Obamacare: Lies, D*mn Lies & Statistics

President Obama knows lies, d*mn lies and statistics well.

As reports are coming out that Pennsylvania is receiving $160 million from the Department of Health and Human Services to set up a new high-risk insurance pool program that will fund abortions, we are seeing, yet again, that the Obama Administration will say and do anything to pass their liberal agenda – ignoring public opinion along the way…

LIES: “You’ve heard that this is all going to mean government funding of abortion – not true. These are all fabrications.” - President Obama on August 19, 2009

D*MN LIES: “The executive order provides additional safeguards to ensure that the status quo is upheld and enforced, and that the health care legislation’s restrictions against the public funding of abortions cannot be circumvented.” — White House Statement on March 21, 2010

STATISTICS: 67 percent of Americans oppose funding abortions with public funds under the health care bill. — Quinnipiac University Poll, January 14, 2010

As pundits have commented in recent weeks, and many of us have realized, you need to watch what the President really does, not listen to what he says, as the two are often in vast contrast of one another. As you can read above, nowhere is this truer than on the issue of abortion.

Back in March, when the offer to sign an Executive Order was made, many pro-lifers questioned why the order was needed after President Obama, Speaker Pelosi and Secretary Sebelius had been saying for months that no federal dollars would be used to fund abortions. On the day of the vote, I personally spoke on the House floor about how an Executive Order has no effect of law and cannot override the clear intent of a statute, as well as on how an Executive Order is only a piece of paper. Now that we know how little the President values his word and that he is comfortable violating an Executive Order, we are only left to wonder what other secrets are lurking for us in the dark.

Obamacare is a horrible law. The fact that hardworking taxpayers are now funding abortions – when many would rather use that money to provide for their families in an economy President Obama has only worsened – is an absolute outrage. The abortion funding being given to the state of Pennsylvania should be added to the already long list of why Obamacare must be repealed by Congress or overturned by the Supreme Court, whichever is quickest – and that’s no lie!

I’m not sure any current allocations can be stopped, but any future budgets can basically cause BambiCare to never be implemented.

Play as hard as you need to. Pass a budget in the House. If the Senate won’t pass it, you can torpedo “continuing resolutions”. If the reason is “to defund BambiCare”, then let’s see how it plays out to the American people.

While we’re at it, we could fund the EPA at zero dollars.

As I explained in a recent Diary, the tax penalty is an Unconstitutional Direct Tax. See my article in Tax Notes (July 12, 2010).

We need to defeat this Act before it becomes fully effective.

As I’ve explained before, the tax penalty fails under the Constitutuion.

Rep. S, I wish you were my Congressman! Out here in the BLUE state of Washington, everyone supports Obamacare. If allowed to go through, it will destroy our American way of life, by giving the Government (see how much power the Health & Human Services Dept. is given!) near-total control of your life. I, for one, am fighting back. My doctor and I have already agreed to an underground medical economy, if necessary. I refuse to let the Other Washington tell my medical team how to treat me.

About the only way back to sanity and solvency: Repeal Obamacare and just about everything passed in this Congress, and defund all “czars,” earmarks and miscellaneous pork. Pass Congressional Ethics legislation mandating sworn oaths by legislators that (he or she) has personally read each bill before voting on it, and calling for mandatory censure and penalty for any legislator voting to pass a bill he or she has not read.

Pass across-the-board budget cuts for all federal agencies, bureaus and departments, plus across-the-board salary cuts to lower federal employee compensation to the level of private-sector salaries. Then, for good measure, abolish and defund the Internal Revenue Service and pass the Fair Tax Act.

Then, in February and March, 2011…

The only way back to solvency is for the American people to co-opt government spending oursleves. Even if the Republicans can take control of Congress in November, the best they can hope for is to stop the Obama agenda. They cannot reverse it until 2012 at the very earliest. The damage has been done. Please watch the video, visit the website and pass it along. America’s future depends on it.

. . . and very well done video (the accompanying music choice is excellent, too).

As for the tax idea, my sister says the entire nation should stay home on a week/day (day without pay) and thus deny the feds tax revenue on income for that day. A general strike. Not illegal — and if the feds don’t like it, they can’t prosecute and imprison the entire nation — though I wouldn’t put it past them to retaliate in some wicked measure. And if they do, we’ll just stay home for two days next time, then three . . .

One way or another, the thieves in DC must be dealt with.
