Hey Loretta Lynch: Jews More Likely To Be Victims Of Hate Crimes Than Muslims

loretta-lynch

It happens every time. Whenever somebody is a victim of an Islamic radical’s violence, liberals in this country, instead of denouncing radical Islam and its violent nature, wag their fingers and lecturing the public of their “concern” for a potential “backlash” of violence against Muslims. We have heard this since the 9/11 attacks and we are hearing it once again following the San Bernardino terrorist attack.

The Obama administration, naturally, is leading the way with this poppycock. Loretta Lynch at this point is the administration mouthpiece:

Speaking at Muslim Advocate’s 10th anniversary dinner, Lynch said since the terrorist attacks in Paris last month, she is increasingly concerned with the “incredibly disturbing rise of anti-Muslim rhetoric … that fear is my greatest fear.”

More:

Lynch made it clear that she shares those concerns, but vowed to use the DOJ to protect Muslims from discrimination and violence. Noting the rise in violence against Muslims and mosques in the wake of the Paris attacks, Lynch added that, “When we talk about the First amendment we [must] make it clear that actions predicated on violent talk are not American. They are not who we are, they are not what we do, and they will be prosecuted.”

Now that the hyperbole is out of the way, let’s look at the facts.

There is no denying there are hate crimes committed against Muslims. It’s best to get the potential straw man arguments the left will make, out of the way. However, the statistics show that despite the constant drumbeat of “Islamaphobia” we are subject to from left-wing do-gooders, the numbers tell a completely different story.

The statistics below come directly from the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting program and reflect 2013 data (the most recent I could locate):

  • In 2013, there were 1,223 victims of anti-religious hate crimes
  • 737 of those were anti-Jewish
  • 167 of those were anti-Muslim
  • 132 of those were anti-Christian (Catholic & Protestant)
  • 197 of those were other religions, multiple religions and no religion.

Something really sticks out here, does it not? I hope somebody informs Attorney General Lynch that 60% of anti-religious hate crimes are directed at Jewish people.

President Obama is hell bent on ignoring reality. He is more concerned over his legacy of “ending wars” and convincing us ISIS is “contained” that he had to practically be dragged into acknowledging the shootings in San Bernardino were in fact, terror attacks. It pains him because doing so destroys the narrative he has created for himself as the President who has made the United States safer under his watch.

For those not living in the Obama bubble, we know this is not true. Obama haphazardly yanking troops out of Iraq and his dithering in Syria has allowed ISIS to grow from the “JV team” to a legitimate worldwide threat.

Instead of engaging in self congratulatory concern talk about mythical anti-Muslim “backlash”, the Obama administration, specifically Loretta Lynch, would be better served using all of the resources at their disposal to prevent similar attacks and leave the mealy-mouth caterwauling to groups such as CAIR.
