EDITOR OF REDSTATE

David Dewhurst’s Media Consultants Attack Ted Cruz and RedState *at* RedState

This is amazingly pathetic.

David Dewhurst’s campaign gets his state government website altered to cover up his lying about his amnesty position.

What happens? His media consultants invade RedState to accuse Ted Cruz of supporting Chicoms and attack RedState for supporting Cruz.

In fact, this is not the first time Dewhurst’s media consultants have done this.

Using the user name “Liberty Patriot,” Dewhurst’s consultants have dropped by four times to attack Ted Cruz at RedState.

Ironically, they’ve noted that “convictions in your beliefs are important” even while David Dewhurst was altering his official Lt. Governor’s website to cover up his amnesty position.

The consultants have accused Ted Cruz of being a paper tiger.

And, they’ve pretended to be from Florida to speculate on Ted Cruz’s lack of credentials.

Now, how do I know this is David Dewhurst’s media consulting team?

Well, here at RedState we can trace the IP and this IP connects consistently to Raconteur Media Company, located at 720 Brazos Street, Ste 400, Austin, TX 78701.

And guess who their client is.

can you scrub their comments from the site or does that take too much manpower?

    are dumb.

  • earlgrey

of course it does beg the question as to how competent is the Dewhurst group if they can’t figure out a better way to cover their tracks.

  • Liberty Patriot

Look, I’ve had this account for years, including when my other clients, and my passions, were popular on Redstate.

I’m not hiding who I am. And I am from Florida. And I am planning to go to the Redstate gathering.

I’m Ryan Gravatt, and flame away at me on twitter.com/gravatt.

I fight for my clients because I believe in them, and I speak out for them when it is warranted.

My comments here are my own and are not from my clients.

  • Vegas_Rick

and your sleezy tactics are all the more reason to support Ted Cruz. People like you don’t get it. Calling onself a conservative while acting like a progressive will not get results here. We are informed. We know BS when we see it. And you are full of it. I just sent another contribution to Mister Cruz’ campaign because of how much you and those like you disgust me.

  • Vegas_Rick

By the way, where are links backing up your ridiculous claims? Hmmmm?

  • acat

your fib above is quite obvious to anyone with an eye for detail.

An account for years and only 5 comments? I guess in all fairness, he didn’t say an “active” account. LOL.

  • tnfriendofcoal101368

suddenly became Liberty Patriot? Can’t put the change in screennames by us IT people…

  • APA Guy

…and your writing seems very, very similar to that of a Lugar shill who was here trying to discredit Mourdoch in much the same manner you are trying to discredit Cruz.

    Could be coincidence…or…

  • http://www.hakubi.us/ Neil Stevens

He’s not fibbing about having a fairly old account.

  • tnfriendofcoal101368

Mourdoch/Lugar showed the RINOs like David Dewhurst that once the tea party tsunami got to rolling…it is difficult to hold back the waves so they had hoped to start an anti-Cruz whisper campaign. Unfortunately for them, Erick Erickson took notice or was alerted. It is hard to start a whisper campaign at RedState if EE is screaming back at ya. #JustSaying

  • tnfriendofcoal101368

Liberty Patriot and Liberty_Patriot the same person or is Liberty Patriot an employee of Dewhurst’s firm who lives in Florida and Liberty_Patriot a handle used by the entire firm from time to time?

  • APA Guy

Intrigued by coincidences I am…and this may well be one.

  • bk

One of the Dewhurst TV ads that ran many times attacked Cruz’s conservative credentials in part because his firm donated to the Obama campaign. Not Cruz himself – his firm.

So now we have a Dewhurst person saying he’s just speaking for himself, not for his client, and he’ll say that the above wasn’t really a Dewhurst ad, but a TCF ad Dewhurst had no control over and that it never even mentions Dewhurst, so David had nothing to do with it. Blah blah blah.

And these are the guys who say Ted Cruz isn’t transparent enough. Riiiight.

  • acat

One would imagine that a true believer would have written extensively about one he truly believes in.

Inquiring cats want to know why the posting history is pure anti-Cruz assertions.

    Old account, still a candi-bot.

  • gekster

Doesn’t or can’t say anything good about thier candidate,
    just constantly bashes the opposition.

(I forget just who it was that helped me with the definition,
but arc_utah is tribble one from back in 2010)

  • savvy2

I heard Ted Cruz on a radio interview here in Texas with a Tea Party person. Cruz stated arguing with one of his own supporters. What’s up here. He seemed very aggressive and hot headed. Has anyone heard what I heard?

Here in a very Republican part of Texas I don’t hear very much about Cruz and undecided so far.

  • Repair_Man_Jack

Has heard what you have heard.

  • kipling

Dewhurst is trying to portray Cruz as a hot-blooded Cuban who cannot be trusted with the reins of power.

  • Joshua Persons

You can see a user’s original user name on RedState by checking the user’s profile link. LP’s is “onlinecampaign”.

are a great annoyance to those of us that really are.

Dewhurst is throwing the sink at Cruz…..hopefully Texans will see it as an act of desperation.

The last thing we need in the Senate is another go along, get along establishment throne sniffer.

  • AceInTX

I was thinking a couple weeks ago how I haven’t seen any polls or news here in TX on the Cruz/Dewhurst race and then I see a piece in the Weekly Standard the Cruz has internal polls showing him leading DewCrist by 9 points and suddenly it makes sense….The establishment here are solidly in the DewCrist camp and since Dewcrist is the more moderate,(read liberal) choice in the race….so is the Press…I’m sure they’re polling….and the numbers are good for DewCrist…..so they aren’t reporting on their own polls.

We pushed hard to get rid of Kay Bailey Hutchinson…we don’t need her twin brother DewCrist to fill her shoes:

that an “attack?” I guess when John Drogin posted on my FaceBook page I was attacked! I thought he just needed to identify himself as working for Cruz — and to be corrected.

and, seriously? The site tells me I’m posting to quickly?

Dewhurst, the Dewcrist moniker fits fine, has lived in the shadow of Rick Perry for his entire term as Lt. Governor. He and House Speaker Joe Straus have established themselves as the establishment hacks, the special interest filters that insulate true conservative values of the people of Texas from fulfillment.

The Texas Legislature only meets every other year for 140 days, thank Goodness. Texans expect their Senators and Representatives to implement conservative values. But Dewcrist ? and Stratus abuse the legislative process in favor of the special interests that control them.

What could be more positive sounding than something called the Texas Association of Business? This is an organization that used Dewhurst and Straus to block meaningful immigration reform. Dewhurst was unwilling to get Photo Voter ID passed in the 2007 & 2009 sessions. The overwhelming impact of Texas tea parties and Perry?s Presidential aspirations were the only reason he didn?t block the legislation in the 2011 session.

All Dewhurst has is the same inane diatribe about Ted Cruz law practice being involved with some Chicom company verses another Chicom company. It didn?t work for him in the primary but I guess that is the best he can do in a runoff election. Good grief, doesn?t Dewhurst have anything positive about himself he could promote instead?
My guess is no, he doesn?t.

In looking at your posting history (since the start in March, 2012), it appears your primary topic (pun intended) is David Dewhurst,

In your “bio”, you list yourself as “Christian wife, mother Family Doctor, ethicist…”, and even state in another post that you are a “volunteer advocate in Austin”. Don’t know how you find time to support Dewhurst on Red State.

  • http://wingright.org bnuckols

These days, I’m interested in Dewhurst. Last Summer, it was Perry and the primary.

In fact, before I started my WingRight.org blog, when I decided my bioethics focus at LifeEthics.org was too narrow in scope, I tried to figure out how to start a diary on this site. But they’re evidently closed.

None of which should make any difference to you other than to distract from what I’ve posted.

  • ihateliberals

Instead of standing up and being who they are they have to hide behind something. for the most part they really don’t believe in the garbage they spiut and they can’t defend it very well in person. they can really get it on whenthey think no one knows who they are. I am a conservative and proud of it. I love my country and have Risk my life for my country and beliefs. i don’t have to hide and be sneaky I can defend my position on my beliefs and i don’t have to prove anything. History wil bare me out.

Erick don’t filtere these guys out. we conservatives are bright enough to spot them and see them for what they are: cowards.

Dewhurst cannot run on his record and therefore has no choice but to take a page from the liberal play-book and attack Cruz. Pathetic! Has anyone seen an ad from Dewhurst that wasn?t an attack ad? I have not.

  • avagreen

    We do.

So I left my admin duties here five years ago, and your account is just under six years old. I kept an old copy of a spreadsheet on new users I kept for banning/management/oh let’s be honest banning purposes. I just pulled a Google search to double-check.

Your primary appearance here, back in 2006, was to hawk Big Red Tent. You were honest about your first name, but your exact role in the constellation of political consultants was a bit obscure.

Your disclaimer in this comment is certainly the first I ever heard of it.

I mention all of this to note that I personally drop-kicked Romneybots out in 2007 for doing exactly what you now pretend you weren’t doing. Erick is a far nicer human than I, but I’d make it a point to include a lot of disclaimers in your posting here from now on.

As I have not even an iota of banning authority now, that’s just friendly advice. But it’s probably good advice, too.

  • citizenkh

Democrat Healthcare talking points against Dewhurst.

  • cbartlett

every Dewhurst ad I’ve seen – TV and mailers – are attack ads. What a wimp. He has squirreled out of showing up at a lot of events and even some debates. He just seems to think he is “above” above all that. I don’t remember the exact numbers (they were posted on RS within the last week or so) but even though Cruz’s support is less in total dollars that Dewhurst, he is getting his dollars in smaller amounts from lots more donors from across the entire country and almost all of Dewhurst funding is coming from wealthy donors in Austin (and of course, his own bank account). I just don’t think we need any more of those types in the Senate. Wouldn’t someone who has to fight for his dinner be a better player for us in DC?

BTW – I heard Ted say at a meeting he held in our town in late January that they were hoping, even way back then, for a runoff with Dewhurst – it was the best possible scenario because his team felt like he could get better turnout in a runoff than Dewhurst. Sure hope they know their stuff…….

  • siquijorisland

How about refraining from this type of activity. Not thinking you are smart enough not to get caught. Maybe thesis stupid thinking?

  • pseudonym

It seems I hear a Dewhurst ad every 20 minutes on every talk radio station in Dallas Fort Worth. I am looking forward to the July election so hopefully Cruz can be elected into the US Senate and I don’t have to listen to those horrible attack ads that brings no relevancy to exactly what Dewhurst would do in the Senate. What a candidate does not say often says more than what he does.

  • izoneguy

And all that money Dewhurt spent will have been wasted…..

I just hope that Mitt does not pick Rick Perry for VP…
    Dewhurt would become Governor.

  • earlgrey

RIck isn’t all that good there.
