The Amateur’s Nominee

Brett McGurk is another example of just what an amateur Barack Obama is. Today comes news that the Commerce Secretary committed two hit and run crashes after suffering “seizures.” There is no word on what caused the seizures and Johnny Walker was unavailable for comment. (Initial reports were that drugs and alcohol were not involved)

Now, there is Brett McGurk. You should read this if you don’t know who he is. But the gist is this.

[UPDATED} Brett McGurk is Barack Obama’s nominee to be Ambassador to Iraq. His experience includes having an affair with a Wall Street Journal reporter and, around the same time, is rumored to be connected to reports of Marine security in Iraq observing someone getting a blow job on the roof of a building in Baghdad. Since this morning’s publication, we have discovered this rumor appears to have originated with Peter Van Buren, a foreign service officer who served in Iraq, though he did not name McGurk specifically in the rumor. Van Buren is now in a legal battle with the State Department over publication of his memoir. After searching, we are unable to find the video Van Buren referenced and therefore cannot corroborate the veracity of the story.

There remain concerns about Brett McGurk’s racy emails from his government account.

    comment?
The O Team certainly knows a loser when he smells one, and has the uncanny ability to appoint them to office. What a guy.

…anyone who can talk his way out of a situation as you described (wife, mistress, and back-up girlfriend) without ONE of them doing great bodily harm to him has to have *some* diplomatic skills, right?

May be we need a lil more sensitivity of the commerce secretary’s ‘seizures’…c’mmon…the guy had seizures…u don’t need to beat up O for something like this too…

  • gekster

Or is that the initial excuse.
    Do you know?

that seizures is their code word for drunk. And no, we will not leave poor Obama alone on this one. Lets see how long it takes for that administration to come clean.

    I posed a question.
    Do you know the answer.

  • lakeshore

…that B.O. experimented with seizures in his youth.

  • lakeshore

that a few days ago, if you had asked B.O. about all of this, he’d have said, “Who’s Brett McGurk?”

  • brojohn2

could cause siezures, sieze the wheel but not steer, is one. What is it with this administration? The Treasury Sec. avoids paying taxes, the Vice President has permanent foot in mouth disease, the Attorney General has visions of his own POWER against even Congress. Now we want to send a man as ambassador to Iraq, who doesn’t even speak the language, and will use and misuse his position to gain favors from female employees. Maybe even find a 3rd wife for himself?

    Are we that depraved?

I believe it was Jean Giraudoux who first said, ?Only the mediocre are always at their best.?

a not selfish dirt bags? Sure. But look at how our ambassador to Honduras, Hugo Llorens, behaved in the summer of 2009. He backed Zelaya, a mini-Chavez wannabe, and not the Honduran people. He stood up for tyranny and not for freedom. or the rule of law. What is worse is that he was appointed by George W. Bush. I’d rather our ambassadors embarrass us with their asinine behavior than their support of socialist tyrants, since those seem to be our only choices these days. It’s like picking between Clinton and Obama.

We don’t know what is going on with Bryson (commerce sec). He is a human being and deserves the benefit of the doubt.

The narcissistic personality must always be seen as the smartest, brightest, best, most capable. They must also have someone/thing to blame if things go wrong and they no longer appear to be smartest, brightest, best nor most capable. Hence, McGurk is the perfect selection in Obama’s eye. A built in scapegoat when Obama’s ill advised, inadequate policies in Iraq fail.

  • linz

Well…..once he’s appointed, at least he will have a building to be in to get a BJ, instead of having to moan on the top of a roof ala caveman style. Now, all he needs are a few “Clinton Cigars” to properly accessorize his ensemble.

  • duncer

Though he may have been appointed by Bush, the misbehavior did not occur on his watch. I am not sure how the appointment system works but usually if some has the authority to appoint, he also has the ability to send them packing. It is a double edged sword , Clinton fired all the lawyers at the DOJ when he took office and upon examination it was found that he did not have to give any reason. He wanted political hacks and it was his right to have them. A decent person could do a fine job though he does not share party affiliation, but we are finding out that decent people are an inconvenience to democrats. For example i give you J. Christian Adams.

  • acat

the guy knows how to throw a party, and is very persuasive.

These are actually good traits in an ambassador .. provided the Iraqi Virtue and Vice cops don’t get him …

O.K., then pray tell what kind of seizure “happens” at least three times allowing you to deal with at least two by getting out of your car and talking to the crashee…then, getting into another “accident” and finally getting medical help. Alcohol and drugs are two “seizure” inducing drugs…..yes, yes, I know we don’t have a medical report and by the time we do, it will have blown over and all will be to “normal”….in the meantime this guy is dangerous alcohol or drugs notwithstanding!

You didn’t need to beat up the English Language like that, but you did.

  • Bill S

But it is also a possibility that the guy did truly have a seizure. I know personally of someone who this same kind of thing happened to.

That said, the other items that Erick points out about McGurk should be reason enough alone to push back on him.

  • PowerToThePeople

and if, and that is a big IF, he does have seizures, I hope him the best in controlling them via meds. Seizures are not a joke and kill many an American every year. That being said,

I have this funny feeling that this is a case of a drunk Obama man who felt he was above the law. When he hit the first car, he got out and talked to them. For whatever reason, the victim was not satisfied with the discussion whether it be drunk driving, refusal to take responsibility, or a medical issue, but the bum left the scene forcing the victim to follow him and then the second crash occurred which he also attempted to leave before passing out.

Could it be a seizure, maybe and if that is the case, glad no injuries were reported. But I think there is a bit more to this, but I have been wrong before a time or two.

  • http://www.redstate.com/wp-admin/user/profile.php docfreeman

It all sounds really strange. First he hits the first car twice then he hits a second car and is found unconscious, goes to the hospital makes it know that he had a seizure, yet he was allowed to leave the hospital after staying one night, and then returns to D.C. as if nothing was wrong. Now if it was a seizure as his office claims why is he not in the hospital having test as to why he had one and get some treatment. Now he can drive in D.C. and kill someone, or he was really drunk and slept it off in the hospital. Since he is a Congressman he gets special treatment for drunk driving. It all smells really fishy.

  • Bill S

…points to “a bit more to this”. But I will give the benefit of the doubt until more info becomes available. Yeah, I’m a little squishy that way… ;-)

  • UpLateAgain

At least there aren’t allegations of tax fraud. Just sayin’…..

  • eyesopen007

Granted that a siezure might have caused him to get into an accident, but what kind of siezure would cause someone to leave the scene of an accident? Could only be one of two kinds, a liberal siezure, or a progressive siesure.

I have had seizures since the age of 16. Seizures are easily treatable with prescription drugs. The only type of seizure that he could have had is a Grand-Mal seizure given the number of accidents that he was involved in during his stay in California. From experience, I know that you lose consciousness and collapse. Suddenly your body stiffens, then you have violent jerking, after that YOU GO INTO A DEEP SLEEP. He left the scene of an accident. Excuse me, obviously, he had a bad case of Johnny Walker, not a grand mal seizure or any other type of seizure for that matter.
