EDITOR OF REDSTATE

It’s 7pm. Guess What Hasn’t Happened?

I’d be on radio to talk about it, except I’m on child care duty with a sick wife.

But Palin has still not announced.

Tonight at midnight is the end of the fundraising quarter. If you’re reading this, you’re already online…so why not take a moment and give a few bucks to some great conservative candidates who ARE definitely running for office?

I’m think Erick would agree with my humble suggestion that you consider two people he has endorsed:

Adam Hasner, Florida Senate candidate (www.adamhasner.com)

Ted Cruz, Texas Senate candidate (www.tedcruz.org)

    - Sarah :)

High, welcome back to jepordy, where last weeks big winner,
Chet, has bet all his money on the daily double and lost.
Fear not though, there is still five hours left in the game, and Chet is not out of it yet.

We now start double jepordy, where the big money lies,
and we begin this round with Chet.

Chet, will you please pick the next catagory.

    Chet, will you…….

    Hey,
    Chet.

    Where ya going Chet.

    Chet, the games not over.

    Hey, come back here Chet.

    Cheeeeeeeet……….

?to promote conservative ideals within the vehicle of the Republican Party,
?to clean house in the Republican party,
    ?to help elect conservative Republicans,
?and to encourage and educate conservative Republican activists committed to the above.

The purpose of RedState.com is NOT to discourage people who want to see Palin run for President.

  • freentn

    as a 3rd Party Candidate.

  • swamphermit

More hatred and rage vented towards Sarah, that, of course, “never happens here.”

Expect the it “never happens here” here post that always follows…

  • rrpjr

One thing I find compelling about Palin is how she frightens so many and, as a result, draws out the sort of immature and quasi cult-like behavior we?re seeing here, in this case resembling the strenuously witless techniques of a Daily Kos or Gawker. As such, it?s a degrading to conservatives. It is also fairly inconceivable that such a childish game would be played on another candidate who tended toward dilatory decision-making. It is about Palin, and the deeper fears you must have of her. I have little familiarity with your work (I heard you were a CNN contributor, I think), but you seem to operate in the realm of political commentary with some success. Really, as a grown man, an adult person, a professional political writer, you can?t see the pointless puerility of this thread of alleged sarcasm, and the way it will redound badly on your image.

  • Darin_H

To relax a bit with my family tonight before I make anymore decisions. I’ll keep you updated through.

PS Send money so I can keep decidin.

  • dacisme

    That’s what didn’t happen!

  • Aaron Gardner

Seriously, you have no sense of proportion.

  • pantera

Enough with the Palin mocking. We get it already. You don’t like Sarah.

Let’s all hop aboard the moderate train. That always works well.
    Half speed ahead:destination,bottom of cliff.

  • azaeroprof

A diary at the end of the day. An actually funny, snarky bit by Moe is fine. These nippy little hourly “updates” make Erick and RS look silly and accomplish nothing but alienating the few Palin supporters who haven’t already been chased away. Again, if that’s the goal then fine. At least state it.

  • weyland

The purpose of Red State is — well — whatever Erick chooses it to be. Who are you to claim otherwise?

More to the point, the sooner we jettison Gov. Palin, the sooner we can disassociate ourselves from her toxic brand of shallow, self-promoting celebrity.

  • http://www.usdebateboard.com usdebateboard

    No?

  • kowalski

The purpose of Redstate is to be a forum. It’s a weblog. In keeping with its tradition as a weblog, I’ll say what a lot of people don’t want to say but think all the time:

I like Sarah Palin, honestly enough. I really do. But I don’t want her to run for President or Vice President again.

We need to dispense with the baggage and if you search your heart of hearts she’s much better doing what she’s doing right now. I’m sorry to have to tell her this — other people have tried, and they’re right too.

NO SARAH PALIN CANDIDACY. Don’t announce, don’t muddy the waters more, don’t do it. Please. Thank you. We love you, Sarah. But we’re not going to nominate you.

  • Aaron Gardner

Seriously, I understand that you don’t like the joke, whatever, but calling it hatred and rage is to make those words meaningless.

This is the behavior that gets you called out as an idiot sycophant.

Please tell me you aren’t really defending that.

  • azaeroprof

I never called it “hatred” and “rage”.

“Reply to this” is your friend. (Sorry, couldn’t resist :) )

  • weyland

…it’s no wonder that Palin supporters have developed a reputation as shrill fanboi’s. Aaron, you hit the nail on the head — these people need to grow a thicker skin, lest they end up in the same reject-bin as the Paultards.

  • Aaron Gardner

I never said you called it “hatred” and “rage”, I asked if you were defending the comment that did as your comment to me implied.

  • weyland

    …it makes one sentient.

  • Vox_Mutus

    That’s what I always thought it was…

    Erick’s anti-Palin B(D)S is quite unbecoming.

Erick, if you do read this, please just stop talking about Palin. This whole schtick is really coming off as petty and small.

If she runs, she runs. If she doesn’t, she doesn’t. Let. It. Go. Man.

  • Vox_Mutus

Is there such a thing as “anti-Palin” fanboi’s?

If so, weyland, Aaron, and Erick are shoo-ins.

If anyone is shrill when it comes to Palin, it is the “anti’s”.

  • Vox_Mutus

    Hardly.

the more of your comments I read, the more it seems like you belong at DKos.

  • gekster

    holding politicians to thier word.
We expect all politicians to back up what they say.

Like the ones who run on a conservative platform to get elected, and then change once they get to DC. (McLooser, anyone)

Sarah has said that she would announce by the end of September (today) if she will or won’t run. As of yet she has not.

As Jimi Hendrex said in All Along The Watchtower, “The hours getting late”.

  • Aaron Gardner

    blah

  • JSobieski

Sites are free to do what they want, but if the goals are still the goals…

  • rrpjr

No mockery involved. I’m saying the game being played here is childish and stupid and beneath conservatism, and a grown man and professional political writer ought to see it. But because he evidently cannot, there must be reasons for the game — perhaps deeper ones than pique over the question of whether Sarah Palin announces today, tomorrow, next week, or whenever.

  • azaeroprof

I don’t defend that. It’s childish and nippy, but not hatred or rage.

Sorry, I was confused by your comment that “that is the behavior that gets you called out as an idiot sycophant”. [emphasis mine] I trust that you weren’t calling me that.
