CBC: Calling Obama “Cool” is now Racist

Promoted from diaries.

I have to admit: I’ve seen some pretty ridiculous uses of the race card in the past four or so years, but this one might just take the cake. We’ve seen people using negative terms like “socialists” and criticizing Obama’s policies accused of being racist in some crypto way. However, this is entirely new to me. Calling him “cool” is now racist…wait, what? That’s just what the esteemed arbitrators of all things race-related, the Congressional Black Caucus. Per the Washington Examiner, after saying conservative critics of Obama don’t like him because he’s black, Executive Director of the CBC Angela Rye bleated:

She said that “a lot” of conservative opposition is racially-charged, citing the use of the word “cool” in an attack ad launched by Karl Rove’s Crossroads GPS superPAC.

“There’s an ad, talking about [how] the president is too cool, [asking] is he too cool? And there’s this music that reminds me of, you know, some of the blaxploitation films from the 70s playing in the background, him with his sunglasses,” Rye said. “And to me it was just very racially-charged. They weren’t asking if Bush was too cool, but, yet, people say that that’s the number one person they’d love to have a beer with. So, if that’s not cool I dont know what is.

You know, I could give you an entire paragraph about how ridiculous this is; about how the CBC, having jumped the shark before, is now returning for another go ’round for the 1,254,728th time (or something like that); and about how whatever fumes the race card is running on might finally be used up, but I think this video expresses my response nicely:

But hey, don’t blame me. It’s not like Obama’s trying to avoid this “cool” meme, and there are plenty on the Left who would just lap this all up. He is our celebrity President, after all. Perhaps he is, in the words all-too-often employed by the Left, a “self-hating black man”? Hey, just sayin’, CBC. Just sayin’.

You can almost smell the desperation….

That one has got em all in a pickle too… The race card is used up. Best thing our side can do is laugh in their face every time they play it.

That goes for the CBC too. Enough is enough.

Since they behave like an out-of-touch king & queen, with the way they treat the office, the people, and their allies…

For the last four years, one of the “best” things about Obama was supposedly the fact that he WAS cool.

Now, it’s exactly the opposite. Or something,.

Whatever. Obama’s not cool any more.

that President Bush is a teetotaler? She’s conflating Dubya and Slick Willie who was widely regarded amongst American youts the guy with whom they’d like to have a beer.

Those that knew and understood President Bush well enough to think of him”as a guy they’d like to have a beer with” knew that did did not drink and would, therefore, never suggest such a thing.

There was a poll circulating around the 2004 election about whether the people would like to have a beer with John Kerry or George Bush, Bush won.

I think she was referencing that.

to their ‘widdo’ hearts’ content. Note the appeal to emotion and what ‘they’ perceive, at THIS moment in time.

Any parent knows this gambit. It’s what they want “right now”, that counts.
By Friday it’ll be something else.
Because “it’s always sumthin’……….”, with infants, children and virtually all Progressives.
    It’s just who they are
