Rooting For Injuries, Episode #29,365

"Just because we're not transparent doesn't mean we're not transparent"

We’re told the Sestak debacle was no big deal; Bubba just had a little sit-down with him to talk about their futures. We’re being told now that the Romanoff mess was no big deal either. Same for the Massa shower scene with Rahm Emanuel, the Blago “Senate seat for sale” circus that’s underway now in a Chicago court room, the Stupak sellout, the earmarks handed out in exchange for votes, and God only knows what other chitty chats that have taken place (and continue to) behind the scenes in the Obama regime™

It’s been said that this is not news if every other President has done these sorts of things, and that we should stop picking on the poor defenseless and inexperienced young Executive Obama. We were told by Pelosi, Reid, and most especially the Benevolent Bambi himself, that theirs would be the most transparent Government in History…no more “business as usual” in DC ever again. What to make, then, of WH Press Secretary Gibbs’ assertion today that the Romanoff issue “doesn’t mean we aren’t transparent?”:

“I do believe we’ve been transparent, yes,”

It’s a lie, of course, and anyone interested in being objective about the games Politicians play can plainly see that it’s a lie. It’s ok though because it’s a lie we’ve been trained to recognize, accept, and move on from as we shrug our shoulders and mumble something under our breath about this stuff just being the nature of the beast.

What makes this Gibbs moment unique, however, is not the lie he told about Romanoff as he pitched Obama’s plausible deniability, but the lie he can’t un-tell…should it re-surface (and we know it’s only a matter of time) some time down the road [emphasis mine]:

He later added, speaking of the president: “We went through a pretty contested primary. They’re not altogether fun things. Does the leader of the party have an interest in ensuring that primaries that tend to be costly aren’t had so that you’re ready for a general election? Of course.”

Asked if there had been other such efforts to clear contested primaries, Gibbs replied, “not that I’m aware of.”

Of COURSE he may not “be aware of any” but they’ll bubble up all the same as the campaign season heats up. Gibbs’ oopsie here is in wanting us to believe there are no more of these “less than transparent moments” in the hope that we’ll let it alone and move on. Pass the popcorn folks; when the next one of these backroom (or shower stall) quid pro quo deals comes up, Gibbs and Obama will be OPEN game for being called liars AND establishing that Obama really IS just business as usual without a transparent bone in his body…

They are transparently dishonest and not to be trusted. They may be fooling Paul McCartney, but they’re not fooling too many other people.

“from day one” which is “perfectly clear. I guess whether a job provides financial compensation is not what’s important, either.

to the Party in power because if they don’t have to spend money in primaries then they have a war chest to CRUSH the other Party! It is ILLEGAL and there MUST, MUST, MUST be a Special Investigator!

Obama and Company thought they could bring Chicago style politics to the whole of the United States and they MUST, MUST, MUST be shown that ILLEGAL is ILLEGAL in the United States of America!

Change btw is NOT taking criminality to a whole new level! I have NOT heard one person prove that ANYONE ELSE has done what Obama’s White House has done, what I have heard is that Ed Rendell of PA has done the same ILLEGAL behavior in his State however that does NOT an everybody make!

I feel I know exactly where they are heading and what they are doing.

I think most of their supporters know exactly where they are heading and what they are doing.

I think most Americans are rapidly coming to know exactly where they are heading and what they are doing.

Heck, if pretty much everyone knows what you are doing and where you are heading, regardless of what you actually say – you must be very transparent.

Its the ole’ ‘actions speak louder than words’ thing

If they started doing what they say or saying what they were going to do it would just confuse everyone at this point.

Is what we are dealing with in the WH.

I have an old camo jacket I used for hunting that is more transparent than that lot.

A few days later, Gibbs said at one of his briefings, ?This is the most transparent administration in the history of our country.?

Peals of laughter broke out in the briefing room.

Doesn’t he start off a lot of 17 minute answers to yes and no questions with the phrase “Let me be perfectly clear” or some arrangement (kind of reminds me of Nixon). Something perfectly clear is transparent.

No, they suffer the same problem every other ambitious political faction does. Ambition is impatient and the end game overrides the rules. Obama is an impatient person “the time for talking, blah, blah, blah,” and also doesn’t know that he doesn’t know enough to be god.

Ambition + ignorance does not equal transparency. It sets up the big lie.

How’s it make citizens of the states feel to know that the national political machine is behind the scenes offering to manipulate your local voice. That is how we get third rate people in Congress, we elect those able to be manipulated.

I saw a fair number of comments in various places yesterday to the effect of ‘The Big 0 is lucky this started with Bill Clinton.’ I think that’s wrong. I think The Big 0 is lucky it started with Rod Blagojevich. The guy was such a slimeball they were able to bury the story when he said The Big 0 was bidding on the seat. A couple more hits and that might go away, which could lead to an incident with The Big 0′s directly on the money bag.

Barack Obama is a fraud, a con man, a political hack, a corrupt tool of radical nutcases, a political televangelist as phony as Jimmy Swaggart, a purveryor of platitudes, a pompous windbag, a vain, delusional egomaniac, a liar of Clintonesque proportions, and a nasty weasel of a man.
His cheerleaders proclaimed him to be an entirely new political being, a man the likes of whom this nation had never seen. Well, they got that right. He is the nation’s first post-patriotic president, an elected leader who does not believe that he is a steward of America’s greatness, but rather the manager of America’s well-deserved and long-overdue decline.

debacles are no big deal, but now we have the MSM giving us the same talking points.

This morning on CNBC, that leftist hack, John Harwood, is outraged that this is, what he claims, the biggest non-story of the year- that all presidents do it. I expect to hear more so-callled “journalists” spouting this in the days ahead. That is why this debacle will never have legs.
