The RedState Gathering 2011, Charleston, SC

Please find below the final agenda for the RedState Gathering. Please note that Governor Perry’s address has been moved back to 1:00 p.m. from 1:30 p.m.

We will have 397 registered attendees from just about every state in the union and a total of approximately 550 attendees present for Governor Rick Perry’s speech.

To conclude the RedState Gathering, we will have a special presentation of Stephen K. Bannon’s The Undefeated.

For those of you unfamiliar with the format of the RedState Gathering, all speakers pay their own way and make their own travel arrangements. In other words, if they are speaking, it is because they want to be there. We do not pay honoraria to speakers. This keeps the cost low to attendees and guarantees that those participating want to be there.

With the exception of each year’s keynote speaker, those who address the event are expected to also take questions from the registered attendees. Panel participants will likewise take questions.

This is our third RedState Gathering and it will be the largest crowd so far. At the end of the event, we will announce where next year’s Gathering will take place.

to make a sincere comment in wishing the gathering of all of you great Patriots of our Republic, that you will please bring out some great dialogue for which we can use in the upcoming elections that will bring our great Country back to it’s Founding Principles. RS has been and will always be one of the finest conservative sites on the web that will assure truth and honesty and educate all of us that our nation is one of God’s greatest gifts to mankind.

Although next year's destination is surely set in stone,

would like to put in a word for a west coast gathering in the future.

You know, in the interest of taking it to the sinners.

Forget the west coast; NV or AZ would be better!

In either state, we’d be able to muster a lot of new “Party insiders” to attend — all those grass roots conservatives who discovered that they can achieve great things in terms of changing the Party from within and in terms of helping to get out the vote in the primaries for Constitutional conservatives.

And, in AZ’s case, we’ve got constitutional carry.

Vegas would be good, too!

Thank you.

Will part/all of this event be streamed . if so who ? I heard some will be televised..if so…what entity ?

Erick, if I bring my copy of Red State Rising with me,

Melody Warbington (rwm52) (Diary) Wednesday, August 10th at 11:58PM EDT (link)

will you autograph it?

By the way, my mom is a little concerned about me traveling alone since I’ve never been to Charleston (and I’m 53). I told her I thought security would be pretty tight considering the guest list. LOL

Realized it the minute I hit post.

Bring it on.

Glad to sign it.

Who will stand on either hand and keep this bridge with me?

on AZ.

I know it’s hot in the southeast now, but in AZ, it’s a dry heat.

OTOH

You might want to be in California the year they let Texas, Florida, and Ohio decide who gets their Presidential electoral votes, since California just voted to throw their electors at whomever wins the popular vote.

I so wish I could be there.

Christine (Diary) Thursday, August 11th at 5:35AM EDT (link)

I had a great time last year and Charleston is SO close…but the timing just didn’t work out. Hopefully I can catch some of the televised/broadcast speeches. Here’s hoping I can make it next year!

The primary process is FLAWED. Two states should not decide our candidate.

Do you have to be registered to attend?

yoyo (Diary) Thursday, August 11th at 7:44AM EDT (link)

If so, oops! I live in the Lowcountry area (Moncks Corner) so I didn’t register, as I wasn’t staying in a downtown hotel.

Is that *bad*?

Red State pop-up Ad still pops up

CMaree (Diary) Thursday, August 11th at 8:09AM EDT (link)

to declare there are spots left to register for this year’s event. Is that correct?
Are there any hotel rooms left?
If not, could someone correct or remove the pop up? Thanks.

This is nothing but a money pit

None of these functions serve any purpose. If you want to help your country there are about 1 million better uses of your time and resources.

Could you elaborate and give details as to your post, joey72664

Got more than just a bomb to throw.

They say Republicans are for the rich, Democrats are for the poor.
If they need more voters,
then they have to make more of who they are for.

We are there in the various Tea Party groups, leaderless, but not rudderless.
We steer always toward the Constitutional principles this nation was founded upon.

Joey, understand your noted frustration, but these events are about networking, same as the local tea party gatherings.
This is very important to allow us to have impact in areas where we don’t live and share ideas that may work to further the cause in those areas.
For example, I’m interested in networking with those states who had members of the Senate and Congress involved with the over site of Fannie and Freddie Mac. Several of those people are out of state from me such as Maxine Waters (D) California, Gregory Meeks (D) NewYork, Lee Clay (D) Missouri and last but not certainly least Barney Frank (D) Massachusetts. I want to ensure that these areas put out the “facts” about these people and their incompetence that played a major role in leading to hundreds of billions of our tax payer money to bail out Fannie and Freddie.
So, I believe these gatherings are helpful and further the cause of all Patriots.

With Regards,

John Rush – MCPO/SS Retired

Cannot let this one go...

gracie (Diary) Thursday, August 11th at 2:47PM EDT (link)

I was quite amazed at the extent Erick went to to make this Gathering of Like Minds affordable. The fee is low! the discounts at the hotel very helpful. (We did stay at a good one; necessary for general safety and several women in my Tea Party felt very safe.)

Erick arranged for several “sponsors” to cover evening meals, as well as lunches and often drinks. I believe the Governor was the sponsor of the Fri Gathering where he made himself available to visit for Hours!

It was such a great opportunity to meet fellow members, to share ideas, learn about GOTV, to plan stradegies. It was a HUGE opportunity to hear new leaders…Governor Nikki Haley, Herman Cain and the man who has become one of my three favorite Senators in the Senate..Mike Lee! Erick was absolutely prescient in finding him in the private sector in Utah to run against Bennet. It has been a blast to watch him in action.

Of course we had it easy as we are from Texas. Only a back surgery is keeping us from coming to S. Carolina. All in all it was a bargain and besides, you cannot put a price on experiencing the contagious enthusiasm of some of the brightest conservatives in America!

I too would love to know about any televised events. Moe did a great job posting interviews but since THIS one is going to be SO big! we at home would love some real time news?!

Also look forward to members blogs during and recaps after it is over. :)

RS Gathering Attire

jjrush1962 Thursday, August 11th at 3:19PM EDT (link)

I am attending this weekends events and would like any comments concerning attire.

With the high heat here in Charleston I rarely wear a suit since retiring from the Navy. Would slacks and a polo shirt be adequate ?

I will be bringing my wife, any comments on female attire would be appreciated.

jjrush1962, advice I got about RSG03 attire -

Wish all you who are attending the best!

I’m jealous. A knee surgery and business high season are preventing me from attending. Nex year, for certain.

I look foward to the after-gathering stories. Cheers!

I almost signed up...

rowdydfw Thursday, August 11th at 6:45PM EDT (link)

since I have friends in South Carolina, but alas an attempt to expand our business is keeping me home. If you ever have it again in Texas or a surrounding state, I’ll be there for sure.

I am so jealous now that my Governor is announcing there to shout out and wish him the best. Please make sure someone puts up his speech quickly if it’s not televised. Thanks.

This will be like going to confession...

After lo these many months away doing sinful things.

It’s been literally a year I think since I’ve been able to do anything substantial in politics (new company, moved the family, kids, etc. etc. – I know, all not great excuses).

I think of this RS Gathering as I used to church retreats: an opportunity to get recharged and re-energized, and go back into the world to do things.

Look forward to seeing y’all.
