Lisa Murkowski – the Entitled Senator

As you know, Senator Murkowski is mounting a write-in campaign to try to hold on to her Senate seat. Daddy gave her the very seat he held and vacated to run for Governor, after all, and she cannot let some upstart Tea Party guy like Joe Miller take it away from her.

Just this last week, according to Politico, the Anchorage Press asked if “Republicans are secretly hoping [she'll] win.” She replied, “Yes. Yes I do. Definitely.” She went on to say she expects a warm welcome by both her Democrat and Republican colleagues,” and that “they need my vote.”

Now, when she refers to Republicans, she isn’t referring to Alaska Republicans. She isn’t referring to Republican citizens across the country. She’s talking about Washington establishment Republicans. The very same Republicans who refused even to strip Murkowski of her seniority status on committees, and suggesting that the simple step of having her step down from leadership was sufficient… the “right result,” in the words of [Senator Hutchison **], for her selfish write-in campaign to preserve daddy’s gift to her.

Joe Miller must win this race.

** UPDATE: Senator Alexander’s staff emailed us to correctly note that I misquoted him. He did not say it was “the right result.” That comment was offered by Senator Hutchison when she also said “I think we all consider her a friend.” Senator Alexander, on the other hand, made the altogether different statement, “we’ve done what we need to do, and we’ve decided not to do more.” I am certainly glad to clarify this matter.

Lisa Murkowski is an abortion-funding, Roe v. Wade endorsing, earmark worshiping, big-spending, cap-and-trade supporting, TARP supporting, Republican establishment hack who believes in her self and her entitlement to this Senate seat more than she believes in freedom, limited government and fidelity to the Constitution.

Miller believes in the Constitution and limited government. He is a West Point graduate, Gulf War veteran, Bronze Star recipient, Yale Law graduate… and unlike Murkowski, it did not take him four times to pass the bar exam.

If you want to get an idea of how different these two candidates are – watch this snippet from their debate, in which Miller asked Murkowski to defend the Constitutionality of a number of her votes, which she decidedly fails even to attempt to answer. (check the 7:50 mark). Instead she babbles a bit about how the Constitution doesn’t have specifics in it for everything so we need to be flexible. She uses the Air Force as an example – putting aside the fact the Air Force started as an arm of the Army and was later pulled out. Bottom line – she doesn’t actually care about adhering to the Constitution and is perfectly willing to do whatever she wishes and find a way to defend it.

This is how those of the establishment work. They are entitled. And she – and they – must go.

and the others like her. I do not care that they did not strip her of her titles, she is still the rep till the end of her term. But what I do dislike is her arrogant refusal to accept the will of the people. The will of the people is what is supposed to help these reps make the daily decisions. If she can not even respect their will in an election, how can she respect the will of the people when she makes decisions that affect us all. She is scum and I hope he childish behavior ends any political ambitions she may have in the future. I hope she is embarrassed and gets less than a few percent of the vote. Then I hope she disappears from the public view for good so we never have to see her snarly face again or hear her grating voice ever.

I wonder how she would respond had the others who she has beaten in previous elections done the same thing she is doing now. Her choice reminds me of how Obama sees this election in that the people are too stupid to make the right decision so they should not be bound by the “dumb” decision. Scum all of them,,,,,,

show a couple of weeks ago she had on Rick Santorum. He told the story of how, in 2004, she and the Alaskan GOP establishment asked him to fly up and lecture conservatives on party loyalty. Seems a more right-wing candidate was challenging her in the Republican primary. She and her gang wanted to forestall any attempt at third party run by her opponent in the event of her victory. Unfortunately, she won. They missed the last time. Hopefully, her political ends on Nov. 2.

Should be her political career ends on Nov. 2.

I was going to say that the word for Murkowski is “despicable,” as in deserving hatred and contempt.

This woman is a living example of all that’s wrong in DC.

I can’t believe she’s attracted a following of any kind.

A vote for Murkowski is a vote to continue monkey business as usual, to promote the “ruling class,” and to feed her delusions of personal privilege.

Do you have a link for that debate snippet?

    • hogan

I added the link in. My oversight.

There were three contributions to Republican losses in 2006 and 2008, 1. the Iraq war, 2. GOP corruption, and 3. the GOP’s loss of fiscal responsibility. Murkowski is the poster child of fiscal irresponsibility. If she wins she will pull the GOP back to the politics of pork and so will undermine Republican chances in 2012.

Don’t forget to write her name in – Laura Boroski!

  • pirate55

The system works and Ms. Murkowski goes back to where she belongs, as a poster child for inept career politicians!

At a few polling places, election workers are providing voters with a List of Write-In candidates for people who need help with the procedure.

AK Dems are attempting to sue to stop the practice. I never thought I would say this but, “Go AK Dems!” Stop Murkowski from stealing the election,

“Democrats threaten to sue over write-in lists”

Maybe they can start their own party. Castle can join them too.

that represents everything that is wrong in DC. The failure of the Senate GOP to strip her of her committee seat is just as bad.

    Go Miller.

  • texasgalt

“Stay out of Alaska.” Daddy’s little girl, pitchin a fit.

And they call Palin “that woman”

    • powertothepeople

      and despicable,

“”The fact that Jim DeMint, from South Carolina, is playing in this race in Alaska, I think Alaskans are looking at that and saying, you know what, this is our state. This is our race. We will be the ones who choose who will represent us in Washington, D.C.,” Murkowski said.”

Number one, what happens in Alaska affects South Carolina and what happens in South Carolina affect Alaska. We do not live in a bubble. Obama was first elected in Illinois and look how that has reigned crap on us all. Pelosi was elected in California and we all know how that has affected us all. While she is correct that only Alaskans can vote for their choice, it is pure arrogance to think the rest of the country should not get involved in their national races.

Which brings me to my second issue..

Funny she states that “We will be the ones who choose…….” as she quickly forgets that she has refused to abide by the choice made by Alaskans. If she was that concerned about only the Alaskans choosing who goes to Congress, she would not be running a write in campaign. Guess she thinks politics gets a mulligan like golfers do. Or she thinks that “we choose….: only applies to everyone else, not her.

      • texasgalt

And in the end it really boils down to this for Lisa”

It’s mine (foot-stomp)! Mine, mine, mine.

  • http://pocketchangeproductions.net/ anotherindyfilmguy

will they have to drag her out of *her* office still clinging to the chair?

  • klesb

So, her dad spoiled her. Happens. But, spoiled children should not affect the National interests. Alaskans will do the right thing – in fact, they already have! They just need to repeat their clear choice on November 2nd!

  • cam1

she HAS to be defeated. She is the poster child of what is wrong with congress and the Republican party.
