Brad Thor/Glenn Beck Flap Reveals Trump Supporters To Be Social Justice Warriors

Donald Trump supporters love to portray Trump as the ultimate alpha male. They brag on how “He fights!” They revel in his infantile attacks on the media and of course they guffaw when he attacks fellow Republicans with nicknames. They will also tell you to “Get over it!” if you dare to call out Trump’s idiocy.

They pretend to be the ones who are part of the “not-PC” culture that is “fighting back” against the social justice warriors. It’s all a facade. Trump will launch into a whiny attacks against critics screaming how “unfair” they are being to him. He will lie without shame about his critics and he takes to Twitter to air his grievances, knowing millions of his adoring fans will RT him and cheer him on.

Nothing illustrates the phoniness of the Trump supporters and their fake “fighting” mentality than the way they went berserk over an interview Glenn Beck did with novelist, Brad Thor. Here is the relevant portion:

“’It is a hypothetical I am going to suggest, as a thriller writer,’ Thor said to Beck. ‘With the feckless, spineless Congress we have, who will stand in the way of Donald Trump overstepping his constitutional authority as president? If Congress won’t remove him from office, what patriot will step up and do that – if, if, he oversteps his mandate as president? His constitutionally granted authority, I should say, as president. If he oversteps that, how do we get him out of office?’ Thor added that he doesn’t ‘think there is a legal means available. I think it will be a terrible, terrible position the American people will be in, to get Trump out of office, because you won’t be able to do it through Congress.’”

Now what did Trump supporters say this was? They actually claimed Brad Thor was calling for somebody to assassinate Donald Trump.

Leaving aside for the moment Brad Thor is not a stupid man and only a really stupid person would openly call for the assassination of a Presidential candidate (or to assassinate him if he got into office), there is nothing here whatsoever that even remotely suggests Thor was advocating somebody kill Donald Trump.

To me it’s akin to the young man who stood in front of a Chinese tank in Tienanmen Square. Or somebody like ‘Mr. Smith Goes To Washington’ to take the stand that nobody else will. The notion Thor was advocating assassination is quite simply, absurd.

But that didn’t stop the Trump supporters. They immediately took to twitter, howling in protest. They were calling Thor and Beck “traitors”, tut-tutting at them for wanting Trump to be “harmed” along with saying other disgusting things not fit to be published here. An author from the website that bears of the name of a deceased conservative advocate tweeted at Simon and Schuster, Thor’s publisher, questioning whether or not they wanted to  have an author that “advocated for the assassination” of Donald Trump.

It was a pathetic and juvenile display from a bunch of crybabies who are like cultists worshiping at the feet of a 70 year old crybaby. People with “free speech advocates” in their Twitter profiles. Talk about irony. Susan covered who really advocates for free speech.

That said, do you know what Brad Thor and Glenn Beck’s real sin is? They don’t support Donald Trump. If they supported Trump and this conversation was about Hillary Clinton, The Trump Cult would have been overjoyed and would have been advocating Sirius headquarters be burned to the ground for daring to suspend Beck.

But it was Donald Trump. And like good little social justice warriors, they went out and did their thing. They are counting the Sirius suspension as some kind of “victory.” I suspect that is where their victory will end. Thor did not advocate for assassination and Trump’s social justice army will have to seek out a new battlefront.
