CAGE MATCH: Ted Cruz and Bernie Sanders To Debate Future of Obamacare on CNN

“Let’s get ready to rummmmmmmmmmmble!” Well, sort of. I am not sure who set this up, but Republican Senator Ted Cruz of Texas and Socialist Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont are set to square off in a debate over the future of Obamacare. CNN will broadcast the debate on Tuesday, February 7th at 9:00 pm EST.

Jake Tapper and Dana Bash are set to moderate the debate. It is hard to say whether or not this is going to be worth watching. The intricacies of the Affordable Care Act and why the law is so bad is more befitting a public policy debate — one that would likely bore most people.

That means we’re likely going to get a lot of “Millionaires and billionaires” talk from Sanders and “Liberty and freedom” talk from Cruz. Sanders will likely bash pharmaceutical companies, insurance companies, mean-spirited Republicans, and blah blah blah blah. Cruz will espouse the beauty of the free market, bash the regulatory state, bemoan bureaucracy, and say a lot about “principles.”

That’s not to say it won’t be entertaining but my question is this:

If you sat somebody in front of the television who is on the fence about Obamacare staying or going, would either of these men be able to convince them which side to take?
