1. The Arizona Decision and What It Means

Today, the United States Supreme Court, in a 5-3 decision (with Justice Kagan recusing herself), mainly gutted Arizona’s SB 1070, the state’s immigration law. Make no mistake, although prevailing on the most publicized aspect of the case, Arizona lost. What is somewhat surprising is the legal rationale used and if you are a conservative proponent of state laws that address the problem of illegal aliens within their borders, this has to be disheartening news.

2. I Can See Russia From My Backyard

Last week I released a video on the 2nd Amendment stating well-documented, historical facts about totalitarian leaders and their implementation of gun control laws prior to exterminating millions of their own citizens in 1911 Turkey and 1939 Nazi Germany.

3. On Elizabeth Warren’s Claims of American Indian Ancestry

For those of you who don’t know, I’m a history major currently working toward his Master’s Degree in the same. My particular focus is American Indian history, so I think it should come as little surprise that I’ve been watching the Massachusetts Senate race for more reasons than wanting Scott Brown to win. The moment Elizabeth Warren’s claims of Native ancestry surfaced, a little something went off in my head telling me I had to follow this. I can’t say I was surprised when I learned that these claims are, by everything we know, spurious. Neither can I say I was surprised when I learned she has shown little to no interest in meeting with a group of Cherokees outraged over her apparently fabricated claims.

I can’t profess to be an “expert” on American Indian issues–there are so many tribes and cultures, there are so many differing opinions, and there is much I still have to learn–and I can’t claim to speak for American Indians, whether all or in part. Nevertheless, that doesn’t stop me from being outraged over what Elizabeth Warren has done.

Of articles criticising Mitt Romney today. He’ll have to respond swiftly and firmly to prevent an impression from being made by these stories, especially on Bain, which Obama apparently thinks is safe to move back to now. After that, perhaps he should pay heed to Herman Cain’s advice, if only to keep the LSM arguing about the substance of his policies rather than the lack of it. If they’re solid, it’ll only make Obama look foolish and without ideas.

Herman Cain wants Romney to have bolder policy proposals, and I think those should begin soon, even as we continue scoring tactical wins and building the ground game.

Aaron Walker, who finally won a temporary injunction to allow him to speak again about Brett Kimberlin, was SWATted last night:

His first words to the cops at his door were: “Let me guess, someone claimed I shot my wife?” His wife’s first words to the cops were also: “Let me guess, someone called and said my husband shot me”.

which means in reality Romney is surging to a lead in an important swing state. The poll shows 9% undecided. Those votes will break 90/10 for Romney (really who is undecided on Obama); this is 8% and would put Romney up 52-48..in addition you have the 3-5% house advantage for Markos’ favorite polling firm so this race is actually 55-45 to 58-42 – Romney. I bet you ole Axe has polls in the field in Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania after seeing this result. Don’t be surprised if the Obama campaign backs off the immigration fight; first polls out of Virginia and Ohio show white independents moving to Romney. Just a reminder to all my conservative friends, no incumbent can run from his record; it’s all those pesky independents care about. Obama can’t win this election based on Wars against Woman, Wars against Dogs or Wars against Hispanics; to win he has to stand up and make the case to independents why they should rehire him based on his record. Ole Axe is finding that to be a real steaming terd pile.
