In the second part of my interview with Governor Rick Perry, I asked him about the Super Committee. He tied its existence into the failure of Barack Obama’s leadership. His answer transitioned us into a discussion about energy policy and the ability to create jobs in the United States based on accessing our domestic energy.

OK my friends
miconservative Tuesday, November 8th at 1:05PM EDT (link)It’s time to put our money and our effort where our mouth is. Rick Perry gets it! Won’t be any need for Super Committees with President Perry and a Republican Congress. We can achieve the conservative reform we want only if we nominate and elect Rick Perry. Time to get off the sidelines and get to work. Romney puts forward the “Perry is soft on immigration” lie to cover up his own terribly liberal record and disguise the fact that Perry is FAR MORE CONSERVATIVE than Romney on everything. And Perry has the record to back it all up.
Erick you have said you won’t endorse and I don’t understand why. There is no other candidate in the race with the conservative platform and a conservative record to back it up in this race. You have endorsed Rubio against Crist (Romney is the Crist of this Race) and you have endorsed others when there was a clear seperation in beliefs from the conservative candidate to the not-so-conservative candidate. The fate of our nation and our movement is at stake as you said previously. You are not a summer soldier or sunshine patriot and now is not the time to shrink from the service to our country.
Let’s get in this game big time and win it!
Newsmakers: Rick Perry ABC Interview Today
bzip Tuesday, November 8th at 1:44PM EDT (link)Perry is the proven true and tested conservative with over 10 years of governing experience. Don’t you think we ought to rally behind him.
Impressive.
Wes_W Tuesday, November 8th at 2:40PM EDT (link)Her questions had a liberal spin to them , and he crushed them. He showed a lot of restraint by not getting sucked into the trap.
Very Impressive Perry Interview, as usual
bzip Tuesday, November 8th at 3:17PM EDT (link)Yes, Perry was very impressive and was impressive in Erick’s interview.
It was very nice the way he stayed on message no matter how much the interviewer tried to get him off message,
Yes I do, and I feel that was Erik's main
center77 (Diary) Tuesday, November 8th at 5:30PM EDT (link)Goal with what he said earlier today, he mentioned how conservatives have condemned him for a in-state issue that is much distorted, and there is a time to rally behind someone, and now is it. Trust me, if Newt was at all electable, he would have been chosen by the Republican establishment, because he has been one of its members for 25 or more years.
I am not wanting to be this way, but conservatives have a choice, Romney or Perry. At the end of the day, that’s it.
My name is Timothy Bladel. I’m from Davenport, Iowa. I am a Undergraduate, Double Majoring in Journalism & Mass communication, with my other major being political science. “We the people” tell the government what to do, it doesn’t tell us. We the people are the driver, the government is the car. And we decide where it should go, and by what route, and how fast.” Ronald Reagan’s farewell address (January 11, 1989)
A major problem with this flat tax
davidengageamerica Tuesday, November 8th at 2:07PM EDT (link)A major problem with this flat tax is that it doesn’t actually simplify the system. Because it is optional taxpayers will have to figure out which system taxes them less so they will still have to spend as much time, if not more, complying with the tax code. http://eng.am/sNjdNK
Instead of radically overhauling the tax system, why not try and achieve the grand bargain based on the Simpson-Bowles committee’s suggestions that had been but forth during the debt ceiling debate? http://eng.am/usFAFs
The Simpson-Bowles committee found that by eliminating tax expenditures and lowering marginal tax rates Congress would be able to simplify the tax code, improve fairness, and spur economic growth. http://eng.am/noTDPF
Would you rather wait for Republicans to budge on higher taxes or achieve the grand bargain revenue-neutral tax reform right now?
I don't hold out any hope that the tax system will be changed
izoneguy (Diary) Tuesday, November 8th at 2:18PM EDT (link)By anyone. By any President. By any Congress.
The Republicans need to lower taxes and make the rates permanent (or as permanent as anything can be made permanent in Washington DC).
Spending cuts, reform of entitlements has to be done while we can control it.
Once the system gets out of control (Greece) it will be too late to control your fate.
Those who had once simpered: “I don’t want to destroy the rich, I only want to seize a little of their surplus to help the poor, just a little, they’ll never miss it!” – then, later, had snapped: “The tycoons can stand being squeezed; they’ve amassed enough to last them for three generations” – then, later, had yelled: “Why should the people suffer while businessmen have reserves to last a year?” – now were screaming: “Why should we starve while some people have reserves to last a week?” – Atlas Shrugged
I completely agree that whatever is done needs to be permanent.
davidengageamerica Monday, November 14th at 11:49AM EDT (link)(“or as permanent as anything can be made permanent in Washington DC”)
As we have seen with past temporary tax cuts, like the last payroll tax cut, is that they don’t change people’s financial behavior. http://eng.am/sLABvh
And in regard to the tax we don’t need to change it, we just need to simplify it. Eliminating tax breaks and lowering tax rates permanently is all the simplification that we need.
Add spending cuts and a credible plan to manage/reduce our debt without strangling the economy and Americans will soon be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
The duel tax system is a strategy, not an end
Kyle-MI (Diary) Tuesday, November 8th at 3:11PM EDT (link)What should happen is that, for the vast majority of people, the flax tax will be lower and easier. Then at some near future point, it will be easier to just dump the old system because only a small minority are using it, leaving just the flat tax.
exactly
WA_Cowboy (Diary) Tuesday, November 8th at 3:20PM EDT (link)once the flat tax gets implemented — even if only as an option, I would imagine that all new tax filers would be required to do the flat tax, and eventually everyone who stays in the current system will either switch over or…not to be morbid…die. So the flat tax would soon become the only system
“If you put the Federal Government in charge of the Sahara Desert, in five years there’d be a shortage of sand.” – Milton Friedman
Pure Speculation
davidengageamerica Monday, November 14th at 11:57AM EDT (link)There is nothing in any of the press releases that says new tax filers would be required to use Perry’s flat tax.
Also, there is no indication from Perry’s team that he plans to completely eliminate the current tax system at any point.
Pure Speculation
WA_Cowboy (Diary) Monday, November 14th at 5:01PM EDT (link)There is nothing in any of the press releases that says new tax filers would be allowed to use the current system.
Also, there has been no indication that he doesn’t plan to completely eliminate the current system.
However, a logical deduction would be that if one is going to introduce a new way to pay taxes, that that person would see it eventually overtaking the old system. othwerwise, why bother?
“If you put the Federal Government in charge of the Sahara Desert, in five years there’d be a shortage of sand.” – Milton Friedman
No need to require new tax payers to use flat tax
Kyle-MI (Diary) Tuesday, November 15th at 10:48PM EDT (link)It should be fairly simple to set up the flat tax to be lower than the current system for the majority of filers, old and new. You probably cannot get 100% but a strong majority should be attainable. Down the road, once a majority are using the flat tax it will be a lot easier to eliminate the old system by arguing efficiency.
Why not change everyone over immediately? Because the old system has a lot of vested interests who will fight tooth and nail and the majority of tax payers will not have as much interest in switching to the flat tax. By making it initially voluntary the vested interests can’t complain, but you will have people who are now hooked on the flat tax. It is a strategy of divide and conquer with a good dose of getting your foot in the door.
I agree...
nathanalbright (Diary) Tuesday, November 15th at 10:56PM EDT (link)…that is a smart idea. As people get used to straightforward and easy taxes, the need for the massive and inefficient IRS vanishes into the sunset. God willing, future generations won’t know what all of our alphanumeric soup tax forms are.
The long look at it
cldonley Wednesday, November 9th at 11:46AM EDT (link)tells us that people will opt for the cheaper plan for them. I imagine that there will shortly no need for the old system, hence simplification, and the beauty of it is that the simplification will be by the choice of the taxpayer.
Hope for a new and simpler, flat tax system is slim. But it still alive!
Imagine a campaign with no one talking about taxes…

He has a very good chance now, and his poll numbers are at about the same level as they were in July. So, he actually has gained cash, and lost nothing in the polls since he decided to run.

Does anybody have a website/contact info for the TX A&M SuperPac?
circlegranch Wednesday, November 9th at 6:43AM EDT (link)if you can share it here, thanks.
Mike Allen of Politico was just on Morning Joe and he said Perry needs to be ‘lucid on Dodd-Frank’ for tonight’s debate. I’m betting he’ll be ‘lucid’ on everything that comes his way. If the other candidates would all worry about their own shortcomings, missteps, failures and walk-back’s and stop trying to deflect from themselves and paint the other guy as unfit, it’ll be a good debate. Since Newt and Herman have now agreed that a kinder, gentler debate format is the way to go, we’ll count on them to monitor the tone.

CarolT (Diary) Wednesday, November 9th at 12:56AM EDT (link)Rick Perry does great on interviews and with liberal tool on FNS host. I can’t believe he pulled race card when he had Herman Cain on and asked about rock. I will not watch that show again,I did watch that Sunday am show because if was on four times a day if I wanted to catch it.
I do not see an alternative to Mitt except Rick Perry. I read comments about Newt, I am a woman and I do not care, I want Obama out of office on 1/20/2013. I may be banned for saying this but I hope, if he is on way out, that he gets reception that Bush/Cheney got on thier way out, liberals booing, etc.
I don't get it
seth90212 Wednesday, November 9th at 2:52AM EDT (link)With over 350,000 abandoned oil and gas wells in Texas, why is Perry talking about freeing up federal lands and waters for exploration? Does he even understand the oil industry? Does he understand how much it costs to explore and to 3-D seismic evaluations and so on? He thinks if he opens up Yellowstone for oil exploration that companies are going to rush in? Why would they, when they can produce oil in Nigeria or Libya at a fraction of the cost?
The point is, all those abandoned wells in Texas do not need onerous environmental permits. They don’t need to be explored for potential. They just need to be reclaimed. Why doesn’t Perry test out his Energy Jobs Plan in his own state? Well, because he can’t tell oil companies what to do in Texas and he certainly wouldn’t be able to tell them what to do as president.
If Perry didn’t have a legit plan for the country, he should’ve stayed out of this cycle and maybe tried in 8 years. In fact as I said on another thread, greater U.S. domestic production and an emphasis on real energy independence will drive down oil prices, which in turn will kill the very oil jobs he claims to be promoting.
Adandoned Oil and Gas Wells in TX?
greyeagle Wednesday, November 9th at 9:33PM EDT (link)Some of those wells mentioned are not productive. Perry has tested out his plan in TX, but Obama has cut approvals for a lot of wells in the gulf. His idea is to get people working as quickly as possible. There are proven sites in the various places he mentioned to drill. However, Obama has blocked all drilling. Perry will not try to tell oil and gas companies what to do, but he will make it easier for them to succeed. Perry does understand the energy business very well since TX is a big energy state and he has been involved in this aspect for about 20 years. Obama has tried to destroy TX and their energy businesses. Perry would be a different kind of President.
Correction Required...
rsklaroff (Diary) Wednesday, November 9th at 5:40AM EDT (link)…because of the following database:
http://www.tlma.org/water.htm
“There are approximately 354,616 oil and gas wells in Texas today. Of these 114,259 wells or 32% are shut-in, depleted and are not expected to produce another barrel of oil.”
The issue has been framed thusly:
“Many of these wells have been idle for decades and some irresponsible oil operators refuse or can’t afford to spend the money necessary to honor their obligation to plug the depleted wells.”
But Perry’s government does have a proposal:
“We must support the efforts of the Texas Railroad Commission to ensure that anyone who wants to operate an oil well in Texas must first have the money to plug it when the well runs dry.”
THEREFORE, Seth, your argument has “come up dry”!

Dan Foley
The format of the debates
cldonley Wednesday, November 9th at 12:03PM EDT (link)at that level, with only two on stage and plenty of time to answer questions will do very well for Perry. And I look forward to hearing the anointed one trying to defend his record against anyone.
Your statement is similar to those who had the Phillies winning the World Series before they got out of the first round of the playoffs.
That’s why they play the games.
Conservatism clearly stated will defeat liberalism and its poster boy decisively.
It's All About JOBS
carolynr Wednesday, November 9th at 1:29PM EDT (link)There are two contrasts here. Obama’s and Perry’s. Perry’s plan is to create jobs in the private sector…WHICH PROVIDE REVENUE. Public Sector Jobs…Obama’s favorite that are riddled with union based standards…deplete money in the economy…BECAUSE PUBLIC SECTOR JOBS ARE TAXES TO TAXPAYERS. It is that simple.
Private vs. public sector
tyman Wednesday, November 9th at 1:49PM EDT (link)More public sector jobs also assures libs that they will never have to cut government spending because their excuse is that it will lay off so much of the tax base, adding to what you said Carolyn, if I understand correctly.
The public sector jobs thing is a ruse used by liberals and socialists. God bless the civil servants, but we can’t base our economy on the government doing all of the hiring.
Regarding, uh, the, uh, the debate with uh, Perry and uh, Obama.
You get the point. I think Obama will feel more threatened by Perry than anybody knows.
Besides, I’d love to see Gov. Perry put the onus on BHO: “Mr. President, I’d like for you to look in that camera and tell the American people why you’ve failed to secure the border, why you’ve sacrificed jobs for government regulations and why we should give you another four years to just make it worse”. “I, uh, I, uh”.
Perry has got issues with Obozo as governor of a large red state, and I’m going to do my best to give him the chance to go face to face.
Erick’s rant really fired me up to support Perry even more!

Perry can't debate
paco12348 Wednesday, November 9th at 7:38AM EDT (link)Perry said in an interview he would love to debate Obama. If he can’t debate his fellow candidate how in the devil could he debate Obama. His statement was pure rooster arrogance. That’s exactly what people I talk to say about him. ARROGANT! Frankly, I think he would make a good President IF he could get there.
But, I question if he understands all the problems facing America, not just energy or tax structure. Does he understand we are losing the youth of America through the indoctrination program passing for a school system? Newt sure does.
Does Perry understand how America has filled up with ideologies that want to destroy America? Newt sure does.
Does Perry know how to get rid of Judges making law? Newt sure does.
Perry would be left on the floor with an Obama debate. Newt would wipe the floor WITH Obama in a debate.
Perry handed Romney a straight smack down in Vegas and caused a forced error on the usually unflappable Romney.
sunshinek67 (Diary) Wednesday, November 9th at 7:43AM EDT (link)Perry wiped him up. paco, take a look at American Thinker article today, "School Reform is Making Advances Across America" & TX Public Policy Foundation
circlegranch Wednesday, November 9th at 8:15AM EDT (link)findings. Rick Perry is as strong on education as anybody in this race. Texas has made great strides in public education as reported in the aforementioned article appearing today. The stumbling block to reform is teacher’s unions which impose caps on the numbers of kids that can get into charter schools.
Also, have you heard about a bill Perry signed into law this summer that gives veterans the chance to apply military service toward college credit (their immediate families, as well) which will help them fast track toward a degree?
Are you aware of the criticism he’s faced from both Texas A&M and the Univ. of Texas for speaking out about curriculum choices and the very issue you take here–indoctrination and left-leaning professors and what is being taught?
There’s a whole lot more to Rick Perry than oil and gas industry concerns, but thank you for the opportunity to bring some education issues to the table here today.
I'm not so sure about that.
unitedwestood Wednesday, November 9th at 8:24AM EDT (link)Everyone has this high opinion of Obama’s ability to debate, but how does he come out with no teleprompter and a record to defend. You are of the assumption he can actually form words to make a sentence. I, on the other hand am not sold on that thought. When have you seen Obama speak to a crowd without a pre-written script and NOT mess up? NEVER! What happens \when Obama has someone standing there to correct him on his misstatements…. to bring his record up. I think that many people are allowing the huge crowds and the groupy mentality that Obama enjoyed BEFORE he had a record… the man can’t run on an idea this time… he has to stand up for his record… he has to defend his record…. he has to explain his actions! This is something that will fluster Obama and he, I suspect is going to fall flat on his face. I like newt too… but let’s not sell the others out thinking that Obama is something that he’s proven not to be.
Rick profoundly understands these issues...

[Meanwhile, The Newt favors the Individual Mandate, reflecting elitist/statist attitudes.]
Education: “No American Left Alone” [Chapter 5] addresses Health, Education, Environment and “the tyranny of the Modern Administrative State.”
Ideologies: “America is Great, Washington is Broken” [Chapter 1] and “Why States Matter” [Chapter 2] are prominent statements based on the 10th Amendment.
Law: “Nine Unelected Judges Tell Us How to Live” [Chapter 6] extends discussion of the manifestation of the prominent “activists.”

Arrogrant ?
carolynr Wednesday, November 9th at 1:39PM EDT (link)Hey…I’d like to debate Obama…and guess what…I’d win because his policies are anti-American, anti-growth, anti-value. Should I name them…we don’t have enough space.
School System – yes he does understand what happens in the school system. I know…I hear you now…and you give me stats. Don’t forget…Texas has migrant workers averaged into average scores. My grandkids are doing GREAT.
You don’t think that Perry understands ideologies. I do. From foreign affairs to the liberal “gimme” attitude, a good work ethic and a good foundation can change that.
Judges making law – all of Perry’s judges are Conservative…that’s good enough for me.
Have you ever noticed that when Obama doesn’t have his teleprompter…he’s not that great. When he has to take that thing to a grade school…that tells me he is scripted…not genuine…and we all know that.
Look, Gingrich is a very, very smart man. However, some of his judgment issues fall short, i.e., global warming (Gingrich pushing that while sitting next to Pelosi) and his backing of ultra liberal DeDe Scassofasio (sp) in NYS. Is Gingrich an inside the beltway boy…there are some hints.
paco12348: Perry arrogant? Who are you talking to? The LAST
pttx333 (Diary) Wednesday, November 9th at 1:56PM EDT (link)label you can stick on Perry is “arrogant.” He has self confidence/ healthy belief in himself, something we all should have, but that is a far cry from arrogance.
Ya darn tootin’ he’d make a good President, and my prayers go out daily that he will be No. 45! You make a big mistake when you believe and even mention that Perry “would be left on the floor with an Obama debate.” BIG mistake …
Tonights Debate and Rick Perry
bzip Wednesday, November 9th at 8:48AM EDT (link)Tonight marks yet another debate. This debate will be very interesting. Since the last debate much has happen. We now have the Cain sex scandal which may be brought up in the debate.
In regards to Rick Perry:
Since the last debate there has been much change in Team Perry camp. New people have been added to Team Perry and Perry has released and shown us his vision with: Cut, Balance, Grow (flat tax), he also has his energy plan, job plan.
Perry has much to focus on with his new policies and vision. Perry has gone into full campaign mode, doing lots of interviews. He has remained much focused and is clearly showing a huge improvement in his overall campaign, staying very much on message. Anyone who has watched Perry’s interviews recently can see how much he has changed, how focused he has become.
There has been much change in Perry and in Team Perry since the last debate. Think back when Perry first got into the race, he had no visions, no plans and wasn’t in full campaign mode. He even had back surgery shortly before he entered the race.
I suspect most people would agree that Perry has gone through a big transformation in the past month and “may” surprise all of us in his debate performance tonight (I don’t what to get my expectations too high but I do expect a difference in Perry’s debate performance tonight).
I do hope Perry stays away from the bickering, the high negatives tonight and stays on message.I also realize and think that Perry isn’t as good at these 1 minute slam dunk debate formats as he is with interviews or even debates that allow for more time giving us real substance.
These"debates"?
4suramcan Wednesday, November 9th at 10:55AM EDT (link)they are a joke, a farce, a debacle, custom made for station ratings. Who in their right mind can call this nonsense a debate. Get real people. Watch the interviews. Thats where its at.
Debate format needs changing
bzip Wednesday, November 9th at 4:04PM EDT (link)I totally agree, these debates are worthless and are made strictly for entertainment purposes. There is no time for any substance either.
The Iowa debate forum was great and I truly wish all debates were in that format. I have no idea how anyone can go about trying to get these debates changed to a substance base format but if anyone has suggestions I would love to follow up on it.
Perry’s Iowa debate forum was great:

Just saw "Values", too
tyman Wednesday, November 9th at 1:51PM EDT (link)In fact, I saw it as a link from the Wall Street Journal. The writer was complimentary of Perry’s positive message.
I don’t think it will appeal to just Iowans.
Nice Perry Ad, Go Perry 2012
bzip Wednesday, November 9th at 2:01PM EDT (link)You mean this ad. It was excellent and a very positive vision from Perry.

1bunny Wednesday, November 9th at 2:19PM EDT (link)thanks for embedding this video. I only know how to copy and paste the address but not how to embed or how to make the pasted link take you to the site. Sigh… to be more computer literate. My husband has given up on me. One year he showed me how to use the computer to address Christmas envelopes, tells me don’t worry there is no way you can mess up the computer. But there was…somehow he says I erased memory. I had to eventually get my own computer because he wouldn’t let me touch his anymore : ) Again a BIG thanks for posting this wonderful video.
Perry's Values
bzip Wednesday, November 9th at 4:09PM EDT (link)Yes, I really enjoy Perry’s ads and interviews. You can get a lot out of these ads, interviews. Perry has a very genuine personality that is reflected inn his ads and interviews, he comes across as very trusting.
I don’t mind adding the video at all, I enjoy it so I add them when it is useful. Thanks for pointing out the ad and alerting others, that is great.
bunny, change & tyman: Here's an article about Perry's parents that
pttx333 (Diary) Wednesday, November 9th at 2:07PM EDT (link)you will enjoy as much as me. I have it bookmarked and have read it over and over. Folks really don’t need to look much further than this to know who Perry is and what he is about. Ties in beautifully with his new values ad. Sweet stuff here …

Tonights debate has to be about Obama and the
ihateliberals Wednesday, November 9th at 5:16PM EDT (link)plan to defeat him. Bickering with one anther has to stop. every time one candidate cuts into another it is just more blood for the Democrats. they will remember all the opposition to any of the candidates when it comes time to debate Obama. Obama is a slick talker and will lie about anything in order to make a point. The Presidential debate wil be quite different from the primary debates going on now. Newt Gingrich is the only candidate i believe that can stay on message and not be side tracked by Obama. When Reagan was debating Carter and Mondale no matter what Carter would say to distract Reagan he stuck to message. by dong this he showed strength and leadership. We know we aren’t going to ever see another Reagan but to discount his methods would be a sin. he had a winning model andit needs to be applied to our conservative candidates and NOW!. I hope there isn’t any of the bickering of the past debates and that this is a true debate. I have not been able to watch all of any of the debates because of the childish bickering. It shows extreme weakness of character.
Christiane did not know Perry loves classical Betthoven
lizzie Wednesday, November 9th at 6:35PM EDT (link)bzip: Thanks for the full one on one with Christiane. Good practice if Perry ever encounters Rachel Maddow -add my smile.
I am not a regular at redstate, so I do not know if you similarly highlighted Gov. Perry’s 71-minute interview with the editorial board of the NH Union Leader, hours before his terrific , when watched from start to finish, NH Cornerstone speech. That 71-minute interview was outstanding and wide-ranging.
My concern about Perry’s interviews since Oct 28 is that he is relying a bit too much on his stump speech talking points – one main reason he was not as effective as he could have been at the Iowa GOP Reagan dinner on Nov 5 when he should have prepared more new material for his ten minute speech. I read he really worked the room before the dinner started.
Anyway, came across this interesting post today – maybe ABC is still into journalism despite Christiane taking over “This Week” from the far more unbiassed Jake Tapper.
http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2011/11/politics-aside-three-gop-candidates-wives-bond/
Christiane never read the entire Parade magazine interview with Perry because he covered his passion for Ludwig von Beethoven in detail in that interview. She was genuinely surprised when he said “anything by Beethoven” in this interview.
of course, I loved “Made in the USA” that closed out Perry’s SC speech at ISO Polymer.
I wish GOP voters would stop fretting about Perry v Obama on the debate stage in ten months. Watching Perry completely unravel Waffle Romney’s coolness was genius at work. Pooh on the pundits who said Perry looked like a bully. Anything BUT. Perry always stands his ground and rattles his competitors just with his innate self confidence. My immediate thought was no way can Romney ever meet one on one with Putin. Perry would probably go bow hunting for whales with Putin!
Obama is always uncomfortable next to anyone with Perry’s toughness+unshakeable optimism.
I still think Gov. Perry’s fading in his first two debates was due to his discomfort standing still for two hours with his back brace. He is too private to have used that as an excuse. He never complains.
So, bzip – how often have you watched the new, improved version of what Gov. Perry does on his day off? I await Perry’s cameo in a future episode of NCIS where Gibbs has to go to Texas to track down a sniper rifle, and winds up taking a turn at target shooting with Gov. Perry on his day off. Gibbs wins the five bullets in one hole contest, Perry graciously buys the burgers….and wins another 20 million votes. never underestimate the power of Donald Bellisario. (I confess that Rick Perry does resemble Harmon Rabb from JAG.
disclaimer: I am the disillusioned fiscal conservative dem that any GOP candidate needs in the general, and I want Rick Perry. Leadership fuels confidence.
btw, Bill Clinton came very close to endorsing Perry’s 20% flat tax for corporations, and need to fuel growth to balance the budget, on The Daily Show last night. The GOP should wake up and understand that Perry is the strongest candidate who can win. He can win women – the voters the GOP is going to lose if Cain stays on the stage much longer.
Perry is a great Governor
greyeagle Wednesday, November 9th at 9:53PM EDT (link)I agree with your comments. Perry has been elected 3 times as Governor of TX. He has been fighting with Obama for the last three years over the EPA, who is trying to destroy TX Energy business, and illegal immigration. Perry has asked Obama for aviation assets, boots on the ground and drones. Obama refused everything. Perry has been fighting with Ranger/police/national guard teams on the 1200 mile border to try and control the cartels and flood of illegal immigrants. TX has spent over $400 million in this fight. Millions of acres in TX burned about the time Perry entered the campaign. He was flying back and forth during the first two debates. Obama would not provide any assistance, and when FEMA showed up, they sent home the volunteer fire fighters and grounded the planes used to fight fires. The bottom line is that Obama detests Perry and I think Perry feels the same. Perry will not need a teleprompter to debate Obama. Perry has a record, but Obama only has his teleprompter.
