Blowing Up the “Paul Ryan Will Turn Off Women” Meme

I have always thought it was both vapid and shallow for the left and a whole lot of the supposedly objective media to claim that women voters vote with their uterus, or more specifically whether or not they get to kill kids.

All this talk about “Republicans will defund Planned Parenthood so women won’t vote for them” is ridiculous, not borne out in polling, and all involves a religious devotion to killing kids . . . errrr . . . abortion on the left.

If we’re going to use the left’s presumption that women are so shallow that abortion trumps all, we can play the game as well and presume Paul Ryan will not have a problem getting women to like him. Here are the top four searches on Google over the weekend related to Paul Ryan.

But hey! Barack Obama will always have the mom jeans voters.

old for some odd reason prefers Romney. Possibly because he was dressed like her daddy during the announcement speech.

I have to admit to having been on the Hey Girl it’s Paul Ryan Tumblir more than once, and yes, I have seen the new revisions.

so people want to see the results. Ya know, because Americans aren’t shallow and all that. :)

impressed with anyone that can do that program! Wow!

Of course, Chris Lee put himself to shame. Anyway, it’s the first time I’ve ever heard reference to a presidential ticket member’s body fat percentage!

You’re slowing down my access. Seriously, I think I’ve been there 7 times since the announcement.

The site is awesome because there is so much truth behind the humor. Paul Ryan’s expertise on the budget is undisputed and he’s objectively very handsome. The naughty, but intelligent double entendre sews up an epic win.

For those who haven’t been there yet:

Couldn’t help myself…it is quite entertaining.

…just told me that TMZ is “obsessed” with Paul Ryan and that they have a lot off his high school pics available. It woud be funny if it’s TMZ that humanizes Ryan to the media obsessed youth.

The money that Obama gave him to run suburban mom focus groups.

The women that I know, across the spectrum of politics, income, and education levels, were all aflutter about a certain bestselling trilogy this summer. The plot, from what I understand, is that a young woman finds her future by temporarily prostituting herself to a handsome, confident, successful but pain-inflicting man.

Nobody recommended the book about the girl swindled into a lifetime contract by a negging metrosexual pimp who robs church poor boxes to pay for her birth control.

Obviously, I’m not saying that any of the four Pres/VP nominees are sexual deviants, and I won’t name the bestseller because I find it morally corrosive, but I think the women of America are ready to endure the pain required to get the country back on track.

us as only caring about abortion and contraception. It is as if they see us as incapable of having any higher thought processes than that.

Here is a news flash for the Left; we care about budgets, overspending in Washington, the moving away from the Constitution, the power grabs in DC, and on and on.

In other words, we are intelligent, well-informed, and rational voters. Well, at least Conservative women are :) .

  • clintonformccain

Maybe the Republican ticket is making inroads with the gay vote. :)

I’m sitting here, watching Greta. Boehener is on… and Greta, quoting Harry Reid, mentioned the “end Medicare and Social Security as we know it” meme. What I don’t understand is why the GOP doesn’t respond to that question with “If you’re 54 or over, NOTHING CHANGES FOR YOU.” Respond with it early and often. Instead of the stuff about saving Medicare & Social Security (which is true), cut off the conversation that scares the seniors! For cryin’ out loud…

As a conservative I love Paul Ryan’s devotion to small government, balanced budgets, constitutional principles.

I appreciate his intelligence, patriotism, leadership, awesome communication skills.

As a woman I love his handsome looks, boyish demeanor, sexy bod. Trust me he is hot! ,

I think that’s part of the reason liberal women (and liberal men, for that matter) are so confused. They just don’t understand why smart, strong women find smart, strong men sexy instead of this generation of men they’ve brow beaten into a bunch of milquetoast, limp handshaking, metrosexual, crying whiners who wear mom jeans and can’t throw a decent pitch.

  • demsaresatanic

constant females will predictably prefer the most alpha male. However other factors are not constant, the female preference for security over risk/reward will give Drats around 55% of the Pres vote I suspect.

This security preference could likely be countered fairly effectively by a Nixon/Reagan type ?Drats are soft on violent crime? approach, however the Romney campaign appears to be staking everything on the economy issue, unwisely, in my view.

  • lineholder

or at least for women with children, during this particular election season will be there children’s futures. So I think this might offset some of that typical security influence and counter it with risk/reward, with the reward being for future generations.

  • dave72

will always get the parasite vote.

  • daniel22

According to my wife women think with more than their uterus. It is because of that that she is a registered republican. She claimed that democrats actually denigrate women by keeping them in their place and so she decided to amke her own choices.
I’ll have to ask her if she thinks Ryan is hot. I will probably get a slap upside the head. Matthew McCaunaghy is more to her liking.
Anyway it brings me to a most horrid thought. What if the Obama campaign unleashes a series of full spread shirtless Obama playing basketball? Now that would be dirty politics. Or even worse yet VP BiteMe on the beach playing volleyball. Yuck!!!

  • smokinmadokie

Ryan is hot. Talking balanced budgets is hot too. And even Mittens is a nice looking mature man. Even on a diet you can read the menu!

  • atillathehun

Depending on the state that you live in, the PC mantra of “many” young women is an inherited war cry and causes many women to become as you have depicted, uterous voters.
The giant slide toward insolvency coinsides with women getting the right to vote and feelings trumping all things large and small. You cannot separate feelings voters from the female voter. It’s biology and the mothering instinct I guess.

  • earlgrey

Men acting like they should. They are modern day heros (at least to me).

I agree with Melody. Beta males (as I like to call them) just aren’t attractive.

  • http://www.plumbbobblog.com Plumb_Bob

If the man of the house is unemployed, you don’t think that makes the woman of the house feel less secure?

Most women are also employed, but how many households can afford to lose half their income?

Trust me, the economy does affect female perceptions of security.

  • wumingren

“If you like your healthcare plan, you can keep your healthcare plan. If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. Nothing changes,” said the man who campaigned on “change.” The people are preconditioned not to believe a word that falls from the lips of a politician.

  • http://www.plumbbobblog.com Plumb_Bob

“It’s pretty amazing, isn’t it, Melody? Women finding strength + self-discipline + convictions just down right sexy! ”

    Grown up women do, anyhow.

Adolescent women like that “you’re always right” thing.

Leftists are emotional adolescents. They just happen to have adult bodies.

  • http://www.plumbbobblog.com Plumb_Bob

The willingness to endure pain for a thrill is very, very, VERY different from the willingness to endure pain for an economic cure. The former indicates a distinct lack of maturity, the latter, the growing presence of maturity.

It’s going to take serious economic hardship to make modern Americans willing to cut the government back to a sane size. I do not mean pre-Obama size, I mean pre-FDR size. And I do not mean 8% unemployment hardship, I mean currency-collapse-level hardship.

Which, I’m afraid, is coming very soon.

  • mortonhalpern

While so many of us here are head over heels about Paul Ryan there are many causes for concern as well.

    Here’s a good piece on Ryan: “Romney Rolled by the Far Right?;

  • VA_mom

I find this entire post and the majority of the comments to be incredibly demeaning toward women. And I would suggest the debate turn back to the issues, lest you tick off women by suggesting they will vote for the “hot one.”

Paul Ryan is a great pick. He is smart, conservative, honest, gutsy, etc. I loved seeing his pictures of his beautiful family-he seems like a devoted husband and father. But at the end of the day that is not so very different from Barack Obama. The difference is their stances on the ISSUES, not their sex appeal. You’ll lose more female voters by treating them like morons who are so focused on a guy’s looks that they can’t listen to what the guy is saying. Give me a break! This is 2012! Focus on the actual issues, and you win the election. Allowing it to deteriorate into a soap opera will lose the election, lest we forget about the media successfully portraying Sarah Palin as a pretty girl with no brains.

  • westcoastpatriette

    thank you very much.

I despise the sexually-suggestive “humor” that depicts either men or women as desirable based on their appearance or athletic ability. That is how chimpanzees chose their Alphas and Betas. Despite our similar DNA, we’re far more capable to ensuring survival of future offspring when we rise above instinct.

Have we not developed beyond the basic need to bring sexual behavior into EVERYTHING? I mean, it permeated the Olympics and it’s all over the place.

So sick of it. This image-consciousness is destructive to our survival, not the other way around.

An the idea that Andrea Mitchell, with her plastic-surgery, Botox-frozen smile, has ANY IDEA what American women want for the future is a joke. News for you, Ms. Mitchell: Some of us have daughters who will be entering the workforce in the coming years. We take our responsibility to leave them a sound economy very seriously. And we don’t give a damn about Ryan’s blue eyes or Obama’s ‘mom jeans”. We don’t give a damn about your Ladies-Who-Lunch-At-Clydes politics either, Ms. Mitchell.

You both know that women are better than this.
I know that women are better than this.

The Democrats do not know. The Democratic platform is sexist and demeaning towards women.

According to Democrat logic, women vote based on sexual urges.
Erick is applying that logic to the case of Paul Ryan.
He is not claiming the Democrat’s logic for himself.
He is trying to make the heads of sexist Democrats explode.

The rest of us are just piling on.

I hope that restores your confidence in the RS community.

A woman shouted out to Paul Ryan as he beqan his speech in Waukesha, Wisconsin Sunday night after a tear jerking greeting from the state supporters.

LOVE YOU, she yelled. And Paul replied without missing as beat LOVE YA TOO!

Women adore Paul Ryan is how it looks to me.

He is charm , charisma and made of a bold character that asks to lead. Women of all ages adore him and that deep affection will only grow stronger as the campaign moves on.

  • mwmom

I have 3 daughters and am very concerned for their economic future but I also think its great to have someone young and good looking representing us. Let’s enjoy this as we ramp up to the good fight that he is capable of fighting. Things will get tough enough really soon.

  • celador2

What about all the women who do not support Obama, why is the press not hounding him on that deficit? These opponents are significant in numbers.

Will Obama reach out to married, pro life, limited government pro constitution women? He write such voters off.

  • lineholder

the Dems and playing off on how sexuality influences human behavior. That’s all.

Ryan will stick to the issues at hand. You can count on it.

Would we really find him so attractive if he were spouting Marxist rhetoric and lies? Of course not. It’s his courage, conviction, sincerity, integrity, intelligence, personality, etc.

  • earlgrey

we were treated to truly nauseating images of him on the beach at one point. I get tired of dems telling me I should find their candidate attractive and love their first ladies/wives sense of style. I do have eyes. The dems idea of attractive makes me want to puke, because they think I am a helpless rube and I want someone who wil pander to me. No sale here.

It would be dumb to play the Obama is buff and handsome card when you’ve got Ryan on the other side. Of course, you can never underestimate the dems — either in ruthlessness or stupidity.

  • demsaresatanic

but I hope you are right.
