold all over the world. It was prosperity for nearly all. Then, the government got the idea that with all its wealth, it could easily help support the non workers who, for what ever reason, produced little or nothing. The elderly could also be provided for if they had failed to provide for themselves and slowly entitlements became an open door to rapacious self-interest groups all clawing at the money bags in some insane belief they were entitled to it as well. Liberals saw that supporting this thought process could keep them in power, and we did nothing. ?It? can?t happen here?, we thought, even as we saw England morph into a socialist state doing exactly the same things.

And then the worst thing happen, We elected Obama (peace be upon him) even after he told us what he was going to do. We elected a person with no background. We elected a Marxist whose legitimacy as an American citizen is still uncertain. We elected a media personality who has no business experience, no management experience and no common sense. Our Chief Office Holder is a first rate example of a third rate manager. He presumes to scold the Congress when in fact, nobody listens to him or if they do, can immediately slap down his comments as the lies and prevarications they truly are. He whines, as a child would, to his betters. He blames everybody but himself, and yet, he is still successfully destroying our great country. His new campaign slogan should be: ?It?s change you can step in?. Remember, Freedom is the goal, the Constitution is the way. Go get ?em!

I just read Karl Rove’s piece published yesterday in the WSJ [http://rove.com/articles/324].

Whether you like or dislike Karl, Agree or disagree with him, he raises some valid points in this piece. I encourage all to read what he has to say about what will be required and what must be avoided in order to defeat Obama in 2012.

  • Tbone

Inept and misguided but he was on our side.

Obama is an America hating racist.

  • rightwingmom52

The GOP absolutely must do a better job of messaging. It is imperative that we win, but we have to do so based on having the right policies and correct solutions, not just because Obama is wrong and inept.

  • sarg01

    … but I wouldn’t say it’s imperative.

It’s imperative that we win, period. If we can’t beat inept Obama in this economy, when can we ever win again? At that point, we’re one Supreme Court justice and a single bad election away from being Greece.

  • rightwingmom52

Okay, maybe I should have said “…we should do so…” I agree it is absolutely imperative that we win, period. My point is that I don’t want to win just based on popularity or because Obama is wrong. I want the GOP to convince the hearts and minds of voters that our policies and solutions are right for individuals and right for the country so that we win many, many elections for years to come.

  • sarg01

A President Bachmann/Perry/Cain/Romney and honestly even a Huntsman would mean they can’t get the Supremes for at least 4 years, while improving our chances of getting the court center one vote to the right of Kennedy.

I’d like to win it now, too, but independents don’t care about solutions – they only say they do. They care about spin and what happened yesterday. You have to have results, not theories – no matter how sound the theories are, independents just don’t pay attention. This is a game where you can’t score on defense.

The numbers are hugely favorable to us for Senate in both 2012 and 2014 – we pretty much can’t lose ground in either one.

A recovery that continues under a Republican administration puts us in a position to win everything in 2016 and cripple progressivism for 25 years, just like with Reagan. That’s the war, right there.

If we don’t get Obama out, that won’t happen. With a Rep Congress, the Supremes tossing Obamacare, and more distance from 2008, business confidence will come back … at least until we Greecify – but that’s more than a decade away. The economy will recover.

Obama and the media will make him into Clinton without the sex scandal. This leads to Hillary winning in 2016 – if we can’t beat an openly leftist class-warfare campaign now, we can’t beat a sneaky “moderate” one after a recovery.

  • rightwingmom52

Just seems to me that later never comes. The GOP pattern is that we win elections and then turn squishy and stop talking about conservative policies and solutions and have to start all over again. If we force the GOP to run on conservatism, we have a better chance of holding the line once elected. Plus our chances of convincing folks that liberalism is bad is better than ever because so many more people are paying attention. We just have to get our message across.

  • YnotNOW

Which allows you to follow through on enacting those ideas (and yes, helps you avoid waffling on your commitments).

But I also would take any defeat of Obama (and Harry Reid) as good, even if we did not obtain the “mandate” that we desire. The Supreme Court alone would make it worthwhile.

  • YnotNOW

based upon Jimmy’s foreign policy, which had as much appeasement of adversaries and abandonment of allies, as the current foreign policy. In fact, I think O’s policies are trying to emulate Jimmy…

  • romeg

More recent comments by Jimmy regarding the quality of medical care in Cuba and his support Hezbollah, Hamas and other anti-Israel groups don’t strike me as particularly patriotic, however, and may cause some to question even that assertion. But, up until the Obama took office, he was easily the worst full term president to ever hold the office.

Obama, despite his assertions of affection for the country, has demonstrated on numerous occasions, both before and since his ascension to the Oval Office that his affection for the Country and its hallowed institutions is far more suspect.

But Obama, no thanks to any thing on his own part, has been more effective in the only area where he can claim ANY success: Afghanistan and the neutralization of UBL and his eventual approval of the 30,000 plus ‘Surge’ that has been effective in diminishing the Taliban and Al Qeada.

Carter was inept and incapable of mounting any kind Special Ops action. His single contribution to our system of Free Markets was Deregulation: He got the ball rolling on that.

It’s a mixed bag with virtually no positives in it from either of these two for US. I want no part of either of them.

  • sarg01

The Tea Party is a wholly different animal than anything conservatives have seen before.

I’ve defended the congressional GOP leadership on here a fair amount on here because I think everyone keeps judging them on their pre-2010 history. They’ve acted totally different since – and really even since late ’09.

Republicans have not held all three branches in modern history. You have to go pre-Depression. Not even the Reagan Revolution managed that. It’s within our grasp now. It’s really hard to see us not having both houses of Congress in any situation in which Obama has 268 electoral votes or less.

We don’t need to convince the independents (who won’t listen to talk anyhow) … we can *show* them what happens after winning the election. The boom of prosperity will rock the progressives even harder than the 1980s. With Europe collapsing, it might even kill the philosophy off for good.

  • sarg01

Republicans technically “held” the Supreme Court the entire GWB administration. This is by calling Souter, Stevens and Kennedy “Republicans”.

  • lizaz

the seats at his “campaign, fund-raising events”, paid for by the taxpayer, don’t forget. Soon he’ll have to pay people to sit in front of the camera, and his net will be much less! We will not tolerate his socialist programs, and he WILL be a one-term president as Michele says. I like bygeorge’s posting…he is spot on!!!

  • banzaibob

Speaker Pelosi was a big user of corporate jets as she flew back and forth from California to Dc and Other places. Also flying friends and family all at the taxpayers expense.

  • snowshooze

And then, yes, a ham sandwich could win, and the Republicans can win…. but there is a good chance of a split vote Repub/Indy…and solidarity behind Obama…or if Obama does not serve out, I am beginning to believe there is a greater chance he may not… Biden? Seriously…
I wonder for the sheer sake of fun… who would they run in an emergency situation?
Ya know what? I would be willing to bet that they are wondering too.
