EDITOR OF REDSTATE

David Limbaugh’s The Great Destroyer

Our sister company within Eagle Publishing, Inc. has published a new book that, even were Regnery not the publisher I’d be seeking out. That’s because it’s author is David Limbaugh, who continues to be one of the most informative and easy to read authors of current events within conservatism.

David’s new book is The Great Destroyer and I have been on a mission for two weeks to get from front to back before writing about it.

First, you should know I’m a big fan of Crimes Against Liberty, David’s previous book. It is on my desk and provides some of the best conservative insight into Barack Obama. The Great Destroyer is no different.

Through 400 pages, David Limbaugh not just demonstrates Barack Obama’s ongoing assaults against our values, culture, economy, oil, job creators, and the foundational underpinnings of the United States itself, i.e. being a nation of individuals and not a nation of the collective, but he does a particularly good job of explaining why conservatives see these things as an assault so the prObama media might at least be able to understand the angst out there.

Frankly, if you read The Great Destroyer you’ll understand immediately why conservatives who may not care much for Mitt Romney have rallied to him against Barack Obama.

David Limbaugh has another best seller on his hands and the left will do their best to ignore it. Why? Because it’s not just Limbaugh’s opinion. He’s copiously documented his statements and the left would prefer to ignore it rather than deal with inconvenient truths.

Head over to Amazon or even to Apple’s iBooks Store to grab a hardback or digital copy.

And my review from last week went into more detail on what you can expect. It’s pretty much as Erick says.

Highly recommended. I wish it were put in Wiki form, though.

If this book does not contain more specific examples of the basic premise or reason to read the book than does the essay I would not bother to read it even in a library. Its nothing special. I already know I don’t care for the direction Obama takes the US. I follow the news.

An essay needs a theme and examples within the body of the text. And the book promo essay (not a book review) needs be in the writer’s own words. Links to other sites overwhelm readers with opinions of others than the essay writer and just plain overwhelm.

.I do not want to click – leave the essay to get an opinion on what the book is about. The buy the book essay is almost complete before any specific theme is mentioned. Conservatives do not like the collective approach as we are a nation of individuals. That essay dichotomy of individualism / collectiivism begs for more explanation. It could mean to some readers at a quick glance that we do not care for community,

But we conservatives do very much care for Community as we do nurture all individuals as unique.

Our objection is that basic units of community seem to be usurped and government run. We want to booster the strength of family, neighborhoods, ballgames, parades, church, schools without big unions, Conservatives do not promote isolation, alienation or starvation as alternatives to the Obama way. That truth may not be as self evident as many think.

From a Christian anf faith based point of view—

When a person, familly or community including public squares are GOD centered then isolation and self centrededness and a lack of purpose we see around us today do not drive. We have a place and can soar as an individual in traditional communities. We can do anything if properly grounded. We are never isolated. We have hope because we have FAITH reinforced around us not because Obama says so.
