This, This, A Thousand Times This

Finally, someone has seized upon what I think is THE winning narrative in this election cycle.

It used to be that if you worked hard enough you could be successful in America. But in Barack Obama’s America, you have to work hard and give to Barack Obama. It’s all about the team you are on, not the work you do.

The website Crony Chronicles has put up a video that I think needs to be broken up into 30 second ads and run all over the country.

Without economic liberty, there is no liberty. With the central Soviet five year economic plan Obama offers, its not worthwhile to work. Eighty hour weeks to pay the largesse of it to Government? Hell no.

As the Soviets said of their Governments wage, price, and production controls…., “they pretend to pay us, and we pretend to work”.

Calvin Coolidge made similar appeals, and worth listening too again.

Good catch because conservative can run with it all day long. Liberal districts across the nation are at risk, especially most of California.

When only the “Team” or Co-op or party receives the accolades, the individual stops trying to excel.

Its human nature to want the rewards and praise one for one’s efforts. When those that work the hardest receive the same rewards as those that don’t, those that can excel, don’t try as hard. It’s why that though the Russians had/have lots of tech, it was never the quality of ours. Their economy never met any of their goals and many items of necessity were in short supply.

Anyone who believes that there is no place for individual rewards has never watched little kids.

Surprisingly praise can be as motivating as physical rewards.

A human being needs to feel needed, wanted and worthy. To be an appreciated member of the tribe/pack.

To pervert the American dream you have to start when they are young!

seems that election 2012 is boiling down to a turnout battle between the Makers and the Takers.

Obama’s big success is the millions he has addicted to the heroin of “free” government stuff in the past four years.

R&R are carrying a heavy load – no less than the future of freedom in America.

May God – and us – help them to succeed!

  • techsan

That’s the thing. Eventually, the takers realize their folly when the Ruling Class comes for their stuff, too.

Codevilla’s Ruling Class article lays out the better dichotomy. The takers vs. makers is a convenient fight for the Ruling Class. They can swoop in to “fix” that so-called problem.

The Obama Government is about picking friends…it’s who you know. And there lies the truly scary stuff.

Is popular in ALL the former Soviet Satelites too. My friends here in Slovakia shake their heads in amazement that America is going down this disproven Socialist road.

you get the feeling these kids understand what they are saying. Hooray. Loved that precious boy with the blue shirt. Thanks for always trying to keep us on a positive path here at RedState.

but wanted to ask if your country is entirely Socialist in its leanings or is their a movement towards democracy? Most Americans don’t have a clue what it means to live under total government control and that it could and will get much worse if we don’t turn things around.

Heck, the socialists in Hollywood even changed Superman. He used to say “Truth, Justice and the American Way”. That’s pretty bad when they can’t even let a comic book character say what he has always said!

The problem with crony capitalism is education, if more were educated in the history of crony capitalism then the possible horrors would be taken more seriously. For example; how many know about Mao?s Great Leap Forward with some estimates over 40 million deaths?

When talking to the majority, sadly you must start with basic education…

She grew up when it was still Czechoslovakia and a Soviet dominated country. As a little girl she lived in the same apartment building as a doctor’s family and an alcoholic factory worker’s family. What is the point in going to school and working towards an education when you live just as well as the alcoholic glueing shoes together? Communism except for a few people at the top is nothing but shared suffering.

…and where I live, is The Republic of Slovakia, which is a Parlimentary Republic. Slovakia has elections every 5 years unless the PM loses a confidence vote, than an early election can be called. The Presidency is a ceremonial post currently held by an ex-communist who hasn’t offended too many people. The Parliment is currently controlled by the left with a former communist as PM (Robert Fico pronounced “Feech-o”). After breaking up of Czechoslovakia into two Republics in 1993, the Slovaks have had only 5 different PMs. Mercier was first, an up and coming totalitarian who is now out to Pasture, then a right of Center/Free market Government under Dzurinda which implemented the 19% flat tax for individuals and corporations and cementing in free market principles and a capitalist system along with a flood of foreign investment (Slovakia makes more autos per capita than any other country), then a short Fico government ousted for corruption, then a short center coalition government who couldn’t stand for anything and so stood for nothing and fell; and now a second Fico “Socialistic” government which will probably see through it’s 5 year term having learned some important lesson from it’s last failure.

The Eastern part of Slovakia is the old heavy industry core of the old Czechoslovakia and is also quit rural/agricultural and where the majority of the “Roma” (gypsy’s) live. The people there are really into the government still providing, especially the Roma, rather than capitalism, but that is starting to change ever so slowly as the governments tend to give sweetheart deals to foreign companies who locate in the East (such as US Steel in Kocise) and private sector employment increases.

The Western part of Slovakia centered on the Capitol of Bratislava is full bore Capitalist! The Smer (means “Direction” but there only direction is left) Party currently in power is lucky to get 30% of the vote here.

As to a true “Freedom”Party here, I would have to say no. ALL the politicians and Party’s here are out for personal inrichment of themselves and their friends and corruption has been the downfall of EVERY government since 1993. This is very sad to say. There are some very smart people in Slovakia and there is now a “Transparency” Party and people are getting tired of the corruption. I saw a sign at a “rally” in Bratislava the other day, loosly translated it said “We cannot make as much money as you can steal” so I guess there is the seed of a TEA Party here somewhere.

I opened a Chinese fortune cookie recently, and read a fortune that summed up the entire Obama Presidency on one slip of paper: ?Hope is a fine breakfast, but a poor supper?.

build that” and go with “If you have a good life… YOU built that!
You made hard choices; you did the things that losers will not do. You didn’t stay stoned going to schools somebody else was paying for, stay in a church that spewed hate to advance your career; you didn’t mock those who understood that government never built a battleship or a bridge without taxes from profitable businesses and their employees who “Know the triumph of high achievement.” For almost four years, we have been taken down a path that could only be imagined by a person who has lived a “You didn’t build that” life.

?After all, the chief business of the American people is business. They are profoundly concerned with producing, buying, selling, investing and prospering in the world. I am strongly of the opinion that the great majority of people will always find these the moving impulses of our life.?
From an address to the Society of American Newspaper Editors.
Wonder what Old Cal would say to the MSM today?

inside scoop. Am off to look at your Bio and facebook page. You’re a sport for putting up with my ignorance! And then filling me in. We were in Rome in 1974 and the shock of seeing communism at work has stayed with me all these years. We entered the hotel complex as Nixon & Kissenger were leaving…that was after sitting at a millitary airport (747) with snipers on the roof following our every movement while going from the jet to the buses. At the bottom of our gangway was a military jeep with a driver, and a soldier standing next to it with a sub machine gun pointed at us as we walked down. Back in the day when private business held huge conferences for their workers. You had to work your butt off to get to the conference and what an incredible time we had. The the IRS decided no more foreign country conferences shortly after that. I was a bit short of my goal so mr. emptybucket stepped up to the plate and worked part time for me. We earned the entire week long trip and had a once in a lifetime experience. Country hicks can accomplish just as much as sophisticated city slickers. Am tired of the Left here in the USA acting like the right consists of a bunch of country bumpkins clinging to their Bibles. We don’t cling to our Bibles, we cling to God. That’s how much they don’t know about me and mr. e’bucket!!!
