What Do Rick Perry and Barack Obama Have in Common?

With a tip of the hat to Christina at the Neal Boortz Show who put this together, Rick Perry can at least take some comfort from the fact that he is no worse without a teleprompter than Barack Obama.

Because in Perry’s mind he has already forgotten about it.

It does nothing to help America produce energy.

It should be dismantled completely and all the employees fired.

Rick Perry would unquestionably be a MUCH better President than Barack Obama. But let’s be realistic. Obama can not only blather on about nothing and need a teleprompter to say 3 sentences, he can take cocaine and publicly write about it, befriend admitted terrorists, have a preacher who sounded pleased that our country got attacked, have his running mate say that electing him will ensure an International crisis, etc., etc., etc., etc. have the liberal media carry his water and still get elected.

We know that it’s a totally different ballgame for Republicans.

Governor Perry has been an effective Governor and would make a good President — but to get elected he seriously needs to step up his game.
He can’t keep making these kinds of mistakes and what frustrates me, is this isn’t unavoidable — Governor Perry has his moments and if he puts the work in could actually be a pretty good debater. He just needs to be much more prepared.

Obama can befriend AN admitted terrorist. (not terrorists plural)

Obama has nothing to say… but he will talk forever.
Perry has a lot to say… but has so much trouble translating from Texan to English that he just can’t spit it out..

“…he [Perry] is no worse without a teleprompter than Barack Obama.”

    Really?

In 2008, Obama beat McCain decisively in 3 debates out of 3. Obama, despite his radical background, came off as calm, even moderate (to anyone who didn’t know where he was coming from). As compared to McCain’s monomania about earmarks. I don’t remember Obama making a single gaffe in all 3 debates. Obama knew his material and he know how to explain it to the viewing audience.

One thing Obama obviously learned at Harvard is how to debate.

    Don’t underestimate this guy.
    Please.

either needs to find a sense of humor or a lick of common sense.

in your analysis and warning not to take the President lightly. Everyone (including Perry and the President) makes mistakes, some worse than others. However, if anyone is claiming that Perry’s cumulative performances up to now is in the same ballpark as the overall performances of the President, with all due respect, that’s just delusional and wholly unobjective. Look, I don’t like the substance of what the President has to say either, but I don’t deny that he can say whatever he wants to say in a persuasive manner that lends itself to seeming reasonable and thoughtful.

With all due respect, Mr. Erickson, this post (and other where people point out past flubs by Obama) does not do service, in my opinion, to Perry. It just resonates as a “tit-for-tat” (at least to me) that cannot change the mind of anyone. We should just suck it up, move on without dwelling too much upon it and stay on message.

    Just my 2 cents…

Fast forward to 35.36 into the interview to get Sowell’s remarks on the candidates.

McCain beat himself by being afraid to confront Obama on anything. McCain was afraid of looking mean or being labeled as a racist for hitting Obama hard on the issues. Don’t confuse being beaten with beating yourself….

probably thought it was cool. They will learn, I hope. Perry will do better once he adjusts to debating and remaining focused.

Obama wasn’t a shining beckon of light when he debated Hillary and Biden on the campaign trail. BO was a disaster, worse than Perry and then some.

admitted he left Bachman because she never got beyond repealing Obamacare and debated with substantive responses. She was obviously hard to control. Rollins helped Reagan with his weaknesses. Age wasn’t why Rollins left. Videos are out there.

He’s the best since Milton Friedman in explaining economics and life.
